  1. BWP to resume his Super Sub status of last year ... COYRs
  2. Nearly 5 minutes and we still have a clean sheet, things are looking up :smt038 On my 3rd can of Old Speckled Hen, was up at 0430 this morning, hope I don't fall asleep before the end of the game  Case echoing my sentiments about Dyer. I just can't see why he is the team. Flatters to deceive. I really beleive his partner in crime , BWP would be a better option. COYRs
  3. But playing such an inexperienced defence away to one of the league favourites is a wee bit bit niave to say the least :doubt: I fail to see the point of Dyer, he really flatters to deceive. Surely BWP would be a better option ... at least he used to score goals  Got to feel sorry for Kelvin. He kept us in the game at Derby and made several great stopos today, he didn't deserve to be on the end of a -1 defeat. Lallana was probably his main contender for Saints MOTM. DMG was woeful, not that he was given much help till the new boy came on. I think he will be a cert to start next game. SJ must be wondering what the hell is going on though!!
  4. In the 60's, it was common practice to play the same team twice in 3 days over the Easter period.
  5. The male tit wobblist didn't turn up
  6. Well it certainly is being shown live in Dubai. Can some one start a "Where will be watching the match fred" so that I can post on it and arrange a meet up of The Dubai Saints Crew ( I haven't got around to stumping up a fiver yet, so can't PM or start a fred ) Cheers.
  7. You obviously haven't been to Geneva and seen their dress sense, not to mention hair and beard styles
  8. Hope this helps Tuesday Sunrise 06:02 (GST) Sunset 18:30 (GST) 41°C 30°C 10 very good
  9. Champagne Football from Saints according to Cope ... Case a bit more realistic in wondering if the kids will be able to keep this work rate and passing up over a long period. Of course the bubble will burst but every win will spur these kids onto to better performances. My 2 games this season (Brum and Derby league matches) have left me feeling I'd got my monies worth of entertainment (and more at Derby), which was definitely not the case in the last few years. Just look at the difference in performance by the kids with the encouragement of JP, and the disgusting way redkrap sent them like lambs to the slaughter to Mansfield to justify his not picking them for league games and then slagging them off even though they were following his game plan etc :smt013. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a decent Saints game on TV on Sat for a change (hope I'm not tempting fate ). COYS ... you are making my beer taste so much better already
  10. Hi matey, you missed an absolute corker on saturday, loads of beer, great footie and an away win ( The sun even shone for a while  ) In case you missed earlier freds today, bottle of Oyster Bay Merlot long finished, now on 3rd Boddies, but cloudy over cast day in Leigh (no surprises there then!!) 2nd half not as convincing as 1st half ... any coincidence with you turning up COYS. PS I've only 1 post left after this
  11. I'd love to, but I've only got 3 posts ... not got around to stumping up my fiver :smt104 Doh ..... I've only got 2 posts left now Case still very complimentary about our movement and interchange of passes. Brum had a few attempts but nothing to worry about. Not had a chance to look at the line up yet, but apart from Thomas and Wotton is there anybody old enough to have a drink in the pub after the game
  12. Absolutely feckin awesome. As LadySaint says, I can barely remember when a Saints team last played with such fluent and skilful football. it really was a pleasure to watch. After the Brum game I was disappointed at the result, but actually felt for the first time in a long while that at least I'd been entertained; well today really was something special, admitedly Derby were crap, but unlike last season we didn't give the ball away and hence could put the opposition under pressure throughout the game. BUT we really do need a lethal goal scorer. Twice one on ones were spurned, but it would be churlish to be too critical, because the team really performed well as a team rather than a bunch of strangers, and they all round covering and tackling was trememndous. Pretty football still needs a lot of hard work and every player gave it everything they had. Great display by the team, great support from the fans throughout the game and great beer and company both pre and post match in The Brunswick. I'm a bit concerned about the banging hangover that will be arriving tomorow morning. COYS
  13. Certainly is if you like Real Ale. They even run their own micro brewery there and I beleive they have a good range of lagers as well. If I remember it's about a 15 minute stagger to the ground, but I was pretty hammered last time I was there, so take that as a complete guess
  14. Pur-lease, we don't want the bucket and spade brigade and chavs ruining the place Only 5 star brochures please
  15. We hid it under a sheet
  16. I'll probably be the same if I get through a pint each of all The Real Ales they have in The Brunswick. Maybe best if I try half of them before and half after
  17. Seeing as it is likely to be my last live in the flesh, rather than TV game it is incredibly important for me to actually see us win for a change. I'm only back for the first few weeks of a season and hardly ever see a win when I'm back ...
  18. Are we going to sing 'Come on you Flints' ? The 'Come on you Ecru's' didn't catch on a few years back, so I'm not holding out much hope for this one either. Without any songs involving Red/Yellow in the lyrics I guess our repetoire (sp?) will be limited to OWTS and any anti skate songs..... can't wait
  19. How they hanging was quite a common greeting in my day
  20. I've got a house in Leigh, Lancs and am presently in Eastleigh staying at my parents house for the weekend and was in Leigh Road for a while last night .... could I be the missing link. Was I found guilty ... and what was my crime:confused:
  21. I shall be there to represent The Dubai Crew, will have a beer or two for you Also got my Derby ticket, does this make me a super fan Also bought a new Saints polo shirt ... the club should be able to buy a new player by the time I've bought a programme and pint and pie at half time
  22. Hi Matey ... Can you get a machine that will send some sunshine over here ... non stop rain in the northern wastes of Leigh. I guess they won't be declaring a drought this summer A few cans of Boddies has help a litle bit, but have abandoned any thought of going out for a beer later, I don't have my snorkell and flippers with me. Hoping for better weather tomorrow on my visit back to my spiritual home of Eastleigh Come on you Saints, it sounds really crap at the moment and I've got to try and justify shelling out all the reddies for the game at SMS on Saturday and then to Derby
  23. Woot .... Holmes scores
  24. Oh well, another set piece goal defeat and the summer finger nail growth chewed back to the bone all in the space of 90 mins .... welcome back to the football season as a Saints Fan  Not too amny clear chances for us, but the general standard of play sounded much better than most of last season. 1st half plenty of possession and good passing, but 2nd half we fell away and couldn't get the ball to pass it around. This is where we need more experience, maintaining possession when we get it ... not that any of the oldies could do that last season  Be interesting to see what team we line up with at Exeter .... play the oldies and keep the youngsters fresh for the league .. turning the normal thinking on its head
  25. You beat me to it ... but add .. he's been a bag of energy to the list
