  1. I liked the Forest goal from the free kick - he was miles out and it went like an absolute rocket.
  2. The Spa Tavern.....that's very familiar...where was that? For the life of me I can't remember but know I use to go there
  3. Lol, just had a look. That's brilliant. You'd have thought they'd need planning permission for that!
  4. Also worth mentioning BT Vision has been grabbing your attention. We're not in a Virgin Media area and Sky knew it, so when BT vision came to the party it was a god send. We're running at a 25% discount for 12 months.
  5. TBF we didn't win that game last year
  6. I'm certain they did throw some money at it...according to a Plymouth fan at work anyway. Apparently the council spent £136k
  7. Weren't they after a 40,000 all seater stadium....until recently? I wouldn't want them to go under either - fair point by MLG and Window Cleaner above though. Apparently they lobbed a couple of million at their world cup bid. Bonkers.
  8. First Saints Game:- April 1982 home to Villa. Lost 3 nil (Villa won European Cup a couple of weeks later) First Away Game:- QPR away 1989. St. Mary's or the Dell:-St. Mary's probably, but miss being able to bellow at the players at the Dell knowing they could hear you Best current player:- Adam Lallana. Favourite Players technically other than Le Tiss:- Pahars, Anders, Favourite Players cult wise other than Le Tiss:- Michael Svensson, Franny, Dowie, Razor, . Favourite unsung heroes:- Carlton Palmer, Mickey Adams. Favourite Manager:- Gordon Strachan. Most hated Players:- Lee Todd, Olivia Bernard, Davenport Worst Players:- Lee Todd - he should never have been able to call himself a professional footballer. Followed by Paul Moody, Davenport, Olivier Barnard, Neill McCann, Simon Gillett. Worst Manager:-Branfoot. Anyone who sat through that complete pile of crap week in week out is truly a proper fan (I did 42 games home and away in 91/92) Where will Saints be in 5 years time realistically:- Premier League.
  9. I did mine playing footy in 1994 when i was 23. They didn't plaster me for a week, then realised their mistake and put me in for 5 weeks. Took ages for it to feel right again and is still weak now (although I had rolled it quite badly when I was 11....didn't go to the hospital then though). I would say I didn't play footy for about 4 months, and even now I wear a strapping when I play. I do remember the consultant at the time saying it was worse than a break, but maybe that's because I did it quite badly. As for crutches and football games, I went about a mile on my crutches from the car to the ground for the last game of the season away to West Ham (the 3-3 where we stayed up). Never sweated so much in my life, so hopping up a few steps shouldn't be that big a deal for you - take Hamster's advice!
  10. It was so much better when Wilde embraced all ex players / managers, gave them free tickets, allowed them to shake hands for £70k a year and everyone loved him. Oh for the good old days where all were welcomed and loved.....and we didn't have a pot to **** in, got relegated, when bust etc, etc.
  11. To be fair Keane said that he'd never spoken to Brum and accused them of using his name as a publicity stunt.
  12. To a certain degree you're right. Cortese and MLT should bury the hatchet, but either one of them could start the process off, it's not just NC. It would have been nice to see him get a couple of tickets to the boardroom and sit next to NC. We should value MLT. We should also value NC. Both are very important - MLT to our past and NC to our future (I honestly believe his continued interest is critical for the club - if he was to go I'd feel very, very nervous). I do think MLTs request for 10 tickets is a bit steep, and is a tad unreasonable IMHO. The club have sold him 3 which is ok. They've met his request. Job done. Unfortunately the problem seems to go back to Pinnacle. I don't doubt MLT had the clubs survival at the heart of his efforts - that's indisputable. However, every Saints fan with a brain could see that Fialka was a con man as soon as he appeared on Sky. The way Matty continues to maintain (well, he did in his book) that they could have bought the club and only the threat of additional points from the FL stopped them is, frankly, naive. If he does really still think that in his heart of hearts then fair enough, but it demonstrates that he has poor business sense. I think he'd be better served to come out and say that he realises now that there was no substance, and he was a bit of a chump for getting involved with that group. Surely he sees that Markus was a much better proposition and, if he knew Markus was involved, he should have shown his love of the club and got Pinnacle to step aside for the greater good. He may not have known of course, and the Administrator should have chosen more wisely. For the good of the club, both men would be / should be advised to thrash out the issues and work together. Egos to one side puhlease.
  13. Underrated? By whom?
  14. They probably are going to try. However, when his club say they want more than £2.75 they'll fail.
  15. 'Just 86,000 miles'....that would imply the owner thinks it's low miles, which it isn't. Seems a tad pricey, but worth a look and an offer. The engine is sweet...had it in a Passat and liked it a lot
  16. Wouldn't it be more likely that they were Barnards mates down here for the weekend?
  17. Looks like I may have been right:smug:
  18. Clearly that's before he fills his weekly wheelbarrow up with cash...
  19. 3 nil to Saints. This will be a defining point in our season.
  20. Not sure about him (not his ability, i should add). 4 clubs have been interested this season (at least) and he hasn't gone to any. Maybe the clubs weren't right for him, but he'd probably have known that before he went to talk to them (wrong division / wrong end of the division) and he strung all of them, including Bompey, for a few days. It's starting to become a pantomime - maybe he's going to go to Burnley instead if they've got a bit of cash from the parachute and still have a chance of promotion. Personally I don't believe he was offered the Saints job (but the reliable info is that he applied so must have been pretty keen). More likely once it came out he wasn't first choice he decided he wasn't going to be second choice....which is fair enough. Whichever way you cut it, he's not staying because of loyalty, he's staying because he thinks there's a better offer down the line.
  21. I had that shirt...and the yellow flamed one too. Nice.
  22. I'm pretty sure a quick search of Youtube would see Blackpool singing the same song to higher division teams in the last couple of years....and would guarantee that they were 'disrespectful' to Liverpool when they won there earlier in the season.
  23. Just heard on SSN that it was the first one that was given but the lino then flagged for offside.
  24. Disgrace. Bottom line is that it's cheating.
  25. Fair point. With Seabourne though there's a good yardstick playing alongside him - Fonte. He's a definite Championship class CB and I just can't see DS being anywhere near him in terms of ability or potential. Different types of player, admittedly, but IMHO he's a decent L1 centre half, but am not sure he could be a top end Championship centre back. I'd be happy to keep him and see how he develops, but if there was better who was available then I wouldn't lose too much sleep if he became a squad payer. All IMHO of course.
