Just to put some perspective on that, 5000 adult season tickets is about 2 million quid. Lawerence, kitson and ben haim's wages equate to 4 million a year.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/numbers_don_t_add_up_for_threadbare_pompey_1_2612660 They have the smallest squad in the Football League. No other Championship team has used fewer players this season. In addition, almost a third of the current playing staff are loanees. Now Pompey’s footballing numbers are to shrink even further. David Lampitt anticipates manager Steve Cotterill’s retained player list will be finalised by the end of this month. Danny Webber, David Nugent, Hermann Hreidarsson and Darryl Flahavan will be out of contract come the end of the season. As are first-year pros Billy Goddard, Ellis Martin, Peter Gregory and Perry Ryan. Others have already departed and the certainty is plenty more will follow. As it stands, just nine players are contracted to Pompey next season. Even then, that lowly tally includes Tal Ben Haim, who has failed to kick a ball for the Blues all season, despite returning from a loan spell at West Ham. If Pompey had their way, he would have been forcibly removed from their wage bill and escorted off the premises long ago. Currently remaining in dispute with the club, there is little chance he will be around to be part of Cotterill’s remaining nine. At least that is what the Blues hierarchy are hoping. Still, Ben Haim is contracted until the summer of 2013 and is in no hurry to leave behind his reported £36,000-a-week salary. Not that Cotterill can begin strengthening a squad that will soon be in single figures. After all, the ownership situation means any player recruitment drive is firmly on hold. Balram Chainrai and Levi Kushnir won’t invest because they are looking to sell. Meanwhile, Convers Sports Initiatives are in no position to invest because they haven’t purchased the club yet. It’s a vicious circle which has left Cotterill in limbo. It has also left Pompey with nine players for next season. They are Hayden Mullins, Jamie Ashdown, Ricardo Rocha, Aaron Mokoena, Joel Ward, Kanu, Dave Kitson and Liam Lawrence. Oh, and of course Ben Haim. Of those in the current Pompey set-up, youngsters Marlon Pack and Tom Kilbey have already been told they will not be offered fresh deals. Considered not of Championship standard, the duo must now look elsewhere to ply their trade. Richard Hughes and Michael Brown have long possessed the knowledge their Fratton careers are over. In the meantime, they have had to wait for their contracts to tick down before the inevitable parting of the ways. Then there is Nadir Ciftci, who was offered a fresh contract earlier in the season. Following two-and-a-half months of stalling, Cotterill learned elsewhere that the forward would not be putting pen to paper. Ciftci has barely featured for the first-team since and is now set for a Turkish club as a free agent. Meanwhile, Ibrahima Sonko, Carl Dickinson, Greg Halford, Jonathan Hogg, Ritchie de Laet and David Cotterill will all return to their parent clubs at the season’s end. De Laet and Hogg have already indicated their willingness to return. But while the ownership matter rumbles on, that will not happen. Of those players the club owns and whose contracts end this summer, Nugent is the only one to have been approached. Pompey’s leading scorer opened talks with the club in December but has since put everything on hold until the season’s end. Effectively a free agent this summer, he is sure to attract plenty of interest. It remains to be seen whether the Blues have the ambition and financial clout to keep him here. Hreidarsson has recovered from a career-threatening injury to re-establish himself in the side. But with his 37th birthday approaching in July, age may become an factor. Then there is Webber – back from a year out injured and launching a late push to impress. He has certainly caught the eye in one start and several brief substitute appearances. It remains to be seen, though, whether he has done enough to convince Cotterill he is worthy of a new deal. Finally, in terms of the first team, there is Flahavan. Yet to make an appearance this season, the experienced keeper has been a regular on the bench. Clearly a number two is required for Jamie Ashdown, with no youngsters yet ready to step up. If Flahavan does not fit the bill, Cotterill will need to bring someone in. Let’s also not forget youngsters Goddard, Martin, Gregory and Ryan – all of whom featured in the last pre-season. However, the odds are stacked against them whether they will be around for the next one. One thing for certain, however, is that there are nine players contracted for next season. And it is essential at least 11 are brought in to supplement that number to give Cotterill a reasonable squad size. At least 11. As ever, we wait and see what the future holds.

Prime Minister Cameron blocks Browns bid to head up the IMF
Gemmel replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
Absolute horse ****eee, btf , stop now, you are emabarasing yourself. Brown in charge of the IMF is akin to gary glitter running a kindegarden. He didn't just fook up, he did it on a massive scale and when he got found out, he did it even more to hurt the next goverment. Nasty vindictive, useless, clueless unelected wannabe that has set this country back 2 generations. -
Yep.... And marcus never deposited his money through a loan note. You keep setting yourself up for a fall. Wind your neck in, relax and enjoy.

