  1. We swarmed the Green Man last time out, right next door to Wembley. Huge grounds.
  2. They may not, but we have a self enforced budget that we won't be going over. His last club was Juve and he's getting towards the end of his career so more than possible he's demanding upwards of £100k a week on a long deal.
  3. Yeah, I agree. Would be an interesting opportunity for all involved.
  4. Bom bom bom bom badum ba ba ba bom He was excited to come to Southampton, He was excited as he could be, And that's why he came over the ocean, And he signed for us from Napoli (2, 3, 4, tell the people who will score) It is the itsy bitsy teeny weeny Manolo Gabbiadini, Who will score for Southampton today. The itsy bitsy teeny weeny Manolo Gabbiadini, And at Southampton we want him to stay (2, 3, 4, stick around we'll tell you more...) Repeat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRy5lO0rtZY
  5. If Milan couldn't reach his wage demands, it's possible he might only sign for us within our budget if offered a 6 month deal to put him in the shop window.
  6. If he'd picked the same team and we'd lost he'd have been slated anyway. Very little other options left to him. The fixtures list decongests pretty soon for us. We'll see less rotation then.
  7. I suggest people aren't quite considering the monumental effort our other players put in less than 3 days ago, with another game in 3 days...
  8. Shut the **** up you massive ****ing c*nt.
  9. Lewis looks really poor, sorry.
  10. Looking at Arsenals line up we can definitely still win this. We need to test Gardos at some point, no use just writing off a £7million (£10+million with wages) investment.
  11. With the amount of crosses we get into the box a tall strong striker could thrive, whether he's the one to do so is a big gamble though.
  12. I said 99% because there are sure to be younger fans there who haven't yet experienced that loss. I just feel like that kind of tribute is out of place in what is supposed to be a grand event and celebration. There's nothing wrong with people taking a quiet moment and remembering those lost when they want rather than at a prearranged time that forces them to.
  13. Things I love about this video even forgetting the scousers reactions: 1. Seeing the bench erupt. 2. Seeing the fans going mental (wish it was a clearer pictures though). 3. Seeing the players all going mental and swarming towards Long.
  14. Agree with much of the sentiment above. RIP to the guy, it's a very sad story...but there is a time and a place for this sort of thing and I don't believe football is it. As someone has mentioned, this is a huge occasion for the club and i'm sure 99% of the fans attending will have someone they will be thinking about who they wish could be there...it's better to let them quietly think about that person in their own way. The biggest example of how this trend has gone so far that it now seems insincere is that every single team now wears black armbands in almost every game. I'm sure sometimes there isn't even anything to wear them for, they just wear them as part of the uniform now.
  15. As above, very interesting that we were tracking Romeu for so long. Wonder who else we've had our eyes on...I know Coutinho was one.
  16. No name required at purchase but you are required to acknowledge Nigel Adkins achievements and ability.
  17. Not really because we have outgoings that need to be paid. Profit was less than £20million last year I think. Now that the owner can pocket if they so choose...
  18. He's older than Theo was when he played for us and a completely different style of footballer. Their pace is similar although Walcott is still quicker.
  19. There's a lad called Olafebi (?) who seems to have got a lot of goals for the youth recently.
  20. Surely you being the super duperest of all fans qualify for the first round of tickets, Alex?
  21. For the JPT you picked a category and were allocated seats IIRC.
  22. Yeah...if he's out for another month or more now we're going to have to seriously consider whether keeping him next summer is viable. He's been fantastic recently, but can we afford to carry someone who can spend more than half the season out injured?
  23. Will obviously give him a chance, but he doesn't seem like someone who's going to come in and score more goals than anyone else we already have here. Also holy sh*t i'm watching Sky Sports transfer centre and they're LITERALLY using his stats from football manager whilst discussing his ability.
  24. I assume he omitted that because he's already bought one...but then I guess he could always just buy one more!
  25. People say that attendances prove an expansion wouldn't be worth it, but there's a lot of evidence that points to a "build it and they will come" trend in football. If you have a ground that's easy to get to, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing...it usually winds up drawing more people in. There was an excellent chapter in the book Soccernomics about it. In this case though, I think i'd rather the money they're putting forward be spent on acquiring some of the land around the stadium and developing it for commercial use. If we could build a "plaza" type area with Saints owned and run bars, a restaurant etc. It would make St Marys an incredibly attractive destination.
