  1. Ipswich after him, with Man City apparently happy to let him go out on loan for a season. Should we be interested? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Manchester-City-youngster-Gai-Assulin-wanted-on-loan-by-Ipswich-who-also-chase-Matt-Lowton-of-Sheffield-United-article799239.html

  3. We wuz just unlucky Sally my love
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15162241 Trying to work out if this is potentially a good thing for Saints. Ultimately it will reduce club revenue, but if it does (And I think it almost certainly will) and clubs have to be more fiscally restrained, the young players and academy set up, will put us years ahead of some clubs.
  5. Not based on any fact - except the signings we have made to date and the players we have been in for, but we seem to have a clearly defined criteria of the sort of the players we want to bring in; namley young with potential. Our entire squad is now locked down through contract extensions, with a healthy list of potential academy players coming up behind them. I don't think Cortese has any intention of signing journeymen or even proven strikers who would simply last for the length of their contract and their resale value greatly reduced. It seems to all tie in with his initial objective of making the club sustainable and developing more of our own players, whilst at the same time creating a "Southampton" brand of football. Huge objectives, that no one in the top two divisions have really ever managed, with the exception of Utd and Arsenal, but then they always had the odd 30 million to help them on their and I dont ever see us paying that sort of money. ..... but I wouldnt bet against Cortese getting there.
  6. What a compliment from the away fans. From 12 months ago, when we got "Your not famous anymore" to this. A great little measure of how far we have come
  7. They weren't lucky, they were better than us and we were absolutely useless. First was a penalty, second was definitely a penalty, third I don't think was deflected at all, but the marker just stood and watched him and the fourth was just a good goal, but should have been closed down. We were absolutely awful, and we didn't look like scoring up until the first goal, we weren't better than them, we just sort of contained them a bit. They honestly should have hit double figures, few sitters, Lallana hit the bar, Lambert the post, Gilmartin fumbled three balls at their feet and de Prado was one on one within about 10 minutes. http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?39949-01-10-11-Saints-vs-Watford-Poll-Preview-Discussion-amp-Reaction/page3
  8. Anti-social behaviour is taken very seriously and Cheshire East works closely with the police to tackle such disturbances. This issue is a priority and we are committed to reducing the level of anti-social behaviour and improving the quality of life across the area for all residents and businesses. A co-ordinated response is provided to tackle the bad behaviour of individuals, which includes educating offenders and making sure that they know what anti-social behaviour is and how it affects other people. Young Person Notification forms are used to steer young people away from disorder and crime. A 'Yellow Card' is completed by wardens and officers when they seize alcohol from groups of under age drinkers or disperse young people who are causing a nuisance. Cheshire East Anti-Social Behaviour Unit then sends a “We think you ought to know” letter to parents. If the same name comes up on a second occasion the parents are sent a 'Final' letter. After that, a Police Officer will visit the family or the case will go to a multi-agency panel to decide on a plan of action. However, if this fails, enforcement action is taken which may include Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) and more seriously Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs). ABCs are voluntary written agreements between a person who has been involved with anti-social behaviour and one or more of the enforcement agencies whose role it is to prevent such behaviour. ABCs are most commonly used for young people but may also be used for adults. They offer support to individuals and give them the opportunity to change their behaviour. ASBO's were introduced under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. They are community based orders that involve local people in the collection of evidence and the enforcement of breaches. The orders place serious restrictions on the lives and individuals for a minimum of two years. Breaching an ASBO is a criminal offence and carries a maximum prison sentence of five years LOL..... Never heard of this before. I would have thought anyone dishing out yellow cards in Southampton would get a quick slap
  9. Intresting guest in Carey's Manor this week - No idea if anything to do with Saints
  10. Diego Forlan.... I dont think he had scored at all for Utd and was having an awful time. .... Up steps Saints and of course he scored.
  11. Badgers won it Ian Wright and Dion Dublin. There was also a player from the 70's that I ended up hating as he always scored against us.... Ian Wallace Just googled it to make sure I had his name right and this came up :) With our very own Barry Venison as well http://www.midfielddynamo.com/players/players_barnets.htm
  12. I can't remember the details, but Lawrie Mac used to bang on about the missed oppurtunity on what he refered to as "The Toy's R Us site" I think we had a option to build a new ground on what is now toys r us....... I will let those that have a better memory or facts on whether that was ever a possibility, comment further.
