Tbh, I don't think it's Adidas'd problem that we're not in stripes. It's clearly a demand from the club that we don't want stripes. The Adidas striped kits are fine, just the club doesn't want them Still think the Montreal kit in Red and White would be a great kit.

Yeah, Hull on a Tuesday night is a *****. Think we would have taken loads up there if it was on a Saturday as well, but can't see it being great. I went there the other year on a Tuesday in the NPC, wasn't a very large number of Saints there that night,

Exactly. We'll be a better more experienced side next season though, and hopefully Pochettino will have got his system across to the players more over pre season.

Thing with WBA, is they won't have Lukaku or Fortune this season. They caused us plenty of problems. I'm more confident with them not being there, I do rate them as a very handy side though.

The worrying thing is if we have a 'standard' Saints start, and don't pick up many points. Then we'll be going into the tougher fixtures needing results. Lets hope that those days are long gone !

Is this officially the 'Build Up Thread'? Think they'll be a full house there and very high demand due to it being on Sky and a Monday last year. Let's hope they sort tickets on last years attendance.

No reason why we can't be top after 4 games tbf.... Makes a big difference to last year playing Man City, Man Utd, Wigan, Everton, Villa and Arsenal in our first 6 games to playing WBA, Norwich, Sunderland, WHU, Liverpool and Palace. The only one which doesn't look winnable out of those is Liverpool away. You could really go with we've got an easy start until mid November...

I don't think we have either to be honest. Banega is probably closer to Cork than Wanyama is. Wanyama is more of a Diame/Viera/Mulumbu power player which I feel we could have done with last season. Banega does look a hell of a talent though. Could be that we've leaked that story so it hurries Valencia along.

Arsenal fans seem pretty sure it's us at home. Not sure how that works. Wouldn't be an awful fixture, we'll sell out, not too expensive, and a decent away game. Plus we owe them one for the shambles last year.

I think he's ok at the job he does, but how that kind of player is sought after enough to even consider that kind of wage is just awful.

The thing is, you can at least argue that it's linked to stripes. Even last years you can say it was still clinging into the stripes. If we go to a plain red shirt, in no way at all can you attach it to being stripes. It's just another dull boring plain shirt which isn't ours.

It's very unlikely that you're going to find a kit that it so unique that's it just ours. We still play in stripes and have for almost all our history. We wear stripes - we look like Sunderland stoke Exeter brentford Sheffield Utd etc... Play in plain red - we look like man utd, arsenal, Liverpool, Cardiff, and whoever else. We should just stick with tradition, our NPC promotion kit was absolutely lovely, and no reason for us not to have proper stripes. I am surprised how many people are just seeing these red kits and accepting them. Ok some of them are alright, but just not for us. We are Southampton, we play in stripes.
