I think he'll get a massive reception when he comes on, obviously not all Saints fans. Think the general 'other' fans (aside from them down the road) really take to SRL as a normal guy who has come up the hard way, he does not come across as some Wayne Rooney 'big time Charlie', and that endears him to most. There wont be a bigger cheer at Wembley this year if he scores tonight.

Steve Guppy never played for Saints -
So what would you have done differently when running a business that was pretty much trading insolvently? You are on here bleating about it, but you didnt know Bale would end up like this, I guess you are aghast taht he did the same with Walcott are you?

Haha is using that quote irony? Or don't you realise?

Good article actually, but even better are the comments at the bottom. One of our boys is looking a bit stupid with a "we are richer than you" attempt, it gets very schoolyard!

Ramirez, his first season, how good has he been?

Love it when people try and excuse poor form with that of saying the other players weren't good enough to keep up with him. I remember a team built around matt, he was on another level but still managed to perform. -

He cut my hair once but spent most of the time chatting me up.

It wasn't about football quality back then, it was a bout being there, having a laugh, having a rumble and thinking the players were like you, down the pub getting hammered (which they were). It's amazing today to see the game and more so, the players and how so very different it is now. Better? Don't know really, reasonable price to stand, meeting up with mates because you knew where they would be standing, even paying at the turnstile on the day. Yeah, the football is probably equal to the 1st div standard these days, but the whole experience was better wasn't it?

This, **** poor interview. Why cant they ask interesting stuff like; Does MP speak English to you Do you have to clean Cortese's car on the weekends? etc.etc.

Just got back yesterday, has a really good two weeks, very hot which helped. Went to Splash and Slide for e day and it was pretty good. It's not Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Laggon but we spent he whole day here. You can do all he rides easily, and its pretty compact so you can let the kids wander if hats okay with you (ignoring the obvious Portugal horror story). It seems like it is definitely a better bet than Aqualand. We did a fair bit of travelling around and nothing beat the fishing village of Alvores, really nice little place that suddenly livens up dramatically when it gets dark but really cheap compared to elsewhere. Avoid Villamoura Marina unless you want to pay NYC prices and there is nothing there anyway, poor mans Porta Banus. Won't bore you with everything, found a couple of great, locally priced restaurants, so if you want specifics let me know.

thanks to everyone, appreciate it.

Going on Saturday, not expecting too much back on this, anyone got any tips, places to eat and visit, adventure parks etc. Going with the Mrs and two kids (6 & 9), so there is no point in telling where some banging club on the strip is! If anyone knows it well, especially cheap good places to eat, would appreciate it. Anyone think Lisbon is worth a call? Again, bearing in mind that two kids will have to like it too! Cheers

Is Cortese still a **** then? As some quickly accused of beinbg, even though i am sure that he doesn't personally vet every bloody ST application. Glad he got it sorted, but like many on here said, its a flawed rule that no one at a lower level dealt with. But according to some it must be Cortese's fault, Jesus.

Dont know how you can say that? I mean, how many games have we won because of him, one, maybe two. We were cryinbg for a bit of 'flair and vision' against QPR and WBA, did he provide it then? So how would he have provided it on Sunday? And how many games have we pretty much played with 10 players, thus giving uis little chance of winning the game? Happy to see him stay another season assuming no one wants to come and pay our money back for him, but he really has to pull his finger out (and i dsont mean run around at 100 mph), there was a lack of understanding in his game, and its pretty inexcusable to lose possesion the amount of time he did last season. Personally, don't believe he came here for the right reasons, and that will be his downfall.

For those of you that don't know, the strike business was set up by the club to make it look like they had to sell the player, rather than we're keen to sell at the first opportunity.

Except he didn't play because he was suspended after being sent off at Palace.
