The final points spread is now at 85-86 points for Saints and 81-82 for Huddersfield, which puts us four points clear in second at the end of the season (the difference in the spread was six before the Rochdale game). We are also still clear favourites to finish second (betting without Brighton)1.25 Saints, 5.5 Huddersfield, 11 Peterborough. It really is in our hands but I just get the felling we may do this the hard way and may go to the final game.

... remarkable indeed. I did wonder at half time what he could do if we brought him on as a sub in the second half ... certainly more than Guly or Chaplow did in the first half.

No ... the bookies assess the likelihood of an event, express this in odds (with a profit margin built in). Market demand will have some influence but it would be very minor in a market like this. Generally it is a pretty good guide to the probability of an outcome (independent, without all the rose tinted views on one side or the "bears" on the other). So if you were to take out the margin they build in, their assessment would be roughly something like this: Brighton 50% chance of winning the league, Saints 25% chance, anyone else 25%

To provide some balance, it is worth reflecting on the latest odds to win the league. 4/5 Brighton, 2/1 Saints, 12/1 and above the rest. So it's basically a "two horse race" with Brighton favourites but with Saints by no means out of it.
