We have a new sponsor so it's hardly surprising ...

Glad you pointed out the match is on Sunday. I was going to turn up Saturday. :-)
-
On the betting front ... The final points spread is now at 85-86 points for Saints and 81-82 for Huddersfield, which puts us four points clear in second at the end of the season (the difference in the spread was six before the Rochdale game). We are also still clear favourites to finish second (betting without Brighton)1.25 Saints, 5.5 Huddersfield, 11 Peterborough. It really is in our hands but I just get the felling we may do this the hard way and may go to the final game.

Not worn colours for last 4 games - 100% record - same again Saturday
-
Sporting Index have the final points spread at 87-88 points for Saints and 81-82 for Huddersfield, which puts us six points clear in second at the end of the season. I hope they're right! Might buy on the Huddersfield spread.

Bet365 - Market - Betting w/o Brighton. I agree it is to tempting cover over. Might seem like tainted money if it did come off though.
-
Really down to us to f*ck it up. Latest betting to come second w/o Brighton Southampton 1.13 Huddersfield 7 Peterborough 21 MK Dons 251 So looking good according to the bookies ... ... though might be worth a saver on Huddersfield

Food was good when I went there. Handy for the ground. Trip advisor ratings ok. You could do worse.

Why did Bradley Wright Phillips get a standing ovation FFS?
KK the 2nd replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
Back to BWP ... It is hard to really understand why he is/was so popular. I think it has something to do with the general enjoyment he showed on the pitch and when scoring for us in the past. Anyway, anyone notice he was laughing at the chant ... "He’s always offside, He’s always offside, Bradley Wright Phillips, He’s always offside” -
A couple of interesting markets from the bookies Skybet - Betting without Brighton (i.e. to come second) 1.53 Saints 3.25 Huddersfield 11.0 Peterborough ... would indicate we are more likely than not to get second and that it is between us and Huddersfield Bet365 To make the playoffs 2.50 Saints ... given we must be in the top six this would indicate we are less likely to be in the playoffs than finish second
-
... remarkable indeed. I did wonder at half time what he could do if we brought him on as a sub in the second half ... certainly more than Guly or Chaplow did in the first half.
-
Leave me alone ...
-
Guly is like a lighthouse in the middle of the desert .... brilliant ... ... but at the same time ... ... f*c*ing useless
-
... not forgetting the under west. Never known anything like it before or since.
-
Funnily enough I was thinking of forest away in 77. Seen so many great games over almost 50 years but I remember my heart really pounding at the end of that match. Ossie was brilliant that day.
-
Thought he was unusually poor yesterday and central midfield is lacking at the moment. We are missing Morgan.
-
1. Ron Davies ... got to be the best ever Saints' signing 2. Kevin Keegan 3. Peter Shilton 4. Alan Ball 5. Mick Channon (from Man City)
-
can't see it being that dull
-
anyone got a link for commentary?
-
I don't want to play scabble with you! ... we do make this hard ... enough to make to me think about starting smoking after 20 years though
-
I thought it was quite good; at least compared to the other suggestions ...
-
Any win will do for me. It's the 3 pionts we need though a convincing win would be great.

Anyone else starting to worry about fixture pile-up ?
KK the 2nd replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
No ... the bookies assess the likelihood of an event, express this in odds (with a profit margin built in). Market demand will have some influence but it would be very minor in a market like this. Generally it is a pretty good guide to the probability of an outcome (independent, without all the rose tinted views on one side or the "bears" on the other). So if you were to take out the margin they build in, their assessment would be roughly something like this: Brighton 50% chance of winning the league, Saints 25% chance, anyone else 25% -

To provide some balance, it is worth reflecting on the latest odds to win the league. 4/5 Brighton, 2/1 Saints, 12/1 and above the rest. So it's basically a "two horse race" with Brighton favourites but with Saints by no means out of it.
