  1. ... you loose your hair from your head but it is thriving on you neck, back, nostrils ... hair even starts to sprout from your ears, which also seem to be getter bigger.
  2. Almost 50,000 posts and 1,000 pages! It could definitely make a book or maybe even a film or a TV series. I used to think that when Dream Team (remember Harchester United) was on Sky that this was far fetched but this story really takes it to another level. So many villains and comedy characters to cast ... (by the way - who owns the rights? Fitzhugh Fella for starting the thread, the SWF, all the contributors ...?)
  3. ... and then change at West Ham for the District line (or H & City line)to Upton Park
  4. I was there. I recall it was against Fulham at Loftus Road and it was a last minute equaliser to make it 2-2 with Niemi heading against the bar (post?) with the rebound bundled in by Killer.
  5. I heard recently that Friis-Hansen was very complimentary of the set up and ambition of the club but couldn't cope with the rigour and demands of the management (NC?) and is now back in Denmark. He had good contacts in Scandinavia, France and Belgium and therefore may have recommended SDR but I'm not sure on this.
  6. I trust that was a genuine error transposing the teams ... and not a nightmare premonition!
  7. I was there, still mentally scarred ...
  8. A couple of cup matches in the 80's against Tottenham (vague recollection, replays I think) and ... ... 1984 ... forever in my memory!
  9. 13:11 Comment From PompeyWallasey What is your taste in music David? I have heard that you may appreciate the work of Bad Company. LOL
  10. Could only get a ticket in the Pompey stand for Moran's 1-0 in 1984. So much pent up emotion and how I managed to sit still when the goal went in, I still don't know. Then afterwards it was so, so difficult not to laugh let alone smile. What a feeling! Actually smiling now just thinking about it!
  11. Bet we dont
  12. Looks like some of the skates (the decent ones) are falling on their swords. I have to say I do feel just a tad sorry for them ... A sad decision for me. After 55 years of supporting Pompey I have decided that if Pompey are heading for troubled waters they`re going there without me this time. The last 2/3 years have been pretty nightmarish for supporters and just when things appeared to be improving we have talk of arrest warrants for the clubs `new` owner. I`ve supported Pompey from the 4th Division to the Premiership but sadly I can`t face the prospect of again watching Sky every minute of the day for news about Pompeys plight, scouring The News, will they win the case?, will they survive?, will they be sold? It almost brought me to a standstill and I`m not going there again. Hopefully it wont reach that stage but it`s not looking very promising. So there you have it Pompey will always be my team but there has to be life away from football! re: A sad decision for me. Over-dramatic but not quite worthy of an Oscar. Posted 23 Nov 2011 18:02 re: A sad decision for me. Understandable. And as Queen would sing Another one bites the dust :blue: re: A sad decision for me. I reckon more than one fan is going to feel this way. Not sure that Pompey resides at FP any more, think its only to be found in the hearts of the fans these days. The organisations that have taken over at Fratton these past few years seem more interested in fraud, theft and dragging our proud name through the gutter than rebuilding our club. I have a lot of sympathy for the stance that BitM is taking. It is admirable that the fans stick with their team through the bad times but I am thinking that their loyalty is misplaced and certainly not reciprocated by a series of crooked owners. In my view the club I have supported since the 1940s has gone, and in its place is something dedicated to screwing as much money as possible out of me whilst salting away any profits into private bank accounts. Over drematic? Maybe. But somebody give me a more hopeful (and plausible) version of the scenario we find ourselves dropped in. :blue: Posted 23 Nov 2011 18:22 re: A sad decision for me. Gotta be honest, I feel pretty similar. I have a ticket to the Scum game, god knows when I'll return to Fratton after that. Overpriced tickets to watch overpaid players for a club I barely recognise. I really do think relegation would do us wonders. We become a cheaper club to buy and might actually be taken on by someone with an interest rather than another crook. You then use cheaper players with something to prove and start winning games. The feelgood factor returns and so do the fans. But at the moment, only an exodus will happen and it's happening quickly.
  13. You're going down a long and winding road there
  14. More birds pulling pints at half time is what's needed, not prancing on the pitch (they can wear short skirts behind the bar but only if easy on the eye).
  15. Guy at work was Richard (****) Heade. He insisted it was pronounced "heed"
  16. First time I've seen that since at the match. At the time I gave the ref the benefit of the doubt and thought the keeper was off his line and therefore a retake but no another bad decision
  17. Yes I was there. Defo West Ham away. Great header and disallowed for no apparent reason by Rennie.
  18. Yep, also fueled by the fact it so unlike him to miss from there as well. As for the second pen, thought it was going over for a sec!
  19. In the Kingsland and had a clear view ... defo outside
  20. I'm on Huddersfield to win L1 at 11/2 so they'd pull their finger out and stop drawing so many matches!
  21. could well have been ... I saw 18/1 but rather conservatively took the 11/2 on promotion as I couldn't see us winning the league (doh!). still 11/2 looking good!
  22. Fez for the trip to Dellhurst if that counts
  23. in the 60's & 70's it was sung whilst jumping up and down on the terraces Knees up Mother Brown Knees up Mother Brown Under the table you must go Ee-aye, Ee-aye, Ee-aye-oh If I catch you bending I'll saw your legs right off Knees up, knees up Never get the breeze up Knees up Mother Brown Oh my, what a rotten song What a rotten song What a rotten song Oh my, what a rotten song And what a rotten singer Too-oo-ooh
  24. That result hurt like hell ... the TV kept playing the replays of Leeds taking the p*ss at 6-0 leading to goal seven and how wonderful they were. Everton thumping us 8-0, the FA Cup semi defeat against Everton at Highbury and more recently the DSBs beating us 4-1 at fartton are also the lowest points in my Saints life. Anyway onwards and upwards now and together as one!
