Exactly. There's no way £30 million has been spent on wages, after you take out £7million Burley spent.
-
We played route 1 V Barnsley, the worst team in the league, with our tallest striker playing. This should answer your question.
-
Bad start to the season has nothing to do with it. Our first home game was what, 15,000?
-
What the hell just happened on the Saint? Cope was describing Rotheram, it cut out and then all I heard was "Flybe have gone into administration". Then it went back to the Rotheram piece....
-
Actually ours was slightly better. We scored and the deficit was the same. And we knew we were sh*t, we weren't in Europe and we didn't have "the best english manager ever FACT official ltd".

Alan Stubbs, eh?

If Roopie starts begging thru the press...

Calm down mate, I bought my season ticket as soon as they came on sale and I will be going to every home game, not to mention around 4-5 away games. -

I have no idea, they all happened at the opposite end to me. -
If Roopie starts begging thru the press...

He won't beg, he will just come out with something like "the people who have a personal vendetta against me, and especially those who are staying away because of it, are killing this club". -
Saints 0-0 Barnsley - Reaction/Doughnuts/Lucy Pinder Thread

The stats are very deceiving. We were awful today. With Pekhart in the team, we have turned back into a hoofing side, which is a shame as he is a good finisher - but I would rather he was left out if we are not going to continue with good football. -
Wrong. Blackstock requested a transfer, we wanted to keep him but he said he was not guaranteed first team football so said he wanted to go, and he left. I really don't understand why people still think we wanted to get rid of him. It's been said enough times on here.

She's 16, go for it.
-
To be fair, the original poster said nothing about Saga being mad to go.
-
I was not aware of this. I shall be watching it at the first opportunity now.
-
Exactly - I have nothing against him and i'm sure he is effective in his own position. However, you need different attributes to play in different positions and he just doesn't have the ones needed to play RB.
-
Exit, please tell me you got James and Cork mixed up there
-
I don't think it's made any difference. We have much more stewards now than we used to - especially around the edge of the pitch. There was a steward every 2 metres. Also, in the Kingsland north, they still had the same amount of staff working in the bar/diner. So please someone explain where we are saving money? If we are talking about "necessary evils", surely we should close the whole of the Chapel or the whole of the Kingsland? This would save on stewards and medical staff for the whole stand.

Gutted to be honest. We could really regret letting him go - or Ipswich could never give him a chance and he will fall into non-league football. I think the former, FWIW.
-
Cork at RB, Wotton at CB. Wotton has impressed me massively so far, looks much better than most of us thought. His passing in particular has surprised me. To be honest, I would drop Gillett and play Wotton and Morgan in DM. Not through Gillett doing anything wrong - just playing our best players in their best positions.
-
He wanted to leave as we couldn't guarantee him first team football. We wanted to keep him.
-
Have you seen him play yet? He's f*cking awful.

Why did we play Derby and Birmingham off the park?
Saint_clark replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I'm not saying we didn't, but in every game i've seen the opposition has played good football too. I think the standard of football on a whole in this league has been underestimated. -
I was just about to ask about that. Given Spurs' current striking options, if Pekhart scores regularly is there a chance they might want him back when the loan ends? I'd certainly have him over that Pavlyuchenko or however you spell it.

In the interview with him in the programme yesterday, he said that he heard there was interest in him towards the end of the transfer window but, because he wanted to stay here so badly, he turned his phone off on the last day to make sure he couldn't get any offers. He also says he loves the club and the area. All this would explain why he seems to hungry and enthusiastic. Love to hear this kind of thing.

Saint_clark replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Because they underestimated us. Bit off topic, but JP said in the program that he is "sure we can be the best team in this league if we stick to our principles and believe, believe, believe".
