Not if he's not fit enough. -
How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed?
Saint Garrett replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Ramirez is our link between teh holding midfielders and attack, as are the wide midfielders. Also on Saturday we started with Rodriguez playing RF and Lambert playing LF, with them both pretty much playing on Everton's RB and LB. It was a good game plan in theory and it left Ramirez to float, but those 2 players didnt do that job successfully for very much of the game, it worked for the first 25 minutes as I remember Lambert putting in a tackle in the LB postiion early on, but it wasn't natural to them. As long as we're learning we'll get there -
Long-Ball - Does it work? Who does it the most?
Saint Garrett replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
An aimless 'long ball' from CB to CF is completely different to a 'long ball' across the back, or a 'long ball' down the wing for a player to run into. All it says is that it is a pss of more than 25 yards. -

So what counts as a 'long ball' ? -
Taxi for Guly- Up north as far as possible
Saint Garrett replied to Saints Warrior's topic in The Saints
I miss Guly -
It is a joke that they're allowed to bring in these players though to be fair. What other L1 clubs would sign players like Buszaky and Brian Howard. They should be left to pick up the dregs that noone else wants not outbit fellow teams.

Yes, but that was a tad different, we were playing a CM out right midfield. Schneiderlin is never going to be a very good right midfielder. -

I agree With Cork, Morgan and Davis playing in the CM roles, Ramirez and Lallana wide of Lambert, we will be a lot tighter IMO. JWP is a cracking little player, but I think we need to be careful playing him every week in a losing side. -
Big problem with Reeves is that he is so small, so any manager is going to target that as a weakness.
-
Their game plan was wack it long and feed off mistakes/miscontrols/knockdowns, or just boot it into the flanks for the forwards to chase down. I thought they were poor, but had a game plan and are very well drilled at it.

Get the impression this is why we wanted this Kana-Biyik guy, as he's supposedly a bit of a unit.

Got some more then although it doesnt mention how many more..... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/extra-hammers-tickets-on-way-402831.aspx Saints have been given a further allocation tickets for the trip to West Ham United on Saturday 20th October. I don't think our home support is amazing, but it's not that bad either. Atleast our fans try and have a go the majority of the games. After going to both Everton and Arsenal, I can safely say we're considerably better than them.
-
When we play them, the problem will be the arial battles. The only one we're going to realistically win is Lambert VS their CB. The rest all over the pitch we probably won't. They'll just keep the ball in the air as much as possible and then bully their way through the game. Yer we might tear them apart like Swansea did, but we're going to have to boss the game to do that. Jarvis is a good player, as is Diame and Carroll is a handful despite him not being very good.
-
I think if we're in the bottom 3 by christmas I'll be worrying. We have our 'easiest' set of fixtures of the season now, and a really tough run in at the turn of the year. So yes, I now expect us to start putting some results together. Although I'd say 7-12th could be seen as a tad ambitious.
-
Apart from we won't be playing Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton every week.
-
If we played like West Ham, I wouldn't have spent £600 odd quid on a ST.
-
I think you have to wear a different colour shirt/shorts and socks to the opposition, which is why on occasions you see Man Utd playing in their home shirt but with black shorts. We could play in white shirts and shorts but with the home socks at Chelsea. Oh ok...maybe I am wrong then.
-
Don't think it would matter who is in our defence, if the midfield can't be solid enough, then we're always going to give the opposition a chance to overload our defence.
-
Got mine through the post yesterday, but just as my Everton tickets...the envelope was open, but none of the tickets had gone missing. Can they not even seal an envelope ?! Also not sure whether they will have gone and sold the seats which we would be using....only 2000 left. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20121001/less-than-2000-left-for-southampton_2236884_2925737

Not looking forward to Carroll vs Fonte or Diame vs JWP!!
-
They're far better at the back, technically our players are better going forward but that bit of experience is helping them grind out results ATM.
-
The fact you've got to use each kit atleast 8 times...
-
I think we're better than West Ham. Despite this they're probably more effective at the moment. Lumping long balls in and feeding off the scraps. They've also got the strength in the middle to grind out results and break up play. Still wouldn't be surprised if they're down there come the end of the season
