Did he chicken out ?
-
sound on now
-
No sound for me, is this normal ?
-
I haven't seen word about that but if he has then surely the club can dock his wages ?? I suppose that none of us know the real facts but if he refuses to play, then (contractually) it's a different ball game !!
-
P!ssing down all day so I think I'll give it a miss even although I bought a ticket in advance ( cheap double header with the Seville game ! ). I'm guessing that there will be almost no 'walk-up' so it could be like a morgue ! Not ideal for Mauricio's first home outing !!
-
From what I have read, he has not done that, Pellegrino was the one who insisted that he train alone as he felt that team spirit may be affected ! VVD and his advisors are clearly trying to avoid 'strike' accusations as this would negatively impact on their financial position. That is why the best tactic for SFC is to sit it out ! IMHO of course !
-
TBF, that could apply to just about every current PL player !
-
North Korea stands alone as a 'terrorist threat' which is not Islamist, nor directly at war with anyone else (yet) but the complete and utter contempt for the human rights of it's own people should not be ignored IMHO ! To watch a whole nation bow and scrape in such obviously fake public exhibitions is just not natural and confirms the abject, day to day fear under which they live ! Surely the Chinese must soon wake up to the fact that they are the only power which could change this situation before Trump loses his rag and dumps another Hiroshima bomb on the poor b@stards !!

We will get more points than last season but quite possibly a lower position so most of the bedwetters should be transformed to happy-clappers ! VVD will kindly consent to grace us with his presence for one more year and play his heart out (bless!), Stephens will kick on.. We will sign 2 more unknown young players, one of whom will become an instant starlet and Liverpool will show an interest ! However, to be perfectly honest, I have absolutely no idea how we will get on this season but what I do know is that I will support my club through thick and thin as I have done now for over 47 years !!

Things we learnt from today's match : a) Never play in French graveyards. b) Romeu looks silly with hair. c) Taylor is a great goalkeeping prospect. d) Substitutions changed the game. e) We are everybody's favourite to be relegated. f) People do not renew ST's based on 45 mins of a meaningless match.. g) You can find a few t0ssers on Saintsweb match threads. h) Matty Targett is the new MLT. Apart from that, it was a run-of-the-mill pre-season friendly ! Have a nice evening

So pleased I renewed my ST !
-
We'll walk the league I'm sure ! 2-0
-
Got 2 in our last away match at Brentford !
-
Where is it then ?

Are you Alpine in disguise

Is this the Saint Etienne stadium or just their training ground ??

I much prefer it this way, keeps my ageing braincells from festering

It really doesn't take a genius or a long-winded statistical analysis to explain why we didn't score enough goals last season ! We made shed loads of chances but just didn't take them ! This was down to a combination of bad luck and bad finishing ! In fairness, Austin only played half a season, as did Gabbiadini but even so we should (and could) have scored more ! I am hoping that Pellegrino instills a bit more confidence and positivity into our strikers because I don't feel that we are so very far away at all ! Less rotation is inevitable (no Europa league) so, given a good run in the side, I feel sure that our strikers will score more than last time and maybe, just maybe, we'll get a better return from the midfield area ! There is zero chance of buying an established, top class striker at £50 mil plus so we need to get the best out of what we have and IMHO Austin, Gabbi, Shane and Gallagher have the ability, they just need the platform to express themselves ! The new manager is pretty much the key to this, so I wish him well and hope that all comes good !

Even on this website of weird opinions, I do not remember anyone calling for mediocrity or preferring a 'lack of ambition' ! Sure, there are differing views on how we should be run etc.. but nobody is striving for failure or have I completely lost the plot ??
-
This is exactly the problem, without knowing the details of deals such as this, it is impossible to consider whether we are 'squeaky clean' or could be accused of hypocrisy ! That's why only Les etc.. can decide to proceed or not !
-
It is pretty well unprecedented to get an apology such as that from Liverpool the other week so surely we have a strong case right now, but who knows what skeletons are in our own cupboards from days gone by (Christ, we even had 'Arry as manager for a short time) !

Our half-witted fans don't know how lucky they are

In the last 4 years, only Leicester (once) have been above us other than teams from London, Manchester and Liverpool which, given their resources you would have to expect ! Strikes me that we are punching above our weight as a result of being 'well run' and that any change of business direction could jeopardise this ! Without the Liebherr family we could have been toast and frankly we have been blessed with top class ownership, directors, management etc.. The grass is always greener...... -
They got that wrong then, why should we listen to prats from other (lower division) teams !
-
Continuity.. British... Experience... Player knowledge...Popular.. Not all was bad last year, why chuck the baby out with the bathwater ? Most companies would see this a very sensible succession plan, why not you and the king troll ??
-
Other (non English) teams that are similar to Saints 'way' ?
eurosaint replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
There are two things in life you cannot change, your mother and your football team ! So Saints are for life, for good or for bad ! As it happens right now, we are in quite a good phase so I'm happy ! No other team fits the bill !
