Really enjoyed that Would have been out of sight if not for Gardos & Targett - no critique of them they showed huge promise and showed inexperience in equal measure, so the Cup run is great to get them up to speed. Forster looked like he had lead weights in his boots tonight. Felt we held our own in the toe to toe be nasty battle. Shane Long is simply the ONLY player you want chasing down a ball in the oppo half with 5 mins left, draws the foul every time. REALLY thought we needed to bring on Corkie earlier than we did. Our MotM - surely it has to be agent Crouch or the Ref. Crouch should have gone for trying to take Targetts's head off with his elbow but LUCKILY the Ref only got a yellow and then let's be honest his attempt at a Kung Fu Kick on Steve Davis was as bad as some of the stuff Jean Claude Van Damme has done of late. Stupid bouncing ball leads to clinical finish. Perfect way to kill of a nasty dirty and, frankly amazingly Ugly looking team. (That last insight was from the wife but actually it sums scfc up) Just plain ugly

And on top of that, let us continue to ignore Bompey down the road (which annoys the hell out of them). And then thanks to agent Artur, next season the fishy ones will look upward in apoplexy when El South Coast Classico gets played in the EPL between us and the Play off winning Bompey boys while they look forward to a bumper local derby with Eastleigh. Now THAT set of circumstances would be a way to celebrate 2500 pages of this thread

Hmm only decent feed I found is in Dutch. This REALLY has 0-0 written all over it

Interesting a week on. Only EIGHT That was EIGHT pages to go until we hit the magic 2000.

Oh God I find myself starting to agree with ART. Must be the meds for this bloody chest infection I've had for two weeks. Look, we are in the insane position of being 3rd in the PL. Look at the rest of the usual suspects. Man Ure couldn't defend against a schoolboy side at the moment and will need reinforcements in January. Arsenal seem to be contend with injuring each other or destroying team spirit by b@nging each other's WAGS. Everton are finding Lukaku to be the new Saganowski and are suffering Europa Cup issues. Liverpool? Again, with their defence as it is until January and Balotelli keeping their only fit PL quality striker out of the team. Spurs? Honestly? Do we all REALLY expect MP to finish above us and get Spurs into the CL? Don't you lot have your mortgages bet on him being fired by XMas? So, AT THE MOMENT, it seems we are battling with BFS & WBA & ManUre when they do a Keegan Team and outscore the competition. It is insane to imagine that Saints could get a sniff of a top 4 finish. But right at this moment, a lot of our Competitors are having meltdowns or slow starts. IF we keep doing our thing and keep the spirit and get JRod & JWP back before we pick up any more injuries, it may SEEM insane, but many of the other usual suspects seem to be wanting to GIVE us a CL spot this year. We would be stupid to not keep blasting away full guns in the League until reality starts to bite in late December/Jan, THEN we can worry about the FA Cup. and by then we may well have kept going in the League Cup. It is Insane, BUT there is a SMALL chance we COULD break through this year. ART is right. Don't be complacent, at least look at the possibility and ask Could a team with Johnson & Lovren in defence REALLY finish above us IF we keep playing as we are?

#onlygoodenoughtogetusto8thplace Good riddance to them and God bless the team that had recruited their replacements. And no doubt the replacements to those that we will lose in the summer. At least will be good to see Pelle Tadic & Morgan playing CL football next season. With us. As the Daily Mirror survey asked. Why not? -

First time for almost 6 years where I have had to work on a Saturday afternoon in the footie season. Guess I know what I will be doing from now on during matchdays. At least got back in time to see the 8th & the highlights on the stream. Happy Daze -
Great location face the park turn left to Francisszplanka gets you to the bottom of Rynek You are 200m from Wavel Castle - Note the castle is open every day for basic entry but to get into the actual rooms and Museums you need to buy a ticket - they are limited in numbers so you need to get them early or with a guide. We found it just nice to walk around and take pictures (The Krakow Dragon is down under the walls by the river side.) Just a statue. Walking past the front of the castle down Stradomska about 100 m gets you to Kazimerz. Head straight there you end up at Galeria Krakowska who do FANTASTIC Lemon Blackcurrant & Prosecco Mouse Cakes (Made our Wedding Cake) Walking that way you see a small market square with a flea market and they do like baguette pizzas in the middle for lunch. Also head for the main Synagogue Remu area there is a small square and some nice bars/coffee places. At night it IS safe but because it is dark & the stone buildings have not been renovated it does feel "creepy" so do this in the day time. Wilsna Street heading to Rynek has a lot of the small clubs on it at night. House of Beer is in the opposite far corner of Rynek behind the Cathedral. DO stand in the square near the Cathedral at the Top of every hour & listen to the Trumpeter! There is not a great deal "behind" your hotel when you only have a couple of days so stay heading towards the park and going left or right. Enjoy

