I'm assuming Barnes will be included in the 25 man squad from now on so possible Ralph has decided that him and Gallagher are good enough to see us through the season as back up to Ings, Long and Obafemi. As well as Redmond being in form in front of goal, he could play up top in a pinch.

Always amazes me when people say we should have kept him. It was blatantly obvious from day one that he came to us on a 6 month deal just to bring some money in for him and to offer cover for us - we were always going to play Stephens ahead of him to get him the experience, Caceres was there purely in case we had ANOTHER injury at the back. He was never interested in staying at Saints long term, it was just 6 months of getting paid and move on to bigger things.

Amazingly blinkered from some people on here, claiming JWP corner didn't beat the first man when it was intentionally played low and outwards for Charlie Austin to flick it back into the 6 yard box- which he did.
