  1. he's not keen
  2. Beaten by Watford 1-0 tonight, and the score was about right. Very disappointing I thought, only the goalie keeping us in it at times - sounds familiar. Why does it always look as though the opposition want it more?
  3. The sort of player that will be slagged off on here week after week and then everyone will moan when we sell him and he scores for fun in the Premiership!
  4. I read it that if he cant play golf on a mountain top by Friday he'll open a supermarket?
  5. I'm hoping he has a Spanish brother we can buy called "Juan Saeijs"
  6. Just a play on words, but thinking about it more, I hope Jan has some others in mind and that Saeijs isn't everything.
  7. Saeijs is important
  8. Funny how clubs always "swoop" for a player - they never seem to just sign them in a leisurely manner
  9. Thats one Size, we could do with another at CB, oh and a RB and big CF please?
  10. Not sure that your on the right forum old chap if your looking for logical and reasoned debate, I think you'll find "out with x" " y is sh!te" and "we're doomed unless z" is more the order of the day
  11. So maybe he's not 6' 3" - he's got someone on his shoulders
  12. Spot on, so much of sport is in the head - confidence. A couple of injuries and a loss of confidence has made all the difference.
  13. Yes, we are saved at last....... just like when Rudi arrived
  14. Well, your point links RL's fortune's with those of Saints, so the corollary of that is that he is very keen to do everything he can to help Saints into the Premier League. Whether his decisions and behaviour actually help to achieve that is another issue. If he is still taking thousands from Saints however (as is alleged, again I don't know) then even at "pretty stupid" he is still cleverer than us - becasue we arent, and none of us seems capable of stopping him.
  15. “Southampton said they wanted to keep me and I made some good friends there, so it was a hard choice because everyone at Southampton was good to me"
  16. Not sure it was a free kick anyway, but for all that there's only one persons vote that really matters - and he voted during the match
  17. Footballing aspects aside.....although I agree they are quite important on a football forum, IF he is taking as much out of the club as some people think (I've no idea if he is or isn't) then doesnt that make him the clever one?
  18. A couple of times when he wandered upfield he seemed to freeze and the game passed him by - he didnt look too bothered about whether he was involved or not. He seems to be a waste of talent of almost Fernandes proportions.
  19. He played a strange game on Sunday at times - I think he's already gone
  20. This is one reason I get frustrated by some of the knee jerk stuff we read on the forum. There are many influences at play, including the bank, RL, the board as a whole, Jan, the other coaches, players, agents, FA etc and none of us really knows the whole picture. So its at best "uninformed" to spout off on what should be done and who's to blame etc (I know... wake up smell the coffee, I pay my money so Ive got every right etc zzzz) when we don't really know the full picture. Knee jerk reaction over.
  21. Have you sent the cheque yet?
  22. Makes interesting reading looking back. I think its all down to confidence. I saw all the pre-season games and, I know the opposition was not of the highest order, but the team's confidence was sky high and the goals were pinging in. There was so much movement and inter-passing, I remember commenting that it was like watching Arsenal at their best. Even then I was dreading "the boysh" getting a good tanking in their first few games and having all the confidence taken away. That didnt happen, but it has gradually happened over time as the original core of players has been broken up by injuries and the results have not gone right. When that happens its safer to knock the ball long and get rid of it. For me thats the hub of the problem, they are mostly young lads and need the experience. Playing Jan's style needs quite high technical ability and confidence. Many of the squad have a fair bit of the former but are sadly lacking now in the latter. Unless some very wealthy person comes along with a wad of money we are pretty much stuck with what weve got - at best, so the best thing we can do is do our bit and encourage them. I thought the support at the Man Utd game was average, but it wasnt bad. How we desperately need a bit of luck and a good run!
  23. Maybe because those ITK said he would sign on Monday and its now Tuesday
  24. Completely agree GM, could have written that myself
  25. "On the Cross" has some suggestions: http://www.southampton-mad.co.uk/ Which are....... The outs Everyone. Let's move on shall we? The ins Now you're talking. With a central defender and a striker top of the agenda who are the stellar names linked with a move? Chris Baird Despite his recent appearances in the Fulham squad and even starting line-up, Baird has been strongly linked with a return to Saints where he performed so well. The sticking point is, as ever, wages with Saints unable to match his Premiership salary, but the player may well be coming as part of a deal involving Lallana, a summer target for Fulham. 3/5 Broadsheet Marlon Harewood With Saints short of firepower all season, Harewood has found it difficult to get into the Villa side and with O'Neill looking to buy another striker he is likely to remain on the fringes. Powerful and pacey, Harewood is a force to be reckoned with in the Championship and would be an ideal loan signing up front. Again wages and competition from other sides in the league make this a difficult ask, but his goals could mean the difference between staying up and going down. 2/5 Tabloid Danny Welbeck Man Utd may well repay the Saints' defence's generosity for gifting the (offside) youngster the opening goal by allowing the emerging youngster to go on loan and continue his development alongside the fellow youngsters at Southampton. Quick, with an eye for goal, he already boasts 2 goals in 4 first team appearances and would be a great signing. 2/5 Tabloid Owain Tudor-Jones On the fringes of the Swansea side after a lengthy injury break, Saints could be set to continue with the recent transfer policy of signing crocked midfielders yet to make it at Championship level. However, with other sides linked with the player, midfield a low priority and other sides linked with the player, surely even Saints won't blow the budget? 2/5 Tabloid Paul Terry Poortvliet has said he has is looking for a 'John Terry' figure and who better than his brother, Leyton Orient's Paul Terry. However, Saints may not even be able to afford him and may go for another 'revolutionary' appointment by going for former Hampshire cricket coach Paul 'the other Paul Terry' Terry. 1/5 Some bloke down the pub Christian Dailly If you believe the messageboards, then Christian Dailly is about to return from Rangers once again to shore up Saints' leaky defence. Only you don't do you, so he isn't. 1/5 Some bloke down the pub Some bloke you've never heard of Get Google at the ready as another hidden gem to match the likes of Pekhart and Gasmi heads to our underachieving club. 5/5 Holding up a shirt Guide to On the Cross ratings: 0/5 Men in white coats time 1/5 Some bloke down the pub 2/5 Tabloid 3/5 Broadsheet 4/5 Official site 5/5 Holding up a shirt
