This is so much more than just signing a promising player. Premiership clubs were in for this guy and as I posted before, whether he lives upto the hype or not, is irrelevant.

You cant do a list like that and forget...... a certain mr rix

Is it just me or does big Ron look like Lambert

Di Canio is the press today saying he turned down a league one club this season (As Manager), but didn't want to name them. Could be any of a number of clubs, but with the Italian connection....

I reckon Ince will be the next pompey manager. Cloterrill will go in the summer, when Lawerence is sold to us and ince to replace him.

Thanks Micky, It's actually something I feel quite strongly about. The teacher / parent relationship should be a partnership. The onus is obviously on the parents to set the guidelines of what is and isn't acceptable, morals, ethics etc etc. but it needs to be a united front and I think nowadays teachers are to scared to exercise their powers because of fear of reprisal. That's not their fault and kids are very clued up as to what a teacher can or can't do and will (As always) push a situation to its limits. I just think those "limits" have moved far far far to much. I met one of my Sons teachers at parents evening a couple of years ago and she was clearly worried about broaching a subject with me. After dancing round the houses for 5 minutes, she finally came out with the fact that she didn't think he was really trying and got away with doing the very minimum. When I agreed with her and asked her how we could work together, she couldn't beleive it and her persona changed instantly. I think she was expecting a different reaction and was delighted that someone was backing her ..... for me that's what it is all about and he ended up with an "A".

We might not like ince and keane, but there not really Saints hate figures

Former Portsmouth owner Sulaiman Al Fahim has vowed to continue supporting the club, despite being attacked by a number of fans following the team’s away match at Reading on Saturday. It is understood that Al Fahim, who took over the club in July 2009 before selling it later the same year, became involved in a dispute with a section of Portsmouth fans during the match. UAE businessman Al Fahim was then chased by a group of fans outside the stadium, with a number making contact with him briefly, before police and stadium security staff intervened. Speaking to Arabian Business, one fan who witnessed the incident said: “Some of them were chanting things during the match which suggested he had taken money out of the club. "He was clearly unhappy at this and came over to a section of fans to explain that he had actually put $10m of his own money into the club. "However they didn’t really want to listen so he decided to leave the match before the end. Unfortunately a group of them followed him out of the ground and tried to throw punches, but luckily the police and security staff him out just in time.” On Sunday, a number of Porstmouth fans contacted Al Fahim to express outrage at the incident, and the former owner met with a supporters group at a London hotel, where they are understood to have apologised for the incident. One fan, James Thorne, emailed Arabian Business saying: “Please can you pass on apologies to him from myself and other like-minded Pompey fans for the behaviour of a small minority of 'fans' at the match he attended in Reading yesterday." The email added: "The vast majority of fans would not like to be associated with these actions and we welcome Mr Al Fahim's continued involvement at the club as a fellow supporter.” Speaking to Arabian Business on Sunday night, Al Fahim confirmed the incident but said it would not diminish his support for Portsmouth: “My heart is in this club, not just because I invested money into it but because I genuinely adore the club and its traditions and fans. Obviously what happened is upsetting and was unpleasant, but the vast majority of the fans have always been very warm towards me, so I’m not going to let one incident change that,” he said. I think someone needs to tell Fahim, the company he still owns 10% was liquidated. The new company doesnt include him. Another victim of pfc.

Decent enough footballer, but we struggle to fit him into our shape or systems. When he shot in the first half and should have laid Lambert off, Rickie went mad at him and then turned to the bench and my lip reading skills came up with "He's fokking clueless"

Then she would be in more trouble than she already is and I would expect the teacher to send her to headmaster. Don't get me wrong, I am glad the school send the letter home and now we know we can deal with it, but in my day the phone (Pretending that mobiles were around when I went to school ) would have been taken away until the end of the day. I will always back the school with whatever punishment they choose, for any given crime, but suspect that is not always the case with other parents, to the point that teachers end up treading on egg shells and not taking the most logical action, so as not to upset people. That might be a generalisation, but for all the parents that complain about teachers going too far, this one doesn't think they go far enough a lot of the time. My kids are no angels, but they know right from wrong and if they decide to do something wrong, they have to accept the consequences and punishment for that and I am not convinced that schools back that up strongly enough. I might soundf like an old fart, but in my day refusing to give something to the teacher wasn't an option.

