50% of the squad from the Academy - is it viable?
Saint Garrett replied to tajjuk's topic in The Saints
Erm, yes potentially, although unlikely. The next batch of english players will have to come through someone's academy and if ours is one of the best in europe then why not? Do think it would be hard to bring them through if we're fighting for relegation most seasons though. In the ideal world the young players would be introduced gradually from the bench and then given the opportunities when they're ready, however it's a big ask when the games are worth so much. JWP has been fantastic for us so far this season and looks like he's got a great future. Its a hard one to answer if we don't know how good the players are. -
Would quite like an Adidas kit. Wouldn't be surprised to see us go for an Italian make though.

Will be interesting to see whether a 'sell out' is actually sold out. Man Utd was a 'sell out' despite the fact there were seats everywhere.

WHU - win Spurs - draw WBA - draw. 5 points, Adkins is a legend,

Can you really see us signing a 'world class defender'? Mental.

This. Reads the game very well and quite quick. Considerably better than what we had previously.

I'm watching Wales VS Scotland instead. Foxy is playing.

And Kris Temple said he would commentate on their game as Elvis if Eddie Howe or Redknapp were made manager. as 'he had more chance'. Woops... Certainly an odd one, shows that Burnley have no ambition whatsoever.

List of who is playing when. Handy that both of Yoshi's games are in Europe rather than having to travel out to Asia. Anyone use one or know people that have ? Thinking of buying one. Thoughts ?

Think we showed it at Everton as well. They just had 20 minutes where they tore us apart, for the rest of the game we were very much in control and looked like scoring.

Half of the people who watch Reading are Chelsea fans anyway who can't get to games. -

I live in Basingstoke. I know about 4 or 5 other people who also live in Basingstoke and support Southampton. In my close group of friends there is me, 8 west ham fans, and 1 chelsea fan. -
Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?
Saint Garrett replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Of course he's going to say that as he's a very modest guy. Ramirez is far superior to Lallana tbf. Prob not a lot in it techincally but Gaston knows when and where to play it. -

Great to have plans, however we need to concentrate on the pitch activities and selling out the current amount of seats first ! The ticket office just wouldn't cope with any more seats to sell. -
Guly got me on Monday night as well. ******.

Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?
Saint Garrett replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I don't think he was awful, and I do think he is one of our best players. However I have just got used to him putting in performances to change and win games on his own, maybe I am just expecting too much of him, or maybe he has reached his level. -
Exactly. What was the point in the club stating you get 20 loyalty points for going to the Sheffield Wednesday match. when infact all you get is priority to the next fixture, It's going to get messy towards teh end of the season when they have different games you can have been to. If you have been to 5 away games including Wigan, Norwich and Swansea you get priority to this game. Shambles

This is golden. I look forward to the next instalment.

I have never met such a grouply deluded set of fans. Ok you meet the occasional fan from a club who is deluded, but these lot are on another level. I got a text from a WHU mate the other day, saying: 'We're going places this season, playing some great football and winning games, it doesn't get much better than this'. Quite incredible seeing as they cant put 3 passes together without playing the long ball. Not sure why they care about us either. Get the impression it's because we play good football. Jealous maybe ? They need to get that chip off their shoulder. It's like Brighton mkII. Who would have thought massive old West Ham would be bothered by little old Southampton.
-
He got booked for diving at their place last season I believe. But then Noble dived for their penalty as Sharp didn't touch him but they seem to forget that bit.
-
Would have thought he'll play in the Leeds game, rather than chucking him in then.
-
Also good that we paid no agents fee or anything to sign him. Good on Cortese.
