The great lord made a couple of serious contradictions himself though : He said that 'nobody can make money from football' but at the same time admitted that he bought Spurs for 8mil and sold them for 50mil ! He also mocked the other premier league chairmen for claiming he had a 'conflict of interest' over the Sky deal, as he supplied the satellite dishes ! He then proceeded to run to their negotiator (Sam Chisolm) to warn him that ITV had stepped in so he should immediately top their offer, which they did ! Personally I think that he sounded just about as crooked as the players, managers and agents he was so scornful about !

I thought he said £15mil not £50 mil !! That would add to £25mil which in round figures would make sense ! Might be wrong but that's what I thought I'd heard !

I think we need a 'headline' signing first of all ( Michael Owen type or someone with huge respect in the game ?) as this would encourage other potential targets and show that we are seriously making a push for the big time ! Knowing NC and NA though it will probably all be very low key, but my suggestion does send out a message about our intenetions !

Been to 18/23 home league games plus 4 in the cups, none away ! Without wishing to compete with other European based fans, when I lived in Belgium I kept on my ST and averaged 8/10 matches per season !!

I suppose it has been easier to enjoy Lge 1 as we will have gained 92 points (assume win tomorrow!) and scored over 80 goals along the way ! The championship will bring different challenges and undoubtedly be harder but coming to SMS to watch Leeds rather than Hartlepool or Poopey rather than Yeovil does tend to make the heart beat a little bit faster ! Yeah, it changed after I posted it, but remember that if we lose 1-0 to Walsall, Hudds only need 17 v Brentford to do it ! Ps. I know I'm 'gibberising' but a combination of the wine and the excitement is the cause !!!