We are now considered as one of the top teams to develop youngsters. We are trusted by parents and other clubs. This is massive. Irrespective whether Jack turns out to be a wonder kid or not, little old league one Southampton have muscled out Premiership clubs. Well done (Dare I say it) lowe and Cortese. Fantastic news. Feels good to be a Saints fan

I had a letter home from the school yesterday to say my daughter has been using her phone in class and they included the school policy on mobile phones. I have no idea why they just didnt take the phone off her..... If I was the teacher I would have.

It might be a little worse than that, they were being chased for another 1/2 million on a players fee based on the fact that they qualified for Europe. Of course tehy claimed it didnt count, because they didnt put the forms in

Fook off makers, that was a perfectly good urban myth you've just ruined and I prefer my version.

He's getting slightly confused, the pompey dvd entitled "Unbelievable" has a different focus that Matt's did.

Im not a 100% certain, but think Venables "errors" were mid term and he resigned shortly afterwards..... To be honest the best thing Venables ever did was buy pompey for a pound..... Stitch them up, make some cash and have it away on his toes...... They seem to attract the very best people.

As long as you dont put VAT on it, then you can send them the invoice in way form you want, though as per Tokyo Saint, it will be best to do it as professionally as possible, save it as a PDF and then run it as a sideline. What Job board out of interest.

Dont worry about arry, the amounts are trivial in the grand scheme of things, even guilty it will just be a fine and worst case suspended sentance. It would of course ruin his chances of being England manager and of owning Bournemouth, but I am sure he would find his away around the latter. In fact it would be quite interesting for him to own his own club. Given every club bar his current one have gone bust, he might just have to change his post match interviews about how crap his squad is.

One thing that always strikes me when watching clips of Mattys goals, is the quality of midfielders, defenders and goalies, that MLT makes look chumps. There are plenty of Internationals in that clip alone, that don't even knwo where to look let alone defend. Thanks for posting that clip, reminds me how privelaged we were to have him. 19*****een watch and weep

The tax man has never gone away and nor will he. They made their case very clear months ago with the single line "Take the revised CVA or we will seek recompense, from individuals". They were never walking away from the money just like that- not just because of the amount, but the message that it sends out. 100, 200, 300 pages before this, I have said the same thing and someone posted on here the tax man has 30 files on pompey.... I'm sure he does, but its when the axe falls that will probably surprise us all. It won't effect pompey per se, but someone will pay, if not in hard cash, but in hard time. For Gaydamak, it's no really biggy, it just limits where he can live (Assumming he doesn't stump up 30 million quid) but for others the price may well be higher. Remember even a CEO who is "Just an employee" has a legal obligation to fulfil his companies tax commitments. In a way i do feel a bit sorry for him (If I am right) as the previous owners will get out of it scott free, but I have a feeling Mr Storrie, will end up the "fall guy" On a separate note, I woneder how many of those 30 folders are titled " Tanya Robins Evidence"

http://www.greenwisebusiness.co.uk/news/people-power-food-cooperative-challenges-big-supermarkets-2120.aspx Peoples Supermarket, same sort of principle. They did a programme on TV about it. It nearly went bust, but when they pulled together it really started to work and was financially sustainable.

Next seasons squad gets more interesting by the minute. Lumpitt and one of the other Directors are already on record as saying there is a hole in where they should be regarding money for the CVA and conmfirmation from the News that they have spent next years parachute money as well. The next parachute payment is due in the Autumn...... Whats the betting they continue to ignore the provision for the CVA and just get another load of expensive loans and frees to make up the squad.
