It reminds me of the threads and posts on their message board about how they were only 130 million in debt and Man Utd and Liverpool were much worse, but weren't getting any punishment. I'm amazed they have managed to work out that the clubs reason for the increase in season tickets was due to a 3% levy from the FA and an increase in VAT of 2.5%, when in real terms the rise was over 12%. They must have had a tip off.

Chaplow was poor yesterday and unfortuneately the poor performances are outweighing the good ones, by some margin now. I tend to agree with Derry that it is perhaps the system that doesnt suit his style of play, but we cannot keep leaving a big gapping hole in the centre mid.

My guess is that pompey owe the merchant money and they won't accept credit cards until that is paid. pompey get the cash from the early bird deals, pay the merchant and then they can take season ticket payments. Pure guesswork - could be completely wrong. But it is all very strange.

Rallyboy might be right after all. The merchant (Credit card transactions) account has been suspended for season tickets. Basically you have to pay cash. Very significant and a fairly big step when they are walking away from 1 0r 2% of a decent pot of money. They appear to not have much faith in the blue few making next season.

It will be a significant cost - around half a million at a guess. The 30k profit is a red herring and doesnt mean in the slightest that they are not a hugely succesdful company.

Couldnt disagree more. Lallana signing was huge. No other club in league 1 could have pulled that off. Ive been a fan since 1977 and would put Lallanas signing in the top 10 (Maybe even top 5) signings ive ever seen at Saints
