Although I think it may have been tongue in cheek, there was certainly more than 44,000 Saints fans there. Easy to work out when you look at the ticket sales. 73,476 tickets sold in total (Saints, Carlisle and Club Wembley). Carlisle only sold around 22,000 tickets, leaving 51,000.
