This is a bit scary .......The 4% have some explaining to do http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4459018.Swiss_group_arrive_for_Saints_talks/

A little bit like pompey fans now crying over things that happened in the past. The time for protesting was when this Country was being run into the ground, just like their club, but most were to blind to see it. Everything was rosy, no penny pinching and it was spend spend spend and everybody turned a blind eye, although knew it was not sustainable. This Country is in a mess and I have no doubt what so ever that it will manifest into social unrest, but again - just like pompey we will have missed the boat as to whose fault it is was and throwing sticks and stones at the wrong people

I wonder if Jackson and his russian friends were the money behind Pinnacle. Not only did we miss out on the chance of having MLT as Chairman, but we lost a monkey /chicken petting zoo at the same time.
-
Fair shout Wurzel, but Sky money has over tripled since we were in the prem. last year with the squad numbers we had (carrying some heavy earners), you could be right, but if we average the same attendances this season, given the number of players released, I think we are pretty much there or there abouts
-
Really there is a house for sale in Hill lane that says different, as does the land in Marchwood, as does Jacksons farm, as does the stadium , as does the squad and as does the bookies......and we are the resident nutcases ????? The breakeven attendance figure when we were in the Prem was around 21,000. The squad has been greatly reduced (And quite rightly so) we are meeting that average and the players are on a fraction of the wages we were paying back then and we had a mortgage to pay. I can't be sure and these are guessestimates, but i reckon we are breaking even and may be even showing a profit, with ML funding transfers

Its a beautiful thing and whilst it's time may be short on the main board, there will be a welcoming reception in the Lounge. On the very anniversary of the pompey take over thread, it is only right and fitting that Mr Jacksons name reappears. Bring on the petting zoo

The value will only be realised upon promotion. I think he picked it up for around 12 million and total investment to date probably stands at around 14 - 15 million + the work on Staplewood when it happens. Assuming we get the same crowds as last season, I am pretty certain we would be at least breaking even. So if we got promotion to the Championship, at a guess probably around 25 million and double if we made it to the Premiership, but the reality is that there are so many clubs in financial trouble that people who genuinely want to own a football club, can wait to pick up these clubs for relatively small amounts (Just like Markus did) Everton have been for sale (70 million) for nearly 3 years, then look at Newcastle etc etc. Whilst I have no doubt that this is an investment oppurtunity (Hence NC introducing it to Markus and running the show) for Markus, the chunky money only comes into play if we hit the Prem and even then they will have to find a buyer. That's assumming that the sort of money invloved with the Prem is still arounnd in 4 or 5 years time.

Evening Tim, Funniliy enough Cashley could have come back with his head held high, as he had a pretty decent World cup. Then he got caught with the old text messsages again, saying he hated England and alll the people in it !! Green is going to get some stick and will have to start strongly as fans will shread his confidence if he makes any mistakes ( I predict loss of form by Christmas and on the bench soon after) Any stick Rooney gets will be drowned out by Utd fans singing "You can stick you ****ing ENgland up your arse" And I'm not sure the others will give a **** anyway.

What would be a suitable birthday present for the thread

I could be completely wrong, but i think by the time we get back to the Premiership, Liverpool Man Utd and other big clubs will have been through some sort of financial meltdown (Not necessarily Administration) as well as other European clubs, and they will have put some measures in place to prevent overspending and create more of an even playing field amoungst clubs..... Which would work perfectly for us. The other side of the coin is that they lock down promotions / relegations before we get there, to try and protect their members.

Had a meeting with Accenture cancelled the day before. I would have been in Liverpool street for around 9.00ish - I can never say i would have been on that tube, but it would have been close. Often think about it, fate and all that....

Two points Rallyboy Forget all the banter and bravdo, I don't expect pompey to ever honour the CVA, despite the piteful 20p in the pound and to the people invloved at the moment, it is an irrelevance. There money is ringfenced. If they sell the club, there is extra bunce for them, if not, they keep it going, coughing and spluttering until the parachute payments have all been paid etc etc. They will come woefully short of the 15million transfer fee, so will be 7 - 10 million down by the end of the transfer window, which equates to just 2 months after the CVA would have been ratified for.............. thats the first two months out of the 60 months allocated to paying off the creditors - hardly an inspiring start is it!! That's on the assumption that HMRC don't take this any further, Nobody knows for sure if they will or indeed what there next play will be. The one thing i am personally sure about, it that they do have a next move, there is another play and I don't think it will be in favour of our fishy friends.

I would imagine that the interview was around 2 hours long, where she gave her side of the argument and assured us all she was harshly treated.......a bit like she is feeling now after realisng that 1.58mins was left on the editors floor and her only contribution was to show an email being offered a deal. Without wantin to go to much off thread - another example of how the unions work.

Jan and Wotte would love this ; http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Shock-face-back-at-Pompey.6396806.jp

In the grand scheme of things, this doesnt effect me, i am and never was, considering going on the pre-season tour. But i can't agree with your reasoning, in fact I think it is almost the opposite. The bigger the club, the earlier these things are planned. You don't make a phone call to arrange a game the next week. This was done and dusted ages ago (IMO). The other side of the coin is that if this really was all last minute stuff, then given the issues that arose from last season's lack of pre-season, then somebody needs their b0ll0cks in a vice for poor preparation......I just can't see Pardew or Cortese letting that happen.
-
Whatever the reasons for not annoucing this earlier, I can't see it being down to late planning. Pardew cited the lack of pre season as one of the things that held us back at the begining of last season and no doubt used it in defence of his job as well, with Cortese. This would have been booked and prepared with Military precision a long time ago. The clue is in the resort - it would have been taken up by many other clubs, had we not booked months in advance. I don't know or understand the reasoning for the way the club is dealing with its communications at the moment. It might just be a case of Coretese putting his mark in the sand that everything will be done his way or not at all.

For anybody interested in going there is a fantastci camp site 5 mins from the centre of Interlaken, with fulll faclilities and on the edge of lake. This is going back many years but it was really cheap and a lovely place.

Not your favorite song, but songs from the past that when you hear them, take you back instantly to, good or bad situations/relationships/events, whatever, just momemtarily put you in another place. Just listened to "Baby Jane", havent heard it in years, but spooky, just spooky.

Another Insight into NC's decision making?
Gemmel replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Did you know that Cortese was approached about buying Saints before they went into Admin? I often wonder whether that was Crouch or Lowe that instigated that. -
Whilst we are at it, i believe St Mary's is in need of a portugese translator, I wonder why.

Have you heard of the 19c in Chester??????????????
