  1. how often does this thread come up, every fukin 3 months or so, why? No one had mentioned that old turncoat dog Fiona Phillips yet either. One that people wont be aware of is Robert Mugabe, apparently got a liking for Saints went he went on a jolly with Mobutu, and they caught a game (Sainst v Liverpool - the channon goal one) on some dodgy African channel - True Story.
  2. One of the only times I have cheered a Chelsea goals was when he scored against the skates and the celebration afterwards was top quality, can still see it now. No matter what, he knew where he came from.
  3. Hope so, £50 at 14/1 at the start of the season, nearly went for WBA at 4/1, thought that was more likely but put off by the odds!
  4. I drove there once, pretty much straight up to the Thames and then headed east, the most direct route on a map. It took 3 hours, bloody nightmare! And that was not really anybtraffic hold ups, just a trudge through the suburbs. I would recommend parking at Osterley for about £3.50 ish and then changing onto the Jubilee Line. Yeah it's a haul on the tube, about an hour, but Soton to Osterley is only an hour max, so you save an hour and about 10 quid parking at the O2, though obviously you have to buy the travel cards, off peak is about 8 quid I think? Basically, don't drive!
  5. probably with a young and upcoming keeper in goal?
  6. do we get a free saints kit and match fee? Which pre match hotel will we be using? I am up for it as well, I am quite good actually, my Mrs actually calls me Messi!
  7. Cannot believe that they would sack McDermott for Adkins, imagine if it was the other way round. Both done great jobs but maybe found a bit wanting at this level, seems strange. Don't think there was anyone better qualified than McDermott to take Reading back up next year, except Adkins maybe? BUt then what are they going to do?
  8. Replying To my own post, how cool. But called it right! Just wanted to share that with you all. Thanks
  9. In fact why don't we just cut to the chase. Lets have a poll, does Guly cut it in the Prem or not, simple. Would stop the happy clappers screaming "he doesn't need to run" or "racist" every time someone dare criticise him.
  10. That's not true at all, two posters don't like Guly, do me a favour. But you haven't played your trump card yet have you Vectis? And we know if pushed, you will have to show it.
  11. yeah - its very easy at the moment to dismiss an opposing opinion (to mine) on Guly, because quite clearly he is **** and is now becoming one of the worst players we have ever had. Sorry, but it really annoys me when he is asked to come on and do a job for 10 F'kin minutes, which is basically keep the ball and track back to help the defence, he did neither, he could have been a liability, and most of all, WE DONT ACTUALLY NEED HIM ANYMORE! PS- if we need someone to stroll around in midfield doing nothing we can now use Gaston for that.
  12. seem to remember last year that we had a lot in the home ends, kicked off in a few places I recall.
  13. Guly On '84 Was mostly ineffectual following his arrival. From SkY Sports. I thought his defending on the Itchen side was criminal - Jesus he is on for 10 minutes, the least he could do is break sweat FFS, if that had cost us a goal then we could have really been in trouble. I know you will get the "you dont have to run at 100 mph to be a good footballer" happy clappers on now, but you feckin do when you are defending. And thats the problem with him really, i honestly think he doesnt give a toss (or he just thinks he is so uch better than what he is), he is not interested and i am just astounded that MP bought him on! Cue - Happy Clappers defence
  14. Yeah, never worked for Fergie did it?
  15. now on sale to 'eligible customers only', not me then. How many have we got? Where does one think the cut will be made, 1st tier of away games quota?
  16. Why would you start a thread like this? I mean what kind of nobber would even consider the question - in the world! FFS
  17. As someone above alluded to, it so bugs me when people rave on and on about how good Gascoigne was. He was, sure, but show me a video of the best of MLT and the best of Gazza, reckon people would really see who was technically the better player. Always great to see the Kop and the fans at Ewood all (nearly all) applaud in the background, rarely seen. My biggest regret, that he didn't go and play for someone better and really prove to the rest of the world how good he was, it worked for Shearer.
  18. He would, but it is part of the distraction process!
  19. If you are smart and there are two or three of you this is what you do: Send the two legit STH's in first, and just as the 'illegal' comes through the other two go to the steward and ask wgere the toilets are etc. thus distracting him to kook behind pointing the way, he then misses the orange light and bingo! Not that that I have employed this method, justs seems obvious.
  20. You just record it as that, you just cant claim the expense against tax (non tax deductible), technically you could also be had for a BIK (Benefit in Kind), depends if you can prove it is wholly and exclusively for biz purposes. So even if you want one ST through your co, you would be wise wise to buy two.
  21. yeah, just rang the club. The only seats they have are box seats at £125 each, thought "thats not too bad.." but then she added that includes sweet FA, drinks on top, ok fair enough, but the best bit was that you had to buy food as well, but no hot food would be available, only sandwiches wnad wraps etc, WTF? A great way to entertain clients... with a cheese sandwich. They do hot food for the other boxes, so why not these ones. ****ing £125 for a seat FFS.
  22. granted, been in it a few years ago and was in a box for the Swansea game, fine when someone else is footing the bill, but no choice on this one unfortunately.
  23. I have to take a couple of customers to the Liverpool game, in hospitality! Certainly not paying for a box, loathed to pay £200 for the Gold Package (buffet meal FFS). Anyone know of the other options? What was the deal with that lounge with a cash bar and food available, is that still on? Anyone try it, any good? Do get a reduced rate if you are a STH? Would appreciate any feedback, FWIW would much rather be in me own seats in the Itchen North.
  24. So what are the options in respect of this fall out? If we look at the evidence and the facts, surely we will see some of the picture, if not all; Matt was in the Pinnacle Group that wanted to buy the club out of administration: This group failed because? Did they have the money? There was that infamous story about that North London geezer that was heading the finance but lived with his mum and dad (almost as funny as the first statue - Cue picture please - just for the laughs). Despite the story, were they still going ahead, I mean if it wasn't for the Swiss (who had to wait for the exclusitivity period to finish I recall, and they were not happy about that), would Pinnacle have proceeded and Matt would have been chairman? If so, is he still peeved about that? So he always had a chip on his shoulder because he missed out? Or did this Micky Fialka story derive from the Swiss to destabilise Pinnacle? But we know (at least that what Matt said the other day) that Matt was introduced to NC etc. on the first game at Millwall. I remember Matt was covering it for Sky (got a SO as he walked round the pitch), so he was there anyway, not like he was invited. Can't blame NC for not remembering, all the new stuff and that and he gets introduced to someone he has never even heard of. WE do know that the swiss were keen to emphasisie that the club didn't need any freeloaders ie ex players rolling up for free tix, did Matt get upset about that? However, there is one bit of evidence that seems to stink the most and that is Benali's issues with the lease agreement and the infamous carpet. We know MLT and Franny are best buddies, and we know thta in leasing agreements all over the world that there are always problems. We know that NC is a finnicky bastard and know what he wants, so he isnt worried about telling Franny whats wrong with his house, Franny understandably doesn't like it and they fall out and Franny loses his job and I recall office space for his company (that i believe went bust anyway, Luca Homes). Clearly MLT is annoyed about this, because i think Matty is a decent bloke and doesn't appreciate people like NC who are decisive and ruthless (which is not neccessarily a bad thing). So my conclusion is that this is based on the Benali issue and Matt has got involved, it has then escalated and really Franny should have said to Matt at the start, stay out of it, this is my issue. So what will come out of it in a year or two is that will will find out that NC is a nasty person because he doesnt like a certain kind of carpet and doesn't honour the T&C's of a domestic lease. Case closed.
