  1. Not so sure I agree, if he's the difference between promotion and not going up, surely that more than offsets the fact that he may have little re-sale value. Anyway, the Huddersfield chairman's wrong about that as well, Rickie's good enough for the Prem, I sincerely believe that, so he has re-sale value. If he had pace, he'd be in the England squad.
  2. Got some tickets online for Swindon this afternoon, but could only get Block 39, in row BB. Is this far enough back within this block to be able to stand up throughout the game? Not sure how far back you have to be to avoid breaching the "only standing up during moments of excitement" ruling in this block, although the Northam / Kingsland Corner does seem to be an increasingly impressive extension of the Northam massive.
  3. Nonsense. Blackmore is an excellent commentator.
  4. Totally agree with everything you say.
  5. Should get that as your avatar...........
  6. Are they still opening in the morning though?
  7. Think the Alex is much the same.
  8. Sorry, I probably should have quoted this one on my last post, then it would have made more sense.
  9. You on about the Maple Leaff? Paul Singh said on Tuesday night they'd be opening at 10am, not sure about after the game.
  10. That's a real pain in the gonads, effectively a 12.30pm kick-off then (in drinking terms).
  11. It's quite simple. They just need to replicate St. Mary's. Those of us who want to sing all game and stand should be given our own couple of blocks right next to the Carlisle fans. Everybody else could be left to sit at their leisure without having to worry about the more excitable of us getting in their line of view. If only the powers that be could arrange this. Would go somewhat against the usual prawn sandwich sanitised atmosphere at Wembley.
  12. Was in Kingsland / Northam corner near the back of block 38, was impressed with the atmosphere in there. Think I'm in there on Saturday as well, happy days.
  13. Most relevant point of the thread. Divide by 10 and you'd be closer.
  14. If Connolly wasn't going to re-appear, he'd definitely be worth considering.
  15. I thought it was a lot less than that to sign Papa. I'm sure I read £400,000 - £500,000 around the time he first came here. Whether we should sign them both or not depends on which League we'll be in. I'd keep them both if we're still in Div 3, but not on long contracts. I am a bit concerned that we are signing players on contracts that are too long, if and when we get promoted a lot of the players won't be good enough for Div 2.
  16. At the risk of asking a really stupid question, with Plymouth struggling in the CCC, why is he not in their side if he's that good?
  17. Blimey, the anus speaks a bit of sense, in his last paragraph.
  18. Tosh of the highest order. They'd have been out at Coventry if it wasn't for a ridiculous own goal. Presume you're on a wind-up.
  19. Nineteen Canteen is an anus, ignore him.
  20. That could be the only way I get a ticket. One home and four aways probably won't be enough I suspect.
  21. Hayden Mullins from the Skates? Played under Pardew at Reading and West Ham, I believe. Could be going cheap in the Fratton winter sale.
  22. I think this is the crux of the matter. We need somebody who is really going to make an impact in midfield, somebody with a presence. The way Carlton Palmer played in his first season for us is the kind of thing we need.
  23. You should have heard him try to pronounce Kosowski when Redknapp signed him. I do think Dave's great though. Him and Herdman were on top form today. Herdman's manure comment was top drawer, albiet probably rehearsed.
  24. This game might be a bit different though. It's only £1 more to sit, and it looks like there's no pillars in the way in the seated bit whereas there's loads of them on the terrace. It is probably a massively better view. Of course, I bought 6 terrace tickets....
  25. I'd like him more if he wasn't on such high wages and prone to moments of violent lunacy. I think he was possibly more deserving of a red card than Schneiderlin on Wednesday, accepting that he already had stud marks on his chest when he elbowed their guy.
