Earliest age to take a child to a football match?
Golden Balls replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
My first game was when I was 5. We played Everton (as I was an Everton fan for some reason, my dad didn't force Saints on me despite being a big fan) and drew 1-1. From then on I've been a Saints fan. The next year I had my first season ticket, I'm now onto my 18th. I'm actually glad we got relegated as all I knew was Premier League, now I'll appriciate it when we get back there. I would say 4-5 is a good age to take a kid to their first few games. -
What ever happened to that? They built that massive car pack for it and last I heard it should be up by now. According to the website, its due open 20011/12 http://www.millenniumhotels.com/corporate/globalPortfolio.html http://www.mdlmarinas.co.uk/mdl/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=53370

I have it. It is good, although I much prefer it when they use the Solent commentary, rather than that guy who is clearly recording himself after the game. You can tell in the tone of his voice that a chance will be missed as he has already seen it.

I heard about that but I think it was a cancer patient who was givent 6 months to live. He put a bet on at 100/1 that he would last over a year. He won.

HMV woes, Internet shopping and the future of retail
Golden Balls replied to pap's topic in The Lounge
Would be a shame if the Southampton one ends up being shut. Massive shop and I use it quite a bit. -
Isn't it about £30 a season anyway? I don't see how £18 for half a season is a 'sale'

Brilliant site

Had no idea he was an Exeter fan. He should just stick to doing radio in a studio

I love that we get no attention. Go about things as quietly as possible. When listening to Solent last night, they got loads of texts about how little attention Bournemouth get. Then again on the FL show, one of the first emails started 'you never talk about Bournemouth...' bless them

Seems like a t0sser. May do more harm than good. Notice he celebrated in front of the opposition fans yet again when he scored last night.

If I want to put on silly bets like, 'I bet my son will play for England in the next 20 years' or something like that. Where do I do it? Seems Ladbrokes & Coral aren't willing to come up with odds for things outside their radar.

If only Exeter could have hung on against Brighton, this would have been a brilliant day!

This is a big one. Win this and we will show we can win this league. Away wins to lower teams on a cold monday night is exactly the way to show it.

Russell Kane is the least funn 'comedian' on the planet. I also don't get Harry Hill I like most others though
-
He is an idiot, and just so embarrissing.

Great result. Could have been 8-0 if not more. The team seemed to take the foot off the gas after 75mins. Hopefully resting up for Monday. I have also never seen us so high in any league either. Sad really

I always seem to have a great time for NYE. Including house parties and nights in town, it's always good.

Saw James Beattie in the toilets at Odean before he was 'big'. I ignored the male unwritten rule of leaving at least one urinal space between eachother and went for a **** next to him. He looked at me, I said "alright?" he said "I will be" and walked off. Had a good laugh about it outside the toilets and seemed a nice guy. Met him again a few years later when he was scoring every week and he could not have been more up his own arse. Met David Prutton in JD. He was a quality bloke and chatted to me and my mate for a while. Even to the point that I had nothing left to say and he was trying to continue chatting. That got awkward.

Ah right, yeah been there. Yeah I just noticed the looks I get when I walk past an keep away. Dont they have a 24 hour licence? To be honest I hardly ever make it down that far. I'm still trying to hang on to my student days so don't get far out of North Hill.

Just off Mutley Plaine but offically I come under Lipson On the road. Area manager for Devon for my company Not heard of 'twigs'....Been to 'The wee clipper' on the Barbican, great selection of spirits. The Clipper on Union Street doesn't look the most inviting place though...

Well yes they are multinational companies, but they have large offices/HQ's in Southampton. When I said I thought it would be someone with a local connection, I still assumed it would be a larger company. Otherwise theres Mikes Chippy, Bitterne Hardware or Cloud Wine etc. Skandia have a massive office right in the heart of Soton and seem to get involved with the club as much as they can. Ikea have just built a flag ship store in the city centre that attacts 1000s from across the south every day Carnival have just built a massive head office right in the city centre P&O you mentioned Bacardi-Martini was based at the docks for decades and still have their head office in an SO post code. B&Q have their flagship HQ in Chandlers Ford HSBC have a big head office by the station but granted they have loads everywhere. Much like Barclays in Ocean Village Ordnance Survey have a big history with Southampton and still based here. DHL was pretty rubbish. They have an office at the docks but they have several offices in every city.

Exeter aren't a bad team. Not amazing individuals but a good hard working team. They have a lot of attributes that we will need to be aware of. We better win this one or I'm in for a ribbing when I go back home to Plymouth.