Prime Minister Cameron blocks Browns bid to head up the IMF

Mr Cameron told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "I haven't spent a huge amount of time thinking about this. But it does seem to me that, if you have someone who didn't think we had a debt problem in the UK, when we self-evidently do, they might not be the best person to work out whether other countries around the world have a debt and deficit problem". He added: "Above all what matters is the person running the IMF someone who understands the dangers of excessive debt, excessive deficit, and it really must be someone who gets that rather than someone who says that they don't see a problem." That's as close to political speak as you can get for; Fook off you stupid idiot, make one move and we will veto. -

Really? The leader of the IMF and we have to hope he has learnt from his mistakes? Absolutely not. We should quite rightly use our veto, if it comes to it, but I really don't see that he will get close to being one of the front runners. -

Indeed, what stuck me was how incredbily easy it seemed to be. With regard to the FAPPT, the fA should either scrap it completely (Takes any responsiblity off them), or admit its previous failings. There was one scary moment though, when the Mr King (The conman) bore an uncanny resemblence to "Barry the Briefcase" -
Just a quick reminder of the sordid past, the blue few are a bit upset on their board as someone has just found out there seems to be a connection between the kids of the russians and chinny. Looks like they are family friends. How intriguing. Anyone care to update this... http://www.pompeyonline.com/?page_id=17

Some back of a fag packet maths. Chanarai is a secured creditor for 24 million Gaydamak is secured for 5 million The CVA is 20 million Assuming, that chinny will walk for 24 million, , together with gaydamak and the CVA, that is 50 million commitment. Let's say that they didnt really spend all of next years parachute payments and there is still 30 million to come, Then that is 20 million to take them over. They will then need to sign 15 players, say 5 loans, 5 frees and 5 with a fee..... being very reserved, say they can do all that for 5 million. Then they need to stop the cash loss on gates of 12 - 14,000. So say 30 million (Could be more, if they have spent next years parchute money) for a championship club, who need a new stadium, don't have any training facilities, face a points dedcution and whose crowds are falling. That's a pretty big gamble....
-
I think we should help them out - 1) gaydamak owns part of the land that the stadium (loosest sense of the word) sits on 2) A previous Director is in court in May, the result of which, is likely to incur a points deduction 3) The squad will be down to 9 players in about 3 weeks time. 4) chinny boy has a personal claim to every transfer fee 5) There remains an ongoing investigation with insolvency commision. 6) There is an additional forsenic investigation into the affairs, that could well uncover some nasty old truths, that...................might incur another points deduction. 7) Unfortunately to break even, they had to spend next years parachute money. There is no training ground. 9) 20 million left to pay on the CVA 10) The bestest fans in the world are very shy and don't like to leave the house, on a Saturday afternoon.

He was coming back down hill lane at 6.00pm on Saturday night, so he was done and dusted at the hospital within 45 mins. He can't be that serious, but that doesn't mean he will be able to play on Saturday or this season.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week, supporters buying their seat by cheque or using a Zebra Finance package should go to the ticket booths situated behind the Fratton end. Fans renewing their season tickets with cash should visit the Frogmore Road ticket office. Where do you think Chanaris office is - the farton end or the Frogmore road, end? My money is on the frogmore road.
-
Where's your ******* ticket you knob. No ticket no ride, now get off my ******* bus.

Saw Barny leave in his kit, grabbed some tea and saw him coming back down hill lane an hour later (Guess footballers don't wait like the rest of us) Got to be a good sign being sent home straight away. Very nice car Mr Wilkins

Published on Friday 15 April 2011 13:57 Pompey chief executice David Lampitt has promised he remains ‘1,000 per cent’ committed to reintroducing credit card payments for Pompey season tickets. Blues fans have have been told they can only renew in the ‘early bird’ period up to April 28 by cash, cheque or through a repayment scheme run by Zebra finance. But unless the club resolves its difference with credit card service providers, the Pompey chief executive has warned he cannot see a solution. Card companies have imposed restrictions on Pompey which mean they will only release cash to the club on a match by match basis rather than up-front. Mr Lampitt said: ‘We are continuing to find a suitable resolution with the credit card service provider which allows us to offer credit card facilities while not harming the financial position of the football club. ‘We have a business plan with the Football League which has been built around season ticket money coming in from March to June. ‘For all football clubs, that is a critical part of the funding through the summer because we are not playing games and there are not those income streams. ‘We cannot put ourselves in a position financially where there is a multi-million pound hole in our business plan with the Football League because the credit card companies are not releasing that money. Errr David, there already is a multi million pound hole in your business plan. You are still 5 million short on CVA money you were due to raise in player sales. Seems like the credit card companies aren't budging. What happens if they fall foul of their promises to the FA. As Rallboy said yesterday, still plenty of life in this little thread. And just think if they hadn't signed lawerence and kitson, whose wages alone relate to over 5,000 season tickets, this wouldn't be a problem.
