  1. Yeah, this! He has been a joke for the last few years and its funny how clubs like Stoke took him on. He has not been serious about playing for years, as someone said, he retired years ago. I don't owe him a round of applause but he doesn't deserve anything negative either, He could have been a contender!
  2. Think you are missing the point, it's not a case of bothering me, it's the fact that anyone in their right mind is not going to say we are going to finish 4th. I would imagine he has a sound mind, so wtf would he say that?
  3. Remember having my picture taken with the Tin Man in the concourse before tha game. Also remember just wanting to get on the next train home as I was so gutted, didn't even wait to meet with mates I had gone with. Waited a years to watch the game again and was surprised at how well we played.
  4. Where on earth are these people getting their ideas from? Is Cortese that intimidating that his employees have to toe his party line? We have had from Mo Po and even Nige at the start of the season. It seems like they 'have' to say it. Forget ticket tax and parking, my only concern with NC is how manipulates his employees. I mean surely Paine knows about football and though I wouldn't say it was impossible (Newcastle nearly did it last season with what has proved to be a pretty ordinary side), it just seems ridiculous that these people are actually coming out and saying it. I'm all for NC, but I do wonder how much of a power trip he is on.
  5. Why don't you read the Cortese thread? Jesus, who is this muppet who starts the most pointless threads ever?
  6. he's back, been a little while, in a little while we'll have a list of his Saints credentials.
  7. Not so sure about that, I wouldn't dream of wearing any Saints colours to that town, I honestly do not believe that it would go uncontested and result in some sort of physical abuse.
  8. Don't know too much about the origins of football violence, but as you state, it started in the 60's? Always thought it was the next decade. Did the Mods and Rockers trouble spill over to the terraces?
  9. So when did the trouble (violence) start, was part of the epidemic in the 70's? Anyone pinpoint a moment? We know that it was pretty brutal in the Steve Moran Winner game, when was that, early 80's? What was the score in the 70's, did we play each other much?
  10. One for the older guys maybe? Does anyone recall when you could watch us and them with no trouble? What was it like, was there no animosity? When did the trouble begin? Just interested, all my life we ****in hate em, but I hear it wasn't always like that?
  11. Indeed, same from Fergie, they dont care about us, if we had won they would have never said how great we were and it was obviousl we are a better team than them.
  12. easy to say when you have scraped a vital one - nil win. Dont recall Mancini, Benitez or Rogers taking like that about us, in fact Fergie did though, ah, yeah, after he had scraped a 2-1 win. blah, blah, blah.
  13. Wigan to go down on 37 and we finish 12th, nothing to worry about
  14. If we have to have a minutes silence for Gary Speed, then it is more than warranted for Kevin Moore, inspiration for one of my more finer stories. And please let it be a silence, much more dignified and respectful.
  15. We have the basis of a good squad, the likes of Cork, Spider-Man, Lallana, Clyne, J Rod, Shaw, JWP can be added to, and this can only make us stronger. Look at some teams and they have nowhere near the potential (&already proved in this league) to add to.
  16. Define big?
  17. He is talking about some idiots on here, guess you knew that and guess that makes you.....
  18. Yeah, shame. Shame you think every player should just step up, especially after being out for so long. Shame that he replaced Gaston at Reading and tore them apart.
  19. It seems that he has also lost his billing on MOTD, sure it was Lallana, it now SRL.
  20. 4.3 tackles per game, really? Should be doing that a minute.

    New York

Best thing I did was take the subway for a long journey to Coney Island and ride The Cyclone. A traditional wooden roller coaster , but a hell of a ride. The whole place was awesome, a real throw back to old school seafront amusements. A pastrami sandwich on rye at Katz deli is well worth a lunch. If you are a bit flush then take he subway to Harlem and have a stroll to The Apollo and then lunch or dinner at Red Rooster qis great, met the chef Marcus Sammuelsson, very famous in NY, bloody Arsenal fan though! Also grat for food was the Spotted Pig downtown as well as the original Nobu, and Buddakhan was great for Asian food. And if you fancy a real NY pizza then Grimaldi on the other side of The Brooklyn Bridge, a bit touristy, a bit of a queue but really great pizza all he same. Enjoy
  22. to be honest mate, if you contributed to a book in the same way in which you construct your threads it will be a very dull and uninteresting read. I can't believe that you are Gary.
  23. I heard that Cortese was going to charge more for the seats on the aisle, 'exit seats' i.e. more legroom and a better and quicker exit experience.
  24. You have to the biggest knob on here, really.