  13. What a first class **** - **** the **** up you ****
  14. Matt got his 10 tickets. Which he bought and paid for. The game didnt sell out so it wasnt an issue for anyone. You tried to make something up, when it didnt exist. A* for being a mong C- for your understanding of SFC
  15. Absolutely correct Except for the fact the game never sold out, he was able to buy as manay as he wanted and nobody.....NOBODY was scratching around for a ticket. Apart from the complete ******** you wrote..... it was almost accurate.
  16. It's the only way they know. Clotterill and lumpitt were given the budget and told they could spend it anyway they liked. Last week Clotterill was complaining he couldn't get loan deals over the line because the pennies didn't add up..... I guess he is a little scared to go back to the russioans so quickly and ask for more. May be this might help him understand why the pennies don't add up... A little quote from Mr Hollaway With one of Holloway’s former players, Luke Varney, out through suspension, the Blackpool boss also revealed that his club could not compete with the financial package that Pompey offered to sign the forward. Holloway said: ‘They paid more money than we could have or would have. He made his mind up to go there Of course if you want a proper laugh you could always read this quote from clotts himself The boss said last week's defeat at Hull was the first time his side had deserved to lose this season - and vowed they would go all out to put it right at home to Blackpool and Peterborough over the next few days
  17. The Skore
  18. Taken today from the skate site....... Just a timely reminder, that they really don't care; Would i swap those years when we had cup winning trips to wembley, great results against the more arrogant of clubs, european football and good football for a new stadium and financial security???FOOOK NO. As much as the sensible bit of me wants to say it wasnt worth it,it sure was.We spunked our futures on a champagne lifestyle we couldnt afford, but with hindsight,if i had to go back and do it all, almost exactly the same,i would. Better to live one day as a lion than your whole life like a lamb
  19. frank this highlights perfectly that you havent read the article properley. Just jumped at the first chance of playing the race card. Go back ..... read it, accept the above is wrong and start again.
  20. Oh dear, how very very short sighted, ignorant and pathetic that post is...... and that's regardless on any ones view point on the original article. The funny thing is, such uneducated views and sweeping generalisations, by lumping all those that aren't impressed into a group labled right wing quasi racists, only serves the interests of one group....................... The far right. You do more harm than good
  21. First they take Stevie Williams, then Theo, then Oxo and now Granty. Enjoy the prawn sandwiches you ******* turncoat
  22. I said at the game that Carr had a go at Lallana for taking the ****. Some sort of unwritten rule (That I have never understood) that youngsters should take the **** out of expereinced pros with nutmegs and the such like. Fantastic skill. We've got to just enjoy it for however long it lasts
  23. Ok I'll bite. I'll agree with the first bit, most on here would look to find an angle or spin on what they actually said, which in reality wasn't very much. Personally I haven't got a clue, what they are all about. What we do know is that our Financial regulators won't touch them with a barge pole and other countries regulators are or have been blocking them from providing investment into an ailing company. On top of that we hear stories of mafia involvement and failed assasination attempts. But let's assume the latter is chinese whispers and all we have is two russian businesmen who don't meet the criteria of some countries financial regulations. Yesterday there was an acknowledgement of their attempt to buy Bournemouth and that they started looking in League two. Not so many weeks ago the same people dismissed out of hand they were ever interested in Bournemouth and even added they would never have looked down as far as League 1. Yesterday on their Wave interview, they announce that portsmouth was the perfect club to buy as there was no debt and no outstanding issues with the tax man etc etc. Really?????????????????????????? Did someone forget to mention the CVA, the forensic investigation into the accounts, the Insolvency commissions investigation and the ongoing court cases for tax evasion. Then we can chuck in the little snippet from chinny, that he is only getting his money on the never never. So what have they bought and when do they actually own it? But you are right corp, none of us know what their intentions are and everything on here since their takeover is guesswork. But from where I'm sat the pieces of the puzzle don't fit very well together at the moment and as owners you are most certainly welcome to them.
  24. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14974664.stm All the rumours and stuff about saab was wrong They want to be like a proper football club :)
  25. Well the yokels are getting restless over on their board. Apparently Clotterill has to go. A couple of the more intelligent ones reckon Adkins would be a good replacement.... We can but laugh. It seems the ruskies see the youth as the way forward. I'm not sure stevie boy agrees, but lets hope they find some middle ground and he gets to keep his job. I would hate to miss out on my 5.55pm Saturday entertainment. I see he wants to appeal against the latest red. Poor old plucky little pompey.
