Hooiveld and Yoshida helped to keep a clean sheet last night against a high flying Everton team, Fonte has shown real quality lately too, so when you add Forren into the equation we are much better off than the earlier part of the season ! I think that between them we are now pretty well covered and to add anyone else at this stage might rock the boat a bit, best to stick with it and hope for the best IMO !!

I think that the Don normally bungs in a bit extra to buy their silence ??

What I don't like is that there has been no official announcement (I can't find anything on the OS!) that anyone other than Nigel has left ? Surely there could have been some words of thanks to Crosbie, Wilkins etc.. who all played a big part in our recent successive promotions ! Also no official mention of these new Spanish guys, I realise that we are just the punters, here to pay our money and accept what is done without question, but as far as communication goes, it is pretty cr#p IMHO !! Assuming that you are being serious, I'll bite ! Whenever any 'fan' is approached by the media for his opinion, somebody on this website spouts off about him 'not representing me' etc, etc.. Can you not accept that reporters are not able to speak to everybody and will pick out someone who has a connection to a supporters group (or similar!) and listen to their opinion ? If Steve had said anything arrogant or outrageous, then perhaps you would have a point to make but he didn't so there is no issue whatsoever !

Looks to me like he has started the 'softening up' process for the natives ! It's possible that he has heard something negative about the bid and is beginning to backtrack, just seems a bit strange that out of the blue he is now actually using the 'L' word !

Thanks for everything Nigel, you leave here with your head held high and your dignity intact, it's such a pity that I can't say the same for the guy that sacked you ! I wish you well in whatever job you have in the future and assure you of a warm welcome should you return to see us again !

Abramovich has money but no class and I'm afraid that our chairman has just displayed exactly the same trait ! Loyalty, integrity and even common courtesy have been chucked out of the window today ! The sacking is bad enough but the lack of a proper explanation as to why is an insult to the clubs followers, merely to state that 'there was a need for change to move forward' is simply not good enough ! If no respect is shown to the fans, then it will not be reciprocated and this is surely an unhealthy situation ! Inevitably the furore will die down but I, for one, will not forget the damage done to the heart and soul of a 127 year old institution !

I am baffled and deeply saddened by today's events ! Many thanks Nigel for all that you have done for us and I truly wish you well for the future ! I know nothing about the new man and am disappointed to hear that he does not speak English because it will need a lot of words of comfort and encouragement for players and supporters alike in the coming few weeks ! With Everton, Man U, Wigan and Man City in the next 4 games, he will be very lucky to get any/many points and the natives will very quickly become restless so there will be no honeymoon period ! I am very seldom downbeat about the Saints and favour long term stability over constant change but this decision really makes me wonder why people in football behave the way they do ??

A) I don't condone diving but accept that it is a regular occurrence ! B) Nigel said in his after match interview that he expects good behaviour from his players in this respect, seems a reasonable assumption that it will be discussed in the routine analysis ! C) Please note the word 'maybe' and be aware that flowery language is often used to emphasise a point. If you seriously think that I expect anyone to self harm then I honestly believe that you are the daft one, not me !

I think that Saints are at the top of (or very close to) the fair play league ! Unlike most managers Nigel never criticises refs when things go against him so it's surely fair that he keeps his counsel when the reverse happens ? I don't imagine that our players are coached to cheat and when incidents like this (occasionally) happen we have to put it down to experience ! I'm equally sure that Nigel will have a word with him to ensure that it does not become the norm ! There will no doubt be a negative analysis on MoTD and JRod will be castigated but this will be short lived and we will all move on to the next controversy which will be waiting just around the corner !!
