Has played some great games for Saints and gives 100% but I agree LB will need strengthening (as will CB still, RB, CM and Striker!!). In the Luton game (not even league opposition) they poured down the right wing time and time again in the second half- poor old Dan was often either too slow or out of position, sadly. I know it depends on midfield cover etc etc but its not the only game. He has done a good job for Saints, but if we hope to keep moving up its one of several areas that needs fairly immediate attention. Great signing today though - should make it easier to sign other good players

Three points is the most important statistic I thought we were far too aerial to began with and our first goal came about when we started to play passing football on the ground. The first half became vey comfortable and half time felt good. Second half started well - the plan seemed to be to move the ball around and make them run (down to 10 men). The problem is, we didnt seem to know what to do then - keep pressing as in the first half, or keep it tight and close it out - we ended up doing neither and then it all got a bit nervy. But great to see 30k+ and as I said in the first line its 3 points so job done.

I've been a Saints fan for so long that I expect bad results! In recent years I can only once remember thinking that we are genuinely good now, Im allowed to be confident before the game. That was before Brighton. Back to pessimistically hopeful! COYR
