  1. No you're just being illiterate (you can't even spell ****) . The clue is in the "I'm not defending Venables but don't make stuff [up] ". ie. it's not about the offence it's about people's lack of grasp of the facts / deliberate exaggeration (something that seems to be rife on hooligan threads where "all they did was pet kittens and get 3 years for it FFS...."). Let judges be judges.
  2. Good, I like Papa. I think he brings something different. I bet AP will survive if we've made it into the Champions League..... Your last point may be true, but it is a matter of interpretation... i.e. make sure you praise the players, not the manager. Thanks for the info.
  3. I mean't what brmbrm says...... Posters would do well to think about how much they know rather than how much they 'feel'. i.e. **** all vs. outrage.
  4. What he said.

  6. Poor player G - he can't catch a break.
  7. Historically it was in Saint's interest to get season ticket income in early in order to cover the incomeless summer months. Now that's not the case, in fact it is Saints' interest to have as few season tickets as possible. This strategy works when you win games and are doing well which is what Saints expect to do this year.
  8. Absolutely. I can't understand the fuss over this. On the assumption that SFC have to (at a mimimum) cover their costs, effectively SFC have two options: 1) Take the cost of providing the ticket office services per year and divide it by the number of tickets sold. Then put up ticket prices accordingly. 2) Take the cost of providing the ticket office services per year and divide it by the number of transactions actioned by the ticket office. Charge a booking fee accordingly. Having a transaction charge makes everything transparent, it's not stealth, it's not immoral, it's not unethical. It's clear, honest and good business. It also means (which I suspect is why Saints prefer it) that the cost of staffing/printing/selling/dispatching a ticket is predicatable and consistent whether they're selling normal games or special games (eg. JPT final). Probably Saints are making a turn on the transaction fee (for their benefit and convenience / rounding purposes). Not surprising and equally I'd expect them to make a similar percentage as if the cost was hidden in the ticket.
  9. Any sympathy for your argument is lost in that paragraph. Perhaps you should look in the mirror? To follow your argument, Saints have provided the ultimate opportunity for an individual to "to decide if they think it is worth the interest/service charge" by forcing people to go into the wider market. The failure isn't of Saints not providing an installement plan, it's of Saints not providing sufficient communication of their intent. Anyway carry on with your circular arguments. SFC isn't going to change its mind now, regardless of how many diatribes you write.
  10. I'm going for a 0-1 loss against Colchester. Followed by a week of blame and reprisals on this forum. (in advance of this calamitous event, I'll refer people to Norwich's first game last season and leave it at that).
  11. In the context of human history, 'few' is a fluid concept. Relax, let time wash over you and you'll have time to prep your complaints that: - The neck is too tight (too tight, or have you just got a fat neck - That the name printing font should be Bodini 35pt, not 34pt. - That the badge is too scratchy. Plenty of time. And for those who thinks Cortese doesn't listen, I firmly believe the 'no sponsor' decision was driven by the complaints that the sponsor logo was falling off after 3 washes at 4000 degrees centigrade.
  12. Do you still get charged if you book online?
  13. Surely the installment plan is a form of credit!?! Not giving an installment plan is concentrating on Saints' core business (football, not finance) but they should have given more notice. Probably best to let it lie now.
  14. Good point . I borrowed for a car so £125 was a rounding error! Rates are good for a decent credit rating. Ok so not a good idea. Failing that, pimp your sister.
  15. Despite a 'quit moaning' post yesterday, I can understand why this makes it difficult for some. The club should be doing whatever it can to get buyers in the door. However, if as a previous poster suggested they administered it manually last season, I can also see why the club stopped it. So, my solution would be to go to http://www.zopa.com and borrow money from there. Cheaper than a credit card and you can pay back early without penalty. All online. Simple. I've lent and borrowed with them before and it was very easy.
  16. I've just asked the ticket office this. Yes if the seats you want to move to are unoccupied, no if not.
  17. I'm sorry but 28% not renewing smacks of typical forum over reaction. Once the dust has settled people will renew, just like they always do. No repayment plan? Get a 0% credit card. Spent the money you saved? Get some self control. Moaning because the price has gone up? Don't keep asking for new signings. Still good value for a Saturday afternoon in my opinion and in line with other clubs (once you take out some of those 'oop North / in competitive areas). I'll be renewing but I won £12m on the Lotto on Saturday, so cashflow isn't an issue
  18. How dare they be the biggest spenders in league 1. S Sir Rickie doesn't work for peanuts.
  19. I'll never forgot Marians for his goals (Man U / Pompey especially, but crucially in the Great Escape season. However, those memories are sullied by the fact that when the club really needed him in later years he was injured (granted sometimes genuinely, other times less so). After the early years (1999 - 2002), he was a drain on the clubs meagre resources and I have a bad taste about his role (or lack thereof) in the relegation season / Championship season. When we really needed the little man to step up to the plate, he was injured (genuine maybe, but often it sounded work shy). His goal return in those years (granted most as a sub, some on the wing) wasn't good and when he did play he didn't put in a great amount of effort. 1998-99 6 3 1999-00 33 13 2000-01 31 9 2001-02 36 14 2002-03 9 1 2003-04 14 2 2004-05 0 0 2005-06 8 1 It's kind of like only going to work 25% of the time but still being treated like a hero. Nice work if you can get it but I find it hard to celebrate it. So thanks for the goals MP, I just wish you could have been bothered to do more when we really needed you.
  20. Anyone who thinks you can be a CEO without also having a strong self belief that you're always right (aka arrogance), is either 14 or deluded. There's not a huge difference between Lowe and Cortese, they're both businessmen who had/have an iron grip on the club. The difference is that Cortese has a mandate, from the fans (for now) and from ML's wallet. Long may it continue. The mandate makes a huge difference. If Lowe had 'pulled a programme' there would have been marches, plane banners and posts full of vitriol. Whoever heard of someone in football with the name Nicola? Answers on a postcard to Torino please.
  21. Has Skacel signed? Seen him on YouTube - he looks good.
  22. Personally I think Pardew is playing a dangerous game. I think the stories are being fed to the press by him to put pressure on Cortese (by generating the upswell of fan sentiment that this thread represents). The question for me is why: - does he feel pressured by NC and is fighting to insure his position. - is he looking for additional investment / commitment - is he looking for a longer contract? - is he looking for an 'out' - to West Ham or similar - "I had to go because the chairman didn't support me" yada yada yada. I don't know, but it can't serve Cortese for the press to whip up fan anger. (FWIW, I'd like him to stay as I think changing the manager leads to squad reshaping that we can ill afford this season).
  23. I'd like to apologise for my halfwit brother's information which although right in spirit, ie. withdrawn because of a production issue, wrong in fact (ie. not down to how it was produced, but the content). When I spoke to him on Saturday he said as much but I'd hit the 3 post limit so I couldn't correct. So sorry for the curveball. Trust me though when I say that my uncle knows Messi and he's definitely signing
  24. Maybe they know my brother. He works in sales there and that's what he's heard. But who knows, maybe Chelsea have signed Lambert?!
  25. Should be clear that **** up was the wrong paper in the machine, not anything to do with the content.
