  1. That reminds me of someone but i just cant think who.....any ideas alpine
  2. And his two goals against Millwall in the replay of our cup final year
  3. Agreed. There was talk of an England call up at one point. I cant rememer against who or when, but England had a few midfielders out injured and a few commentators tipped for a place. It didnt happen of course, but a very decent player none the less.
  4. An intresting analagy with Charlton - I wonder if it would be any different of he wasn't on the payroll
  5. Lol at the silly little boy dishing it out and slagging off LM, when he hasnt even read the article...... How bizarre. Time for your afternoon nap??
  6. Dear SaintScottofthe northam, Thank you for you letter, and I am sorry to read you were not old enough to savour some of memorable times we enjoyed with the club. I notice that you have the urge to run to the messageboards every time my name is mentioned. Do yourself a favour and read the article that you feel the need to comment on and just live behind the faceless persona on an internet forum that you are. Regards LM
  7. I think it says a lot that someone telling a former club great to do one......can't even spell his name.
  8. My sons gone up and is now looking for another game to watch, apparently there is a mini bus of Saints fans off to Huddersfield Bournemouth. Should be some strange looks when they celerate a draw
  9. He was only on for a minute
  10. And the same one as giodarno kicking off, well shouting if he did that one more time..... etc etc
  11. I know Steve Grant pretty well and respect his decision (And there will be a reason), although can't help thinking how ******* mad it is that politics should play such a part in supporting a club and having a kick around. Not sure having me playing in a Ted Bates memorial match, does much to honour the old fella, but am up for a game, if there are another 15 that fancy it. Independently of course.
  12. Ouch that's another 36k on the wage bill. When you put it into context of their average gates 14 - 15k (Which strangely are going down since the bad run) the fact most away teams are taking between 2 and 3 thousand of that figure, then the 1,500 they give to local schools and the latest deal which is two tickets for 19.50. It doesn't look to good. Won't be long before, Kitson 19k a week Lawerence 20k a week, Ben Haim 36k a week, Brown 25k a week Hughes 28k earn morn than the takings. Thats without Heirdasson, Rocha, Mokena, Kanu and the injured fella.

  14. You dont half spout some rubbish
  15. http://bournemouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=33725&start=1 They seem to be enjoying it
  16. The 9 there is not a chance that there won't be season tickets next season, not even a remote one and for thousands of different reasons. I wouldn't pin any hopes of an early bird though, if the cash is in place ( Which it very much looks like it is) there is nothing really in it for the club. If the electronic swipe card tickets are in place, then we may well see the installment plan come back as well.
  17. pompey message boards reporting that baliffs came in and closed down portsmouth live tv this morning. Not sure if or how they are affliated to the club.
  18. Nick take this one slowly..... the club wrote a charter , two in two years (Some going that is as most charters are in place for 50 + years) that detailed the service level and response time between fans, the club and any issues. The next week they breach their own charter and continue to do so for many more weeks until the IPO get involved. Take the emotion of whether Nick should or shouldnt be banned (We don't know why anyway). What we do know as fact is that the club breached its own charter and as a result subsequently alerted the authorities to other charter related issues, that have been sent to the FA and are now pending penalties. So regardless of the NI situation, the club has fooked up and tarnished "The Brand". There is no grey area here, the club are in breach of their own Charter and by default have cocked up.

  20. Now the really smart ones would have put the bet on at half time.... apparently they went to 16/1 at half time.
  21. How big a story it was is almost irrelevant, but Google is offerring 9 pages of search results against it (Gave up looking past the first 3 to make sure they were relevant) - so it was a story and that's without The Sun. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Southampton+Photographer+Ban&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq= But anyway, still stupid (And expensive) fortuneately rectified, by some humble pie. Suggesting that it wasn't a silly idea, is well just silly. Still no comment on whether it was silly to write a Club charter one week and then break it the next and at the same time highlight to the authorities other failings of the same charter, that could amount to fines etc. From a CEO perspective thats unprofessional and silly. I really dont think there is an argument to the contray and that is before you even look at whether the ban was justfied. It's not rocket science, on the two issues i have raised we can deal in facts and both decisions were / are stupid. There are some that won't hear a word against cortese and that makes them as blind as those who they argue against. As i mentioned previously he has done some great things since he has been here and he is the way forward - i am sure of that, but the two points in question have done the one thing he protects against all others and that is damagaing "The Brand". So two own goals, that both can be classed as "Silly"
  22. Yes the few lines it got in a few articles and the biggest selling paper in the Country refusing to acknowledge our existence until he backed down, which he did, ergo stupid decision in the first place. You didn't comment on whether he was silly to break his own charter.... how strange.
  23. By who is that a serious question? The National press, who to a man condemened his actions. Doesn't matter what you think of the actual paper, but Southcoast team ring any bells? It took a few hours of what must have been painful sucking up to redeem his "Brand". I think we can safely say the whole thing was a bit silly and he had to backdown, back track and smuuzzzzeee to rectify his mistake. With regard to this season ticket lark, if you write a charter one minute and then break it the very next, whilst at the same time alert the authorites to other failings of the same charter, I think silly / stupid is an apt word to use and that's without even going into the merits of whether a season ticket ban was appropriate or not. Sorry dd, Cortestw has done some brilliant things in his short time here and is without doubt the man to take us forward. All we need him to do now is recoginse (As i am sure he does) the silly things he has done, cut them out and it's onwards and upwards.
  24. Cortese was made to look stupid over the photograher ban and looks like stupid over this, not least for breaking his own charter by his actions (Or lack of them) It won't be such a public climb down as a 3 hour visit to news corp, but he won't risk the IPO and or footballing bodies and bad publicity (I think he has worked out he cant control the press) and won't actively stop him getting a season ticket next season.

    Adam or Alex ?

No brainer for me, Adam every day of the wek and twice on Sundays. I am well aware of the potential that Alex has, but thats pretty much what it is right now - just potential. He doesn't effect games in the same way that Lallana does (Or indeed if being brtually honest as Walcott did) and I really believe that Lallana has also got the potential to play at the higest level as well. It's great to see oxo in full flight, but his reputation is now preceding him (Midfielders / defenders are much more aware of him) and we only get to see that 2 or 3 times a match. Whilst Lallana isnt anywhere near as fast, he is at for most of his time on the pitch (Saturday just gone exception) and I expect the end of season goal tally and assists to reflect that. Lovely to have them both (Certainly wasn't expecting them both to still be here) so enjoy them, while we can.
