  1. I do not agree with any of these so called honours, to my mind I meet more people desrving of our gratitude when I trawl the charity shops of shirley than within these lists. What gives with all this calling people 'sir' and 'ma'am', seriously, what does it mean and why do we do it?

I shall be dead. Thanks for cheering me up.
  4. I have somewhere to be, even starting at 9 I would miss it. We never sorted that 'run' to a matech that was discussed in the summer.

  6. 53) 500 P S is a M = 500 Pounds Sterling is a Monkey
  7. Dr Who, can you edit the OP to include the answers already given please?
  8. I paid just over £6 last night from the Cricks to The Fleming and have in the past paid over £9 for the same journey. I understand that there are different rates and different plated vehicles but surely an identical journey should cost the same no matter what? I tend to use happy cabs nowadays. I really do think that 'boundaries' should be abolished too. It seems to be just another tax on commuting to me, if anything they should encourage people to leave their car at home for longer journeys by introducing a boundary discount? Ess, who gets the boundary tax and why?
  9. Just seen the start time is 9am!
  10. looks interesting, recomendations for grub in Romsey please? traditional hearty fayre please.
  11. It's on my daily route home and I thunk that some people are missing the actual point of the boards, they are there to slow the Chilworth traffic but not to stop accidents alkthough that will be one benefit imho. Prior to their erection and following companies taking up residence in the new park behing ASDA the traffic on Chestnut was getting slower and the queues longer by the day. The boards enable a more smooth and equal flow through the whole junction. That new park added about 5 mins to mine and others from that route's journey, now I reckon they've shaved about 7 minutes off of the queueing time at peak hours. Obviously if they had been erected on MY side I would also be irrationally upset by them but if you really do think that they may cause YOU to have an accident then they may inadvertently save you from one of your own bad driving habits, we all have them.
  12. That dog barking at the end does my head in.
  13. No Dog, that is not me. I have sanded floors hth. anyone else notice the model Harley at 2:40? Spooooky.
  14. can't argue though that Harley's as a brand are right up there. They always will have an intrinsic attraction to all bikers and non-bikers alike, a bit like Rolls Royces will always be seen as the epitome of luxury motoring and build quality despite them not being the perfect car. Harley's are iconic, and imho they are also associated inextricably with many things from Hell's Angels to Choppers, great looking bikes whether 1 or 50 years old. My nipper and I went on the back of Harley's to the church where he got wed, if it had been any other marque whatsoever I don;lt think it would have had the same impact. When the limo arrived we got the page boys in and then this almighty ROAR came around the corner and the 2 bikes took main stage. The same effect could not be had by a YamaHondaZuki.
  15. East 17 - Stay (another day)
  16. Although I have never watched it religiously I think it looking a wee bit tired now. It needs at least one new face imo and they should also cut back on the sizeist jabs at that little dwarfish fellow.
  17. I shall be there cheering Puncheon* on, worry not. Puncheon and only Puncheon mind.
  18. We need them both though Dune, though Eagles are not as useful to the common man as a sheep I'd say. And don;t foget what happened to Icarus when he tried a little too hard to be different and felll to his death. Maybe those sheeps aren;t that stupid after all?
  19. At work they block any google search for 'images'. It is very disruptive to my work as I need them for cards etc. luckily I have access to 'images' using my backdoor entry skills. Thing is, (some) IT experts are not necesarily ahead of the game.
  20. Yup and he's even tried giving them away, apparently.
  21. So, who is/was this leftback chappy then? AP? Nah.

No, no it's not better. 8 is a very unlucky number!
  23. Those two bits, yes, common public knowledge. I think reference was being made to other information within a post on another thread that was either untrue or was a very very illegal thing to do by that Begbies fellow. I would hazard a guess that repeating it could land SWF in water that would be too warm to wash a baby in. I wouldn't even repeat it via Pm but as is the nature of this sort of thing, it sounds plausible but I would ask why it (the allegation) was not met with the incedent being reported rather than the (reported) rebuttal* by Markus. * probably wrong use of the word.

9 The game of 10-Pin bowling came about after we exported the game of skittles (9 pins) to yankee-doodle land. To control gambling, the game (skittles) was banned, ever clever yanks got around the ban by adding a pin. FACT

If you can't get to sleep then call the number 7 into play mrs b. Count backwards from 100 in 7's, if/when you've done that repeat from the number 200. I used to like the number 3, as in I would occasionally count my steps in 3's. Going back to number 9, did you know that to discover if a number is divisible by 9 you simply add the value of all the digits and if the resulting number is divisible by nine then the answer is yes. Example: 91845 9 + 1 + 8 + 4 + 5 = 27 2 + 7 = 9 Brill isn't it.. Also, 9 is the number of openings that a normal male human being's body has, count 'em.
