  1. Yes indeed, but this argument was for the last ten years
  2. Lungs it gets worse and this just epitomises everything about them. In response to what you have cut and pasted above ... I posted a list of 20 odd professionals that had come through the academy (Which was off the top of my head, i am sure there are more; Olly Lancashire Drew Surman Joseph Mills Jake Thompson Chris Baird (Ish…. Took him on young) Simon Gillet Lloyd James Martin Cranie Theo Walcott Gareth Bale Adam Lallana Ox Chamberlin Wayne Bridge Leon Best Aron Davies Oscar Gobern Nathan Dyer Matthew Mills David Mcgoldrick (came to us late but brought through acdamey) Nile Ranger This is their reply (Quite staggering) just for Gemmel post 121- good work and that's pretty impressive I must say) Oh but where has it got your club exactly ?? We produced nothing and won F.A Cup and are still in a league above you So the moral of the story is you either ave it or you do not, and we (pompey) happen to ave it
  3. Unfortuneately kraftwork, they wouldn't be ....even if we were in the prem. I think we've seen the biggest test of Nicolas intent, by signing Lallana. That was huge and with interest from the premiership clubs wouldn't have come cheap. Oxo is different, he is under contract and it is more of a business decision based on any offer and of course what he wants himself. Although it's paper talk, our figure is 10 million for him (Which is crazy money for what he has achieved so far) but if he wants off now with 3 years left, that is the price. I suspect (But don't know) if Adkins was offered 5 million to spend on players if oxo was sold, he would have a diffficult decision.
  4. I am sure i read on here that following one of Cortese'es Season ticket dinners that the tribute would be to name the training ground after Markus. Training ground or Stand, i'm not fussed either way, but he must be remembered in some LASTING way. We came as close as anyone (Days) to having the plug pulled. ML and Cortese saved this club and that should never be forgotten.
  5. You should go back to your own board...........I think ****ting yourselves is an appropriate statement. Many of your lot are resigned to Saints winning the league. http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?191984-Four-League-One-games-tonight
  6. Don't dismiss it, there is some interesting stuff in there. Espeacially the last answer, but portpin, never paid for admin (Like we didnt know, but now comfirmed by lampitt) HMRC, will have bigesst baring on firm of forensic investigations .... Not uhy.
  7. For 50 quid, i'd want the whole ******* ground AND the car park. Trouble is that is two different sellers.
  8. Indeed it is and often think how ironic it is that lowes biggest mistake (Coming back and ******* up) ultimately gave us Markus and Nicola. Had Leon stayed on, i dont think we would have gone into admin. Even to the point of throwing is own money in (Which he did in the end anyway) and we would now be a bareboned squad probably fighting relegation from league 1. Funny old game
  9. It's an intresting point and given how tight things were and what we ultimately went into admin for, then it would be hard to argue that it did ultimately cost us ten points by delaying the inevitable.
  10. It's completetly the opposite. The money doesnt go anywhere near the tenant and gets paid directly from the goverment to the landlord. (Which is why it is so safe)
  11. Don't underestimate Howes status in the game at the moment (And why we quite rightly interviewed him) 99% of the well known names have never acheived what he has in such a short space of time. For a club like charlton, they get a young fresh, innovative manager who with all the restraints, of a transfer embargo, having his best players sold, gained promotion and now sits second in the league. I would much rtaher have howe then any one of the number of washed up drunks that sit on the managerial merry go round.
  12. The bigeest hassle with being a landlord is collecting the money and going with an agency to remove that hassle costs you 10%. If the maths add up then it's a safe option, but if you rent to DSS, then that is more guranteed than any agency. There will be no shortgae in people wanting to rent, so you will get you choice of tenants and if the flat is half decent, it is usually better than they would get from a council allocated one and my expereince was that they tended to really look after it. May be we just got lucky, but i would recommend allowing DSS or housing benefit tenants anytime. The money is there every month without fail.
  13. Surprised so many think he should stay. He has without question peaked at second in the league. There can be no better time for him (Personally) to walk away. That's the way football is these days, his stock is the highest, it is ever going to get with Bournemouth right here right now. A decent contract with Charlton or Palace and he is financially secure for the rest of his life.
  14. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Hotheaded-Pompey-handed-FA-punishment.6686236.jp?CommentPage=2&CommentPageLength=10#comments Is someone going to tell cotterill that was his transfer budget? If they don't find their new billionaire soon, sc might get a nasty shock and not get the three new players he has demanded in January
  15. Stolen from the dark side, but it seems to make sense (For sacha anyway) and would also fook chanerai up, which would be the added bonus in this poker game. "I was in Pompey on Sunday at a family do and a relative of someone there got talking to me and I realised he works at FP albeit at a pretty low level but he has survived the culls thus far. He claims that what passes for the management of Pompey, are aware of a move by Miland properties to see if they can sell the car park for the development of a smaller scale Tesco and to re-devleope the megastore into a Tesco filling station. I have absolutely nothing to corroborate what I have been told but the guy was confident about what he was saying but had no idea whether Miland could pull off such a move". Gaydamak is in a financial hole on his FP landholdings (listed as being worth £17 million in Milands latest credit report which is lower than it is currently valued at by the same report and there is a substantial mortgage to cover). If there were development as suggested by this rumour, Fratton Park would be largely landlocked and turning the ground around impossible (which might be just Gaydamak wants in view of his near hatred of BC and his cohorts). Just one more rumour for the pot, no certain provenance but sensible from Sasha's viewpoint
  16. As like many clubs, the 2nd keeper tends to get the cup games. It will be intresting to see who gets the nod for manure
  17. It's not just the money either. There is still the insolvency commission involvement, that could lead to financial irregularities and of course storries tax case. Both would lead to points deductions that wouldn't go away just because of new owners. With chanerais debt secured, he coud structure a deal that would be perfect for lifelongpompey type person to come in for little or no money, take on the debt and obligations of the CVA (including his) and walk away, if he really does want out.
  18. I think the Sainst fans played a part as well, very loudly and for ages as well...... He's bald he's fat he's going to the sack Atkinson

  20. David Lloyd, Oasis and the old Millbrook school. which is now Oasis as well
  21. Indeed Whitey indeed. He would have loved to see his team, in his full stadium taking on the best in the Country and one of the best in the world. A perfect oppurtunity to pass on the "Southampton" bug to his family
  22. Rule one means your missus has to get her knorkers out, so we will settle for rule 2; Nobody ever agrees with Alpine. He is a manic depressive who doesnt watch any games, is very over weight and has suicidal tendancies. Go read his comments on the Ashes and you might understand
  23. Gemmel

    Holloway

Didn't go today and have no interest in the cups, but if the fans can get into a managers head like that, I salute you. The blokes a loveale nutter, but just showed a very weak charcteristic in his management skills. Nice one Saints fans

  25. Did the interviewer suggest he uses some of the "Not so good" younger players?
