  1. He cut my hair once but spent most of the time chatting me up.
  2. It wasn't about football quality back then, it was a bout being there, having a laugh, having a rumble and thinking the players were like you, down the pub getting hammered (which they were). It's amazing today to see the game and more so, the players and how so very different it is now. Better? Don't know really, reasonable price to stand, meeting up with mates because you knew where they would be standing, even paying at the turnstile on the day. Yeah, the football is probably equal to the 1st div standard these days, but the whole experience was better wasn't it?
  3. This, **** poor interview. Why cant they ask interesting stuff like; Does MP speak English to you Do you have to clean Cortese's car on the weekends? etc.etc.
  4. JEEZ! Are you married?
  5. Just got back yesterday, has a really good two weeks, very hot which helped. Went to Splash and Slide for e day and it was pretty good. It's not Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Laggon but we spent he whole day here. You can do all he rides easily, and its pretty compact so you can let the kids wander if hats okay with you (ignoring the obvious Portugal horror story). It seems like it is definitely a better bet than Aqualand. We did a fair bit of travelling around and nothing beat the fishing village of Alvores, really nice little place that suddenly livens up dramatically when it gets dark but really cheap compared to elsewhere. Avoid Villamoura Marina unless you want to pay NYC prices and there is nothing there anyway, poor mans Porta Banus. Won't bore you with everything, found a couple of great, locally priced restaurants, so if you want specifics let me know.
  6. thanks to everyone, appreciate it.
  7. that good eh?

    Albufeira

Going on Saturday, not expecting too much back on this, anyone got any tips, places to eat and visit, adventure parks etc. Going with the Mrs and two kids (6 & 9), so there is no point in telling where some banging club on the strip is! If anyone knows it well, especially cheap good places to eat, would appreciate it. Anyone think Lisbon is worth a call? Again, bearing in mind that two kids will have to like it too! Cheers
  9. Is Cortese still a **** then? As some quickly accused of beinbg, even though i am sure that he doesn't personally vet every bloody ST application. Glad he got it sorted, but like many on here said, its a flawed rule that no one at a lower level dealt with. But according to some it must be Cortese's fault, Jesus.
  10. Walcott Danny and Rod Wallace
  11. Dont know how you can say that? I mean, how many games have we won because of him, one, maybe two. We were cryinbg for a bit of 'flair and vision' against QPR and WBA, did he provide it then? So how would he have provided it on Sunday? And how many games have we pretty much played with 10 players, thus giving uis little chance of winning the game? Happy to see him stay another season assuming no one wants to come and pay our money back for him, but he really has to pull his finger out (and i dsont mean run around at 100 mph), there was a lack of understanding in his game, and its pretty inexcusable to lose possesion the amount of time he did last season. Personally, don't believe he came here for the right reasons, and that will be his downfall.

    Nike.

I heard it was George at ADSA?
  13. For those of you that don't know, the strike business was set up by the club to make it look like they had to sell the player, rather than we're keen to sell at the first opportunity.
  14. Except he didn't play because he was suspended after being sent off at Palace.
  15. Yeah, this! He has been a joke for the last few years and its funny how clubs like Stoke took him on. He has not been serious about playing for years, as someone said, he retired years ago. I don't owe him a round of applause but he doesn't deserve anything negative either, He could have been a contender!
  16. Think you are missing the point, it's not a case of bothering me, it's the fact that anyone in their right mind is not going to say we are going to finish 4th. I would imagine he has a sound mind, so wtf would he say that?
  17. Remember having my picture taken with the Tin Man in the concourse before tha game. Also remember just wanting to get on the next train home as I was so gutted, didn't even wait to meet with mates I had gone with. Waited a years to watch the game again and was surprised at how well we played.
  18. Where on earth are these people getting their ideas from? Is Cortese that intimidating that his employees have to toe his party line? We have had from Mo Po and even Nige at the start of the season. It seems like they 'have' to say it. Forget ticket tax and parking, my only concern with NC is how manipulates his employees. I mean surely Paine knows about football and though I wouldn't say it was impossible (Newcastle nearly did it last season with what has proved to be a pretty ordinary side), it just seems ridiculous that these people are actually coming out and saying it. I'm all for NC, but I do wonder how much of a power trip he is on.
  19. Why don't you read the Cortese thread? Jesus, who is this muppet who starts the most pointless threads ever?
  20. he's back, been a little while, in a little while we'll have a list of his Saints credentials.
  21. Not so sure about that, I wouldn't dream of wearing any Saints colours to that town, I honestly do not believe that it would go uncontested and result in some sort of physical abuse.
  22. Don't know too much about the origins of football violence, but as you state, it started in the 60's? Always thought it was the next decade. Did the Mods and Rockers trouble spill over to the terraces?
  23. So when did the trouble (violence) start, was part of the epidemic in the 70's? Anyone pinpoint a moment? We know that it was pretty brutal in the Steve Moran Winner game, when was that, early 80's? What was the score in the 70's, did we play each other much?
  24. One for the older guys maybe? Does anyone recall when you could watch us and them with no trouble? What was it like, was there no animosity? When did the trouble begin? Just interested, all my life we ****in hate em, but I hear it wasn't always like that?
