  1. Well, considering how the Ipswich commentators word was gospel on here when they said we don't know who we are playing each week, you'll be pleased to hear that the Blackburn commentators said that it was Blackburns best performance of the season.
  2. Because we're dead certs for the playoffs though. In 8 games time, we'll have 3 games left and absolutely everything to play for.
  3. Of course not. We have a tactical analysis department and full time positions dedicated to opponent analysis.
  4. Don't think jk rowling has done her cause any favours, nothing she said is even close to breaching the new law. If she really wanted to make the point she needs to actually threaten someone because of their gender identity, not just point it out. So all this will do is give snp a chance to show the law is proportionate. Think this will just go quiet until the telegraph or times do an foi in a few months time and manufacture some shocking headline about the 0.001٪ budget that gets 'wasted on wokery'.
  5. It's been true in the past, although not the easiest thing to get data on. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/gallery/which-premier-league-clubs-perform-best-after-international-break
  6. I was looking at an older year, but the trend is the same. I know why the confusion, because of how they have worded it, but if you look at the maths, it is not "of which". The data is showing that 53% of white applicants get an offer, compared to only 35% of black applicants.
  7. I am making assumptions, i did try to allude to that. It will be based on whatever data they have. If it isn't, then they would be open to claims of discrimination. Very unlikely, given that they cost money and most universities wouldn't part with money for something like this without justifying the cost. I can speak in general though, as someone who worked in the sector in the past, virtually every instance of recruitment or admissions of any kind show significant differences in your chances of being accepted dependent on your ethnicity, and always favouring white applicants. Leeds for example, around 70% of white applicants receive an offer, compared to 50% of black applicants. (Undergrad admissions) Those gaps depend on a bunch of things, but even when you take into account grades, courses and degree subject choices, there is still a persistent gap of more than 10 ppts. Coming out the other side, if you look at employment rates of black graduates, they are lower than any other ethnicity, and haven't changed for the last 10 years. same with staff, the data is static for the last decade, and waiting for the self correction doesn't seem to be working...
  8. Almost certainly not. This is an example of positive action and I've yet to see a case that wasn't evidence based, although im sure there will be exceptions, but given it costs them money, not likely. Basically these schemes are completely legal (and not racist), as covered by the equality act, see below. Basically, they will have identified a disproportionate disadvantage for black applicants, and are using bursaries to try and address it. It is there because currently, white students are at an advantage when applying for those courses. I'd be surprised if there was any other reason, eg black people trying to dominate creative writing courses etc. although I suppose it is possible. Most universities publish their race action plans etc you could probably dig and find their evidence. "action that may involve treating one group more favourably where this is a proportionate way to help members of that group overcome a disadvantage or participate more fully, or in order to meet needs they have that are different from the population as a whole”.
  9. Is it not referring to hate speech though, not offensive speech? Being offended by someone in tahiti would be unaffected, it's not a hate crime. They've even stated you can continue to be transphobic and you will not be charged, it's aimed at actual hate speech and incitement/harassment? And hasnt england already had similar for 20 odd years?
  10. To be fair, if it was hidden, you wouldn't see it in the data. In fact, if it is hidden, then that chart is exactly what you'd expect to see, adding credence to the fact that data is being hidden.

  12. He was a shining light in a time we were complete shit. He wouldn't have made it into any of our better sides, eg in the channon keegan eras, and don't think he'd have made it into the team ahead of sadio mane for example. But he did stay. We've had many better players who didn't stay, eg vvd, mane, shearer etc. And off the pitch, I'm not too worried about his opinions, as he has no influence anymore, he's shouting into a void. If he'd have said the same things as a player, I'd care a lot more, because people looked up to him back then. I don't think many do these days, and any positives he had to offer are in the distant past now. Which is a shame.
  13. And best singers...
  14. Franny love started before he retired, I remember when Beckham was at his absolute peak, after one half of being pummeled by franny, sir Alex moved beckham to right back to try and avoid the battering he was getting. Same game pahars went insane I think, it was great.
  15. I meant, does tv still get delivered through aerials, and do kids still end up waving coathangers in the air to get a good signal etc. I've not used one for about 30 years and that's what I associated with the original 4 or 5 channels. As I said, it was a genuine question, not making any kind of argument or disagreeing with anything!
  16. Genuine question, does terrestrial tv still exist?
  17. I was at that game, thought he looked alright. Nice little flick around the corner near the touchline. Not in our worst 100 players probably.
  18. Curious to how our antiwoke warriors on the forum rationalise this kind of report, data based, pretty stark. Do they just think black people aren't as competent or can't lead, or will they just grumble about stats and damn stats etc? And do they think it is a waste of money even looking at the problem? it's edi after all, and we know that is woke and racist...
  19. I was remortgaging during the minibudget (literally). At 10pm that day I pulled the trigger on 3.7٪, 5yr fixed. I wonder if you comfy fuckers are forgetting, but rates went crazy. In the following days, lenders removed all their products from the market, and came back with deals over 6%. This then gradually came back down, but still above what I was lucky to get. Without the minibudget, the rises would have been more gradual, giving those affected advance notice and planning time, and staggering the effect.
  20. Every definition is made up. But in this case, its a definition that has been used for decades, and is the older of the two, but it is very dependent on which country you are in and which definition they have adopted.
  21. A lot of goves comments this morning seem to suggest the conservative party is a real candidate for his extremists list. Wouldn't that make it hard to govern?
  22. What a depressing league to be a part of. I think we should stay down until the top 6 tootle off to their super league...
  23. Well quite, and threatening violence is absolutely unforgivable. (Unless you donate 10m to the tories, and then it's forgivable). Also, it was a private meeting, her skin colour (or gender) has no relation to why he finds it difficult not to hate all black women, and also 10m. Did I mention the 10m? Not relevant of course. We should forgive the 10m guy.
  24. It's just caused by different interpretations of the definition of racism. There is a stipulative definition of racism that is based on racism = prejudice +power. There is also the old simpler definition. They are each used in different places / contexts. In Australia, they use the former, hence why this guy apologised: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/mar/10/craig-foster-apologises-to-sam-kerr-after-arguing-her-alleged-remark-to-uk-police-officer-was-racist
  25. Only 8 surely? And 2 games in hand. And Ipswich to play. So it's in our own hands to finish above them.
