  1. Ahhh but did he pay for the computer or did he buy it from the local computer shop on the never never, with no intention of ever paying for it? It's a bold call cfc123, to say its dead. With one court case in play, an ongoing investigation by the insolvency commission, another investigation by an independant accountants, a statement from chinny saying csi are paying in installments and a 5 year CVA that has yet to be paid a penny, my guess is that there is plenty of life in the old dog. HMRC are going to have thier day. It wasn't yesterday, it won't be today and when just when you think it won't be tomorrow, they'll get you.
  2. There are very few clubs that can boast such a talent of goalkeepers in recent times. Actually it is a position we seemed to be blessed in. Overall I'd have to go for Shilts, although Neimi and Flowers were both outstanding for us. For the poster that mocked Paul Jones, as unfasionable as he was, he was brilliant for Saints and not surprised someone added him to the mix.
  3. And there was me thinking it was a Cat "C' game until the middle of the week the game was played..... Silly old me I'm sure hampshire police and SFC can confirm it was never a Cat C game....ever ever
  4. LOL at Rudi..... should have scored, mind you I think we said that a few times about him.

    No more Jobs

Jobs, stopped the day to day running of the company months ago. His successor was identified before he was diagnosed with his illness and since the day he was diagnosed, hehas been slowly transitioned out. The most shocking thing is verbal he will probably be getting a huge severance chunk spread over the next couple of years Outstanding visionary and businessman and he will have played a siginificant part in making sure his official exit, does not impact the business.
  6. Anyway, We have been allowed to be distracted. Do we have any news or updates on the court case. Did arry ever attend? I seem to remember that it has been postponed to September - Is that right? I'm not sure the form of one win in four, will be enough to successfully overcome any points deductions.
  7. Munster, there was no exile..... just a lack of confidence in posting. During the most amusing episodes in this thread (Court cases, administrators, charity dodging, missing owners etc etc) a few notible posters would enquire as to his where abouts and a quick search could see that he was logging in on a regular basis.
  8. 52 points from the last possible 56 ..... is that right????? That is beyond outstanding, regardless of squad, league or whatever...deserves a thread of its own. Great little article and a reminder of just what we have in Adkins. Don't want to sound like some of the miserable astards on here, but if he keeps to even 1/2 of those stats, he will start to attract a lot of attention. Promotion in the next two years and consolidation in the Prem, would see him as a genuine England candidate. As an aside, am I right in thinking that Big Lawrie, only ever had a few pro games in the lower divisions?
  9. Yes but that was the whole story, way back when he got appointed, with subsequent stories of what he did an didnt know. It's old news verbal, just like I have been saying all along (Certainly not defending Coulson) you seem to desparately want it to be important ...its not. The story is as it has always been the goverment hired someone from a company who in your words "interfered routinely in the political process, manipulating politicians and hacking murder victims' phones". That's the story...... and his severance pay is irrelvant.
  10. Just turning it around for a second, we blocked a move to Tottenham, Blackpool and are holding out for more money from QPR, that could cost him that move as well. I'm not sure we are his favorite people right now. The bridges have been burnt at both ends and there is no room on the bus for wounded egos
  11. verbal, even little lowly old me had their private medical 7 months and car allowance 6 months paid after I left. As already posted, if this is all part of the severance then it is non story, if was salary for work he was doing for NI durning his time working for the goverment it is.
  12. Ha ha Steve, I forgot you were off to do the decent thing. Glad to read it all went well and many congrats to you both
  13. May be I am missing something, but to me that's rubbish. As it is a football forum.. Did Newcastle know that the settlement details of Pardew leaving Saints, when he joined Newcastle? Pardew did an interview about a month after he left, when he stated he was still on the Saints Payroll.... Standard Practice. Whatever the settlement figure or structure of payments was to Coulson from News International, it has nothing to do with his next employer be them private or public sector. It was a poor hire.... Ill advised and with considerable lack of judgement.... We get that and maybe more stuff left to come out as to who knew what etc. but whether or not Cameron did or didn't know about the severance package, is neither here nor there and certainly not corruption
  14. Can't understand why this latest tit bit, is getting so much air time. It's almost standard practice, especially at the higher end.
  15. The management position was actually confirmed by woodward in an interview about six months after he left (I was surprised then that no one really picked up on it). Huge error of judgement by lowe. Regardless of whether they could do the job, they had a contract for a position that was still filled by HR. Funny that we got relegated that year.
  16. People were boycotting mainly just because of the fact that lowe as back. The "Club" had become a toy, being passed around a group of businessmen. The "living within our means", would have happnened (And was happening) whoever was in charge so it wasn't really that, although as per any club, there would have been people that wouldnt go just beacuse the club werent winning, as much.
  17. I'm no expert on financial law but, the 2.5k payments is documented within the CVA and the reports compiled from the administrators, as such they became a formal liability of pompey2010 ltd or whatever it is called. I think it is safe to assume that part of the csi deal would be the fact that they would assume responsibility of all liabilities (CVA etc etc.) so I can't see any reason why the new guys wouldn't be responsible for it. Well see - It might give us an indication of their intentions towards the first CVA payment.

  19. Dune we are both Tories and both understand what the Falklands was about. We can't give it back whilst there are still families alive that lost people in that war.....give it another 20 years and it's thiers..... Its still too raw at the moment. That doesnt detract from where we are with the US. The deal is perfect 10 billion (which those boys could do with) is a decent trade off.
  20. I was a big fan of pardew and unimpressed with NA's appointment........ Week in and week out and keeps making me look stupid :) Long may it continue :)
  21. That thread is funny as foooooooooook knobs :)
  22. Well I did find out that the game was changed from a cat C (The highest) in the week, to one of the lowest hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder
  23. This might be a bit simplistic, but ultimately, if anyone sent a nuke over here, we'd still get the 5 minute warning, only we would be able to add that we've sent one back, so they will all die as well. Warfare has moved on. The enemy is different these days. Trident was a necessary evil in its day and served its purpose very well. We are well enough aligned with the US to piggy back off them, with a 10 billion contritbution. I'm not a peace loving hippy and in fact was very pro trident, but things have moved on and I am no longer sure the cost is justifiable, especially in these times.
  24. Actually for the first time in a long time, I thought the oppositions superior fitness showed. Don't get me wrong, the football we played in the week and for some parts of the game yesterday, really does take it out of you. High tempo, pass and move football, eats away the fitness levels, pretty quick. As you say we will be fine, but we will need to find a balance and that's just a part of working out this league. A two goal cushion, would have made a big difference. But they stuck to it and came out on top..... They are still learning and in the grand scheme of things, yesterdays game and result were almost the perfect scenarios (And we all slagged off mike70's) Adkins will be very pleased and at the same time, still have things to work on. Happy, Happy days
  25. Trousers,.... I know you like your conspiracy theories, but this is one I really believe. There are far to many occassions that I have witnessed first hand, that just dont add up. When you take a step back and think about it, it is not necessarily a bad policy. The police charge the clubs a lot of money for policing, if you let it kick off every now and then, it justifies their presence and costs (lots of overtime for oldbill) and at the same time they get their arrest figures up and take out a few scroates. The only real downside is what we had yesterday, when women and kids get to see it all played out. If I am wrong, then we have the most stupid, uneducated, pea brain police force in the world.
