Team will be interesting. Probably mostly the same as tonight. Maybe Adams in for Mara,
-
Fair play tonight was excellent. Clearly some home truths happened after that Forest game. And we’ve binned the hoofball and the back 5. It was like watching us under Ralph tonight, fantastic performance.

Id fully expect to see the likes of Ortega, Lewis, Ake, Phillips, Palmer, Alvarez along with some bigger names depending who Pep is planning on playing at the weekend. They'd all walk into our side though. -
Not the only one who is less than impressed with him by the sounds of it.

The front "6" that trained yesterday were JWP Diallo Elyounoussi Mara AArmstrong Djenepo... if thats how we start we are b*ggered. -
I think KWP will be off, whether it's this window or in the summer, and who knows how Tino will come back.

Although that is true, (and any win in the premier league is a good one especially if it’s away) but this is the worst Everton team in my lifetime, and they have an awful manager.
-
And how many of those are 1. Premier league quality 2. His signings Cant imagine he would have picked those players if he had a choice in it.
-
The fact we played the Forest one without one was a failure IMO. If we manage to play the Everton game without one too, might well be too late.

Karsdop linked - RB from Roma. They want rid of him, and us, Bournemouth and Monza have enquired…one to keep an eye on maybe. https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/roma-karsdorp-monza-southampton-bournemouth-calciomercato-news-10-gennaio-2023

Sounds like he’s joined. Welcome Jason.

New Signings- How Will We Line Up?
Saint Garrett replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
The signings scream 4-3-3, so it will be interesting to see us trot out with 5 at the back. Orsic is a wide left player, and Alcaraz looks like he's an attacking midfielder in a 3 as SaintScott has said above. I don't see Alcaraz playing the "Lavia" role. If we could have something like the below, we suddenly look like we have a decent chance of staying up... -----------Bazunu KWP -- ABK -- Salisu -- Perraud ------------Lavia--------------- --------Jwp ---Alcaraz-------- Doku -------ST-------Orsic -
That would be a class signing, not sure I see us spending €8m on Orsic, €15m on Alcaraz, €25m on Doku, and bringing in a CB and spending €20m odd on a striker though. Annoyingly, if these players were bought at the start of the season, (and I'm well aware they haven't actually signed), who knows where we could have pushed onto this sesaon under Ralph. However, even if we signed all these and didn't sign a striker, it would still be a failure IMO, as it's the one position we are desperate for and goals win games...!
-
Yeah it is the logical approach, and tbh, I thought it was underway already. Which makes the appointment of Jones even more baffling, as I’m sure they don’t want all these clubs to play long ball shite.
-
Nothing new there I don’t think. It’s been pretty obvious what they’re doing,
-
Cheers Nathan.

Skysports have no idea. They never do. Their sources are basically everyone else on twitter. When was the last time they broke a story, rather than just reported a story that was already in the public domain??
-
I don’t agree with you. It’s not like you start negotiations in January. They could and should have had a new striker in the door to play against Forest, we have known we’ve needed a striker since Broja went back to Chelsea last May. A new striker would have lifted the fans, and who knows, might have been the difference between us winning and losing against Forest! IMO, this is not a standard window, because we are bottom and desperate.
-
They've definitely put the "2pm" bit to mug off SkySports....
-
I can't see him being the "6" that we need, seems more of a replacement for Elyounoussi/Armstrong, which is not a bad thing. Still probably need a holding midf though.
-
Sounds positive.

Enjoyable listen as ever, and insightful as always. Difficult to disagree with anything on there. Cheers
