why do people keep going on about 10 points? if pinnacle buy the club, they won't be buying SLH, just the club = the football club won't be able to come out of admin because as an entity they aren't in admin, so... it will be another 15 points = -25points thats 8 wins and a draw. just to get back to zero. looking at the fixtures, I'd be unsurprised with 16 wins and 5 draws. that would give us a total 53 points, -25 = 28 points = relegation. I wonder if we'd be better off skipping down to league 2 now and starting on zero points. that way, we can get promoted to league 1 and next year we'll be in a better position.

Saints couldn't afford Pearson - it all sounds very familiar..
pingpong replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
way i heard at the time was that HR thought smith was past it and wanted to get rid, and lowe did him a favour by doing HR's dirty work (in an attempt to build some bridges between Lowe and HR). -
we weren't in such a mess when lowe left - otherwise how did we spend 7mill on players when wilde came in? and how could we afford to pay lawrie so much just for some PR? if you look at money wastage over the last few years, lowe's payoff is small fry compared to the irresponsibility of the early wilde months where we spent freely on stuff like LM and expanding wilde's seat, redecorating the boardrooms, buying average players at high cost etc...

maybe he will ban home fans from the ground, then the players can play without the home pressure that seems to make such a difference. or maybe he will fake a stand-down to inject some positivity into the fans, and then when we have won a few he can turn around and say 'only kidding, i just wanted you all to concentrate on supporting the team as you should have been from the start of all this'

I don't know, maybe it was a superior being who watches our every move and brings pestilence and plague whenever we misbehave too much.

or to put it another way. the universe exists (we can see it), so must have been caused by something (deflation of the previous universe) god doesn't, so no causation is required.

hmmm. I flew to work, 5 miles from my home, on the back of a flying squirrel, fuelled by the power of thought - i simply thought of an elephant swimming backwards and it gave the squirrel the strength to support my body weightfor the 72 hours it took to fly the distance. I cannot prove it happened, you cannot prove it didn't happen. still no degree of probability involved? some ludicrous ideas are more likely than others. personally, i think my example above is about as likely as the existence of god, but i have no problem with people who choose to believe in god - i have seen the comfort people get from a common belief and a church community can be very helpful for getting favours etc. from a scientific viewpoint, religion can supply positive emotion as well as the perhaps more prominent negative emotions.

stuff a jaycloth into the overflow (the hole 3/4 up the side of the sink that helps prevent overflowing). press another jaycloth onto the plughole and pump it, or a plunger is better if you have one. pump it as if you were doing CPR. this should give the blockage a bit of a push-pull and you might dislodge it that way. alternatively, go to the supermarket and try some sink unblocker, it's about £2-3 for a bottle and will deal with hairy flange.

I don't even understand the reason for the question - what difference does it make?

apologies if this has been pointed out already, but the bloke is a nutjob. imagine if lowe had given that interview, talking about lead violinists and roadsweepers. - he'd have been crucified by the people on here!

from the UP post above summing up 6 witness accounts, it makes it sound similar to the type of water throwing incidents you get with politicians. (or egg throwing). definitely worthy of banning from st marys in my view. the real problem from yesterday is that the anti-lowes have come across as rabid imbeciles, and the casual fan (of which I am one), is left with the impression Lowe has the support of those that matter, and is doing his best for the club in an environment of spite and vitriol from the lunatic fringe. Most people I know think Lowe is doing the best he can in an impossible situation. Personally, all credit to Lowe for sticking around in the face of t%%%ts like mcmenemy. (who is he to say who is welcome or not at the club? 95% of the shares say Lowe has every right to be at the club and LM needs to grow up and get over himself)

there is no excuse for homophobic assault on someone just because they are taking photos of guys with their tops off. if the guys were offended, he should have just had the camera memory wiped clean and told to leave, there is no reason for assault. it is impolite / antisocial to take pics of people in public, but if they are parading naked flesh they should expect it.

should also have been sent off.

he went in with both feet, even if he had made no contact, it's still a sending off. wouldn't get turned over on appeal in a million billion years.

as a missing attendee I can assure people on here that lowe has nothing to do with falling attendances. it's purely because Saints are rubbish. you can try and pin that on lowe, but the fact is we are rubbish because we can't afford anything better. regardless of whether that was lowe's fault in the first place, it remains fact, and there is no-one lining up who can do any better without major cash injections, and who is going to want to do that when they can find clubs with much better support than saints have? I think people should be resigned to the fact that we are not going to be a play-off challenging side in the championship for the foreseeable. probably not in our lifetimes. so given that, either enjoy the relegation battle in an half-empty stadium, or, be sensible, and change teams. Maybe not pompey because they are on the slide, but someone like Arsenal - fantastic football, heroic performances etc. etc. saints are a waste of everyones time.

yes, Carlson will be doing stuff for the BBC, his copresenter will be that fella from childrens bbc, who did last years, and has been doing a few sports shows here and there. can't remember his name though. I don't think Rivers is arrogant, he just has a loud mouth, I thought the byebyebaby stuff against jay cutler last season was pure entertainment. It was a big rivalry game, he stuck it to em!

stererophonics are doing a set pre-game ne-yo singing the us anthem joss stone singing the brit anthem. chargers winning the game.
-
well they played the soccer beforehand this time, so it won't affect the england soccer team. and rugby is rugby for nancy boys. i don't think they discriminate.

i just decide to look that up (bush 22mph) and found this: http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-nfllines12-2008oct12,0,3504369.story and that's with pads!!!

i'll be there (tailgate and game). bit annoyed chargers aren't the home team, i might end up being in a minority supporting the chargers. also a bit annoyed merriman got crocked. I think Chargers will win it, hopefully coming into form now and Rivers has been superb so far. looking forward to seing LT and reggie bush, bush got up to 22mph on a punt return the other week (according to ESPN).
