  1. That is fine as a mentality for the players, and my personal preference would be to fly under the radar of the press, but there is more to it than that. At the recent "Leaders in Football" (Or whatever it is called now) Cortese stated he wanted to increase revenues by 70% (I think that is what is was, or even 80%). That is going to take a huge about of diversity and execution. There is no doubt that the media attention and subsequent England call ups, have significantly increased the profile of the club, which from a commercial perspective can only help. Whilst it might only represent a relatively small amount of money (In comparison to a 70% uplift) one thing we haven't done very well (IMO) at over the last 3 years is advertising and corporate. This current media love in can only help us to do better and then of course when it comes to Corporate Sponsorship, It opens a whole new world. So from a commercial view, it is pure gold.
  2. He certainly was - and yes he should have done, but didn't come close to matching Le Tiss's contribution league wise. (Goals / assists)
  3. http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=522523 Ouch micha has to cough up 25 big ones
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24917007 Step up J Rod...... you're on.
  5. He has a son - Who plays for Totton Reserves - right Midfield.
  6. Errr. No, It was Mo Po and his son..... No interpretor in sight.... As I said this was outside of football.
  7. I was never convinced with the "He can actually speak English" argument, until I heard from a friend outside of Football, who met him (And his Son) and apparently he can. Perfectly coherent conversation.......So this is just his way of protecting himself and don't think you will find many Saints fans who want to argue with any of his decisions so far, so no issue with it from this end.
  8. Sometimes we do need the media - You could argue Cortese needed and used them in the summer, with the "I will quit" stories. At the moment they all seem to be gushing over us, which is nice, in the sense we can read how great we are etc. but there is still part of me that would like to be a little bit more below the radar. But this is the Premier league so whether we want their attention or not, it's tough luck, we've got it and there is nothing that anyone - Cortese including, can do a about it....... It just comes down to managing it in a way that could be used to our advantage ..... and I would say we are doing a pretty good job with that right now.
  9. I liked this paragraph Lallana was part of the acclaimed side which reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2005 and lost to Ipswich, although he was on the bench with Bale. Walcott started, as did Swansea winger Nathan Dyer, Ipswich’s David McGoldrick, Barnsley’s Martin Cranie and Blackburn striker Leon Best. 10. Which one would it be? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/ufo/8512553/The-top-10-greatest-conspiracy-theories.html To make it a bit more UK, I would add Diana was murdered to the list. When I was younger, someone older dismissed the moon landings as fake and it has always left a nagging doubt in my mind, that I have never been able to shake. I guess I was impressionable at the time, but it has stayed with me, so I would go for that one, but knowing deep down they were real. The other one that I find myself questioning, is Diana's death, but again knowing deep down there is probably nothing to it. I don't think we need to visit the more recent and controversial theories - The list contains enough........ Although never heard of the Mcartney one.
  11. Having finally caved in, I got an iphone in September and have been a convert ever since. Until last week, when I started to get continual "call failed" alerts and was unable to make or receive calls, but texts and emails weren't affected as much. I booked my slot at the apple shop and they did some diagnostics on it and told me that there were 308 failed calls which were due to the handset and then promptly replaced it..... nightmare over, I returned home and began to make some calls ..... Call ******* failed again. So what I had assumed to be the phone - could now only be one thing - The sim card. Back into town, booked a slot in the vodaphone shop and they replaced the sim. Waited for 30 mins - rebooted and bingo - Back in action and all working fine. Returned home and everything still working...........Until the next morning - "call failed" - new phone, new sim- So I was stumped. After a bit of digging around - Facebook came up with the answer. I live in Lordswood and last week the masts in our area (Or whatever they are called) were updated to 4g and this is what is causing the problem. I have no idea if effects other phones than just the iphone, but if you are having the same problems - It is almost certainly this. The short term fix is to simply turn off 3g and the phone then works fine, but for complete resolution you have to contact vodaphone and have your contract upgraded to 4g. I have no idea if they charge for this, but would assume not. Apple must be a bit annoyed if they are having to replace perfectly good handsets, for something that isn't their fault.
  12. That shop was owned by tottenham

  16. Pah - Donned one in 1986 to go with my Suzuki ER 50cc bike - Thought my ship had come in.
  17. 1. Chelsea 2. Leicester City 3. Manchester United 4. Stoke City 5. West Ham United 6. Newcastle United / Manchester City 7. Sunderland / Southampton 8. Tottenham Hotspur / Hull City Don't like draws when we are still not through, but with the lucky number 7, I'll take it. I wonder whether an easy/easier draw will change MP's team ahead of next week? If he can see a clear route to Wembley, then may be he will really go for it.

  19. The exciting thing about why we wont be signing zaha, is nothing to do with anything posted so far and nothing to do withour "loan" policy, it's because at this point in time, Saints are a threat to Man utd, forget how much of a threat or for how long, but manu utd will not be loaning us any players that could help our cause.
  20. You forgot "Woggy" the kit man. That was my favorite reaction of yours.
  21. Great so don't sing and don't have a pop at those that do.
