  1. Companies have to live within their means (Legally), so how are they expected to cope if their income vs outgoings ratio is altered unfavourably
  2. For those of you that have ever worked in support
  3. Remind me what happened with the first strike
  4. About 4.45 tomorrow
  5. Disagree. The company is unstastainable in it's current form and will go bust, regardless of strikes or not, unless changes are implemented, costs are cut and significant savings are made. Striking will only speed up that process and Willie Walshe is fighting it head on and using every which way (Including some less palatable measures) Many thousands of others have lost their jobs, had reduced hours forced on them, had to take pay cuts and seen benefits withdrawn, etc etc. - What makes BA invincible? I have no doubt whatsoever that promises have been broken and previous agreements withdrawn, but it is the "state of the nation" and regardless of whose fault it is, or what caused it, that's where we are right now and BA are no different from any other company. Things will get a whole lot worse before they get better and more blue chip, brand names will bite the dust. As you can see from this thread, Duncan has the respect for standing up for what he believed in, even though not everybody agreed with the cause and that respect is throughly deserved.
  6. Slimy snake of a man. Looks like he is ready to drop brown like a brick.
  7. If you had added an "ie" on the end of your name you would have got 20 times the amount of votes. Sack your campaign manager
  8. 3 different ways; 1) Financial Irregularities (See Luton) 2) Peter Storries tax case (Based on his role as CEO - Thats the charge) 3) Liquidation - No one has ever liquidated and not received a penalty.
  9. We need Clapham Saint or a tax expert. My take on it (Pure guess work, so happy to be corrected) If they owe 140 million of which 17 is secured to baloo and 30 owed to gaydamak, if both debts are due to loans, then nether would incur VAT or tax. There will of course be other debts that won't as well, but assumming that at least half of it does thats a minimum of 17.5% on 70 million quid, which is another 12 million that the tax man will lose out on unless, they can cliam it from pompey
  10. Kinda makes our 4k (The figure that made us insolvent) look a bit pathetic
  11. Indeed. Totally wrong for us and was always going to end up the way it did, but i always liked him and wish him well. Good luck Jan
  12. Could go up further when they get an idea of how the voting will go for the CVA
  13. Absolutely. Think back to our own situation. We effectively pulled the plug due to a 4k bounced cheque? Do people really think rupes walked because of 4k??? Of course not. Once he had lost the support of the bank, the company was effectively insolvent and he walked to protect himself and the other Directors (Quite rightly to - it's not a dig at him) from becoming personally liable for some of the debts, which they could have been if they carried on regardless. I'm not sure of any differences with regard to this law between a PLC and a Ltd. company but as i said many many pages ago, I think someone will do time over all of this and my guess is Mr storrie (For negligence)
  14. It's got beyond a joke. The % for the CVA must have been tight - up goes the debt by another 18 million. Time for the authorties to step in, this is just plain stupid.
  15. Gayboy will accept the CVA. if the debt was say 5 million and it was inflated to 30 million, 20p in the pound and you are still up on the deal. And as for Grant demanding someone is punished. Lets start with him. When the club couldnt pay its curent wage bill, two players spookily paid up thier contracts.....Grant signed them up and added half a million in agents fees to the debt and then still banged on at how unfair it was he wasnt allowed to sign anybody......with what avaram with ******* what http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8655397.stm
  16. Umm excuse me Hatch. The transfer window is not open. There is not a chance in hell that Harry has broken the rules and agreed a deal with Bellamy.
  17. Engineers Blue.... we did the same, unless your stag was called Graham as well
  18. Absolutely. I am a Torie, but even if he gets the majority, it is as you say "A poisioned chalice" . A hung parliment, might sort out the voting system, but that's as good as it gets.
  19. Meanwhile, Andronikou says the fact that Pompey have debts totalling £119million, will not put off parties interested in buying the club. "I do not believe that the figures will come as a surprise to anyone who has been interested in buying the club, when they do due diligence it is there for them to see," Andronikou told ESPN Soccernet His ******* interviews are quality. I think he is trying to fill the void left by Mr Storrie teller. So whether they are 70 million in debt or 120 million, it won't put intrested parties off.:confused:
  20. Ok, may be getting a bit carried away with our (relatively) new found wealth and Steve Finnan has today said he would be happy to play in the Championship, but he hasnt heard anything from pompey about a new contract (He only signed a year contract). Right back is our is our weakest position (IMO) and maybe if we threw a bit of cash at him, he might even consider League 1 ...... Ok probably not
  21. Gill Brothers East Street for; Staypress, Y Cardigans, Farah's Grandad shirts Puffa coats Fook me we knew how to dress
  22. Dear AA, Take a completed lottery slip with Wednesdays winning numbers to Camelot and explain to them that you didn't get a chance to put it on in time, but you would like to collect your prize. You might find their answer simiar to UEFA, FA etc.
  23. Sorry mate, I dont think that's quite right. It was a full overview of their financial position and commitments. It would have had to take into consideration all contractual liabilities.
  24. I was having this conversation yesterday and without saying it's right, it's worth a thought. I think that the cuts that need to be made, to keep this county afloat, will affect absolutely everybody and hit us all very hard. No party has really detailed how they purpose to make up the shortfall or level of cuts that are required and because of that whoever wins will come in for huge public criticisim, growing unrest, which quite often spills over into public disorder, increased crime levels and may be even riots. That might well be an exageration and I hope it is, but the next prime minister will, be like the next Man Utd manager............ They can only fail and fail they will - (Tory, Labour or Liberal)
  25. Indeed. The rest (At best) highlight inaccuracies, confusion, poor administration skills etc. At worse, they might suggest something more sinister, but that one is more tangible and relevant to the whole debt and process etc. One thing that I can't get my head around is the court ordered "SOA"..... The one that showed 78 million pounds worth of debt, the one that the judge based her decision on for a "stay of execution" and the very same one that is now at complete odds, with the administrators figures and which clearly highlights that either storie and his co executives or aa and his administrators are lying. There doesn't seem to be anything about this in the press, but unless i am missing something is this not the most significant piece of evdience that something is / has gone wrong (legally)
