  1. My daughter was racially abused (verbally) by a minicab driver in London. She called the police and was told that she had no chance of prosecution, she asked if it would have worked the other way around and was answered "probably love, I know it's wrong but that'sthe way it is" ! Ps. she is white, the driver was Asian !
  2. I suppose it's a matter of opinion but I don't think that Spanish cuisine is in the same league as Italian !
  3. Fair play to the Pompey trust in keeping the pressure on the club to do something ! At least they are not in denial, believing that everything is hunky dory, unlike our resident troll on this thread !
  4. I know the city very well but don't consider it as a tourist place as such ! San Siro is a must if there is a match on (great experience!). You can visit the Piazza del Duomo and the famous galleria and if you get a chance (and can afford it !) the opera at La Scala is world class ! The main highlight though is eating out, but avoid the main touristy type places on the main drags, much better to go local (get recommendations at the hotel !), The area of Brera is good for bars, restaurants and nightlife but be warned that nothing is particularly cheap ! HTH
  5. I don't know what all the fuss is about, it happens in Skatesville all the time
  6. When I worked in Brussels I had colleagues from most European countries and we regularly compared notes on salaries, tax, bonuses etc.. The top rate was often the most emotive topic but everything depended on the thresholds and also other factors such as mandatory church tax, separate rubbish tax, child allowances, stamp duties, mortgage relief, company car tax, etc, etc...) My conclusion after most of these discussions was that it was 'swings and roundabouts' and generally speaking people at the same executive level had a very similar standard of living, regardless of what their highest rate of personal income tax actually was !!
  7. Please, please tell me that you forgot a smiley to indicate that you were taking the p*ss ?
  8. Which, according to the Skates is very unfair and has been introduced specifically to hinder their 'paperthin' squads lately !
  9. I used to call him 'Scuffer' because he never seemed to strike the ball cleanly, even when he scored they were quite often mis hits ! A few regulars who sit around me in the Kingsland hated him because they thought he was lazy, personally I was never sure whether it was just an unfortunate type of body language which could perhaps be described as 'languid' ! Suffice to say, I wouldn't swap him for Lambo, Conners, Barney or Guly so am not concerned that we sold him ! Ps. please delete this post if the barsteward scores on Sat
  10. Alpine, would you like to see Walcott have a good game tonight or just Bale ??
  11. No.3 according to Wiki !! Strange name for a group considering there was nobody of that name actually in the band !!
  12. Correct !
  13. Apparently Liverpool are keen to loan Danny Wilson to a championship club ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Wilson_(Scottish_footballer) Given that Seabourne will be out for a while (same position/left footer) it could be a good option in the short term ! He was a sub for Scotland and was involved in the penalty that never was !
  14. To be fair, he had no right to introduce a fact which interfered with others' opinions :)
  15. A female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time. To check it out, she went to the Wall, and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site. She watched him pray, and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, using a cane and moving very slowly, she approached him for an interview. "Pardon me Sir, I'm Rebecca Smith from CNN. What's your name? "Morris Feinberg," he replied "Sir, how long have you been coming to the Wailing Wall to pray?" "For about 60 years." "60 years! That's amazing! What do you pray for?" "I pray for peace between the Christians, Jews and the Muslims." "I pray for all the wars and all the hatred to stop." "I pray for all our children to grow up safely as responsible adults, and to love their fellow man." "And how do you feel Sir, after doing this for 60 years?" "It's like talking to a f#cking brick wall" !
  16. Dear Corporate Ho, For pity's sake, give it a f#cking rest ! Life's too short !
  17. Perhaps he is a big fan of John Terry ??
  18. As I read this thread I am looking at a picture of my son with Jimmy Case at an open training session about 25 years ago ! (It is on the wall in my study!). It meant a lot to him at the time and I also remember it as a great day, meeting all the players of that time ! I'm afraid that fan websites seem to bring out the worst in some people who always tend to look for a 'hidden agenda' ! I'm delighted that those who attended enjoyed it and hope that 25 years down the line they still have something to proudly look back upon !
  19. Some Welsh bloke from Llanfairpwllgwyngyll I suppose
  20. TBF it's generally the way things work in war torn situations (doesn't make it right, I accept)! You can be sure that the French and Italians are up to the same thing one way or another, so better that British interests are at the forefront ! A bit rich from the Labour guy criticising it when his former leader was up to all sorts of tricks a few years ago !!
  21. I'm sure that none of these creditors would want payment on the original CVA terms and would much prefer to wait a further 12 months as this was 'agreed' ? When people call you thick Ho, you really do tend to confirm it on a regular basis !
  22. It's down at the laundry at the moment, they only have to take in their ticket to collect it
  23. That you are a bunch of lying, cheating crooks ! You remain 'guilty as charged', now Ho (for your own good!) give it a rest !!
  24. So good you said it twice
  25. I honestly thought that this thread was to do with Jessica Ennis " The bubble has burst, discus " ! Apparently though, it was the javelin that let her down !!
