Pre season friendly against Bashley many moons ago. The bashley striker jumped up to head the ball, Budgie caught it and then launched into this guy with " You dared to try and score against me" and just went mental. The poor lad didn't know what to do. Ten minutes later he shouted to Ruddock that the same striker had called Ruddock "a see you next Tuesday". Ruddock promptly went straight through the player at the first opportunity, which Budgie thought was hysterical. Poor lad didn't know what day it was. I can't remember any more friendlies with Bashley after that

I might not be Mourinho , but I know enought to say that Brighton deserve to be where they are. Poyets tactics down here were spot on. The only aim was to make sure we didnt close the gap. We played them off the park.... and guess what we didnt close the gap. They have not slipped up where ourselves and other clubs have and we shouldnt be counting on points deductions (That dont exist) to help us out. Total respect to them and Poyet who is proving himself to be a fantastic manager.

In hindsight you can say it was his biggest mistake, but people should remember he turned down Man utd to stay with us. The Sunderland job came up about 12 months later and that was his dream job, in his home area.... It didnt work out, but I personally don't hold any grudges from him taking it.
