Is it only me that thinks the term " Official Pouring Rights Partner " is a bit pretentious ?? No doubt that in time they will be know as the OPRP ! All very new world I suppose, but couldn't they just say "our new beer supplier is" ??
-
Perhaps they will announce that the 72% increase in the ST price for some of their most loyal punters was a big mistake and they have decided to scrap it on the very day that tickets are released?? (Sh#t I've just woken up, I must have been dreaming) !!

Pearce (the CB from Bournemouth) has signed for sure and Norris has allegedly signed too, apart from this it is all speculation and paper talk ! Still, only 2 or 3 more and they will have a starting 11

But the world is our oyster ! (or lobster if you prefer the Arthur Daley version !).

Perhaps you were taking the p1ss but just for the record he is 5'8" ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Owen

Given a poll on this subject, I am convinced that the vast majority of UK subjects would defend the rights of the householder to act as he decides ! It's only the politicians and judges who get confused about the difference between right and wrong ! All IMHO of course !

Seems that the Saab situation is not improving, the poor Russkies will be kept busy over the next few weeks !! (sorry, the attachment didn't work!).

"Live by the sword, die by the sword" ! Self inflicted death IMHO !

What are the chances that a beer of 8.5% will be sold at a football match ?? Great beer though, been p1ssed on it manys a time ! http://www.duvel.be/#/uk/en/the_beer

TBF he was a 'bright spark' !

Blatter promised 'total transparency', this was his first opportunity to prove that he was serious and look at the result, a joke once again !!! A proper (independent) investigation into all the corruption charges is the only way forward, anything less is a cop out !

Who was your favourite foreign Saints player? (current players don't count)

x 2 Class personified ! -
I don't remember anyone blaming a toilet for our lack of signings last year ! Am I missing something ??
-
Actually, that was a bargain ! Hughes was on £18k, Brown was on £20k and Ben Haim was getting £38k for a similar input !
-
That's all they had to do ! Christ, even the government didn't change the retirement age suddenly in one go !!!

Exclusive! New signing from St. James Park to St Mary's....

I'm pleased to see that they are beginning to invest some of my 72% increase already ! -
] At the age of 58 I was asked by my company if I would accept early retirement in order to make way for 'younger blood' coming through ! I was paid off (through the pension fund!) and felt that it was the honourable thing to do, although I could have refused without being penalised ! Since then my annual income has been roughly half of what it was but I'm still pretty satisfied with my lot and tend not to complain unless I think that something is a bit extreme and this is where the 72% comes in ! Frankly, I have reluctantly accepted the club's decision and moved on, but sadly I find the attitude of some (probably younger?) posters on here to be quite insulting given the circumstances and reasons why I stopped working !
-
Winger ? I only ever saw him play at centre midfield and am sure that he does not have the pace and/or trickery for a wide player !!
-
I politely stated my case by e-mail and got a bog standard, pre-prepared reply which basically told me what I already knew, and no, it was not satisfactory !!
-
I'm sure they won't worry about a minor detail like that !!
-
I find this thread thoroughly depressing now, firstly I'm disappointed by the club for dropping a bombshell for the second consecutive year and on top of that we have argument & abuse about the issues on here ! Clearly those affected by the huge increase (72%) are going to be upset and this is understandable, but the vitriol from some fellow fans seems to me to be completely unwarranted ! I believe that it is a sad situation which does nothing to enhance the feelgood factor which was really beginning to unfold !!!
-
Interesting reading for those who think that Saints are overly generous to the 'wrinklies' !! http://www.manutd.com/en/Tickets-And-Hospitality/Ticket-Prices/Season-Tickets.aspx
-
I bow to your superior knowledge on the detail, but nevertheless this action had a pretty disastrous effect and basically triggered the demise of final salary pensions in the private sector !
-
I am aware that my argument was over simplified but I still do not feel that my future pension is "being financed by us!" as was stated by Aintforever ! Whatever happens my overall contributions will far outweigh what I receive ! As for my generation 'milking' the economy, does this mean that your generation of bankers and politicians have 'screwed' the economy as we are now trillions in debt !! BTW the tax relief on private pensions was scrapped by Gordon Brown (one of his first acts as chancellor) around 1997/98 ! As for me subsidising you, I did, your education, healthcare, security etc.. was paid by the contributions of previous generations !!! Ps. although I am affected by the 72% increase I have not complained about personal circumstances nor am I refusing to renew, I have just taken umbrage to some invalid statements regarding my place in society !!
-
I think you'll find that this has changed and any woman born after 1950 is now affected. My wife was born in Dec 1952 and will now get her pension 2yrs and 4 months later than expected ! http://www.ageuk.org.uk/money-matters/pensions/state-pension/
