  1. Odd isn't it. We've beaten them 5-1 3 times.
  2. Thought it was quite funny. They'll probably reply with something but then what could they really do? 4-1? FA cup? Wow. WTFILN. Shame is wasn't done when they were in terrible form
  3. Text into radio Solent after their game along the lines of... "We're a fantastic side now Alford has taken over. We could easily compete in the premier league" Delusion really is in their DNA down there.
  4. True. I won't be leaving the house this weekend. So embarrassed.
  5. the skates are in meltdown on twitter. I had nothing to do with it but know who organised it. It was offered for free as part payment on a bet.
  6. True. Although we used to attract a lot in our Championship days when we had a few Polish players.
  7. You've avoided Shirley then. I used to work in Fitness First on the high street. Bloody loved the Polish. Easiest sales, lots of mates who would join together and generally nice people.
  8. Well yes, defensive midfielders will score less than attacking midfielders like JRod and Lallana.
  9. Both well deserved nominations. Would expect a Liverpool player will win it though.
  10. Disagree with the op. I'm also into my second decade of a season ticket but the club have it spot on. I have had 2 friends who have asked if I could use my ST to get them a ticket to the united game. The answer is simply no. Even if I could, I wouldn't. Why should they get priority over those who actually have attended games?
  11. Yep I saw this article. Never once heard it sung in 20 years of being a STH. Even when we had 3-4 polish players in the first team.
  12. 12th for us between 1992-2013. Would be interesting to see where we'd sit between 1992-2009. Rarely finished in the top half of a table between those years. 2 relegations and a lot of close shaves.
  13. Only ever had one dog, a collie. Grew up with her from the age of 4 until my early teens. She got lung cancer and started to struggle. One particular bad day I stayed home from school to be with her (I couldn't believe my mum allowed that) and she was in clear pain. I told my mum when she got home from work that I think we should have her put to sleep. Her reaction - "I've been thinking it for a week but wouldn't do it until you said". She thought I'd hate her for killing my mate. We went to the vets that evening and I held her through the whole lot. As she drifted away she silently haemorrhaged and the vet told us she would have died that night had we not gone ahead. That made me feel a lot better. Still to this day, 13 years later I still miss her. She was family and like a best friend. As much as it hurt, I'm looking forward to having another dog.
  14. You'd have thought they'd have learnt from their mistakes this season and will mount some form of promotion push next season. But when have they ever learnt?
  15. Can't blame them for doing it if we all end up paying it. I just winder what the tipping point will be when we finally see only half full stadiums at the majority of PL games. It will happen.
  16. Bad news if this goes ahead. Not only in Southampton but anywhere. Will just produce racists. I'm sure some fame hungry people will accept being filmed.
  17. Been saying for years we should have gone for Kasper Schmeichel but I think we've left it too late now. Begovic would be my next choice but again, he'd cost a lot unless Stoke went down.
  18. 2 that I can think of. Steven Davis against Man City away last season. Was in Avondale and the place got trashed during the celebrations. James Beattie against Man Utd in the last minute in 2004ish. Was on holiday in Spain and watching it with a Manchester family in a bar. The game on afterwards was Man City V Arsenal so the place started to fill with their fans. When Beattie scored the place went nuts and I was the only Saints fan in there. Got a lot of free pints which was more than I could handle at 16. As a bonus, Rickie Lamberts goal against Scotland. Watched it in the Winston. There was beer on the ceilings.
  19. Same for me. Growing up in Southampton they didn't really register too much. I cheered when they lost but only cos I was supposed to. I have a mate who will tell you he is "die hard pompey". Yet openly admitted to his group of mates who are all Saints fans "nah I can't be arsed to go watch them anymore. It's just crap. I'll wait until we're at least a championship team before I bother going" And yes, he was at the cup final. At the derby games. Went to their European away games. Gave it the big one about the cup. All very quiet these days though.
  20. Just checked your post on their forum. Seems they didn't take to you either. Also noticed a few saying we're jealous and want to be just like them. Yes, they think we want to spend a generation in the lower leagues, followed by 7 years of top flight football (most of which in turmoil) then quickly get relegated a few times to the very foot of the football league pyramid which will take 2-3 generations to recover from if they're lucky. Yes...so envious we are. Deluded. P.s. It took all of about 2 replies before the "best fans" got trotted out. It's like a constant parody.
  21. True. Much better than bloody Reading. And even Brighton to an extent.
  22. What separates us and where the post codes meet I guess.