Didn't I start a Series 4 thread? Oh meh whatever. Spose the Mods are out bombing weddings

Salt Mines is an absolute MUST. Auschwitz is something everyone should do once in their lives but allow a full day. For the factory & Kazimerz any of the Golf Buggy tours will cover that no need to book touts everywhere There is a company that does Communist tours the (can't remember the name Commie New Town is interesting as is being abused by a guide in a Trabant) There are a zillion pubs and bars but we love House of Beer and Borda (latter does a 2 course meal for about 3 quid) A longer day trip to Zacopane is stunning, but if you cannot make that then Morskie Oko Restaurant off Szeplanca street does traditional food and the cellar part is awesome but do book gets busy. Try the Polish Black pudding & Smalec - Hunters Lard like a Beef Dripping with Pork bits in it as a starter. Rynek Square is the heart of the City but the restaurants and bars one or two blocks out from it are half the price and double the quality. Staying in Kazimerz the area is older and darker & dingier than Rynek BUT there is a tiny bar every 30 metres and restaurants and street food places in the market are bloody fantastic. We love La Pistola Pizza house down that way. ANYTHING on the main drag from Florians Gate to Rynek is a rip off apart from McDonalds & KFC but there is a good old fashioned traditional restaurant about 100 m down on the right before the beer house (NOT the one I mentioned this one is awful) but the Scoff place is good When booking your hotel download the PDF of the Tramlines. Staying in Staroswilna for eg means you will not get a wink of sleep. From the airport take the train turn right from arrivals and walk 150m takes you to the Central Station next to that is Galleria the main shopping Mall. Taxi is about 20 quid. Polish Vodka is cheap as chips in the shops so book a suitcase for the way home. Our favourite is Krupnik. Also try the flavoured ones esp Old Krupnik & Zubrowka Biala and Wolysnka Gordonska - ah sod it an orange coloured Vodka in a bottle with an orange top. Zwyiec is the best beer with Tyskie a close second. On the walk from the Station to Rynek you will see vendors selling pies. Aapparently they are a delicacy. Any specific questions PM Eric & I will reply. Oh and don't be a normal twonk Brit. Polish girls are fantastic as long as you are not an idiot. The Lapdancing clubs can be fun but they will rip you off. Most Nightclubs are small and often in cellars. You can book a Pub Crawl - have seen some of them - #mess IF you are flying Ryanair take a fabric shopping bag you can then buy 4 bottles of Vodka at least at the airport (The airport is TINY, expect to queue for Passport & Outbound Security and sweat your butt off waiting at the gate, but for UK flights you can buy Smokes & Vodka cheap at the airport gate) There are limited places to buy ENGLISH cigarettes - everything is American - Winston Marlboro. One Tabak on the walk from Station to Florians Gate does English smokes & Golden Virgina next to the actual wall) It is a FANTASTIC City

When he next comes over to Dubai with one of his Horses could you ask him if he'd like to join the Dubai Saints group for a beer/watch a game/Dark Side tour? @Dubai Saints on Twitter Thanks Serious question. When he was still playing what was his favourite local Race Day Out? Newbury Salisbury or that place where you had to drive past the skates to get to?

Oh Christ. Just seen the Polski v Kraut score. There goes any chance of an early night in this household. they're already going bonkers on skype conf calls listening to the game

Why stop at the PL? Surely CL games would be a much bigger draw. Why stop there? It must be time for a global Franchise League? Abu Dhabi Blue Moons. Qatarlona. Real Bangkok. Tokyo Hotspurs.........
-
Don't understand the need for any debate. Pelle & Morgan will 100% be playing CL football next season. For us? Well, that's as likely as a Saints shirt being in the middle of the celebrations on the 18th green at Gleneagles just over a week ago... Oh bad analogy. That's as likely as the Skates getting auto promotion to The Championship for simply being the bestest.
-
Oooh oooh. Pelle is God. Everything Pelle says is true. Pelle makes Golf look almost as cool as when I am involved in it. Clearly he was inspired by the Official Saints Twitter feed of the Ryder Cup. Did I mention the Ryder Cup yet? Well........ Ouch that wasn't very nice Oldnick

And then facepalms the sensible geezer into his Pancakes. Totally horrific. Have to say if I ever see a Red Bra again I'll just run out the room screaming.

Phwow. Heavy. Just watched the double header season opener. Deep, dark, probing the depths of insanity? South Africa making a passable attempt at looking like Kabul & Islamabad. Sets off well in the post Brodie era..... except. How the FARK did they miniaturize Brodie and turn him into a baby Girl? Of and the Bathroom scene? One of the most disturbing moments of the whole series so far. Real hand to mouth stuff. Got to say it comes out of the blocks as a fizz bang and then turns into a slow burner. Doesn't seem to have lost anything and Claire Daines's edge of insanity acting seems to be spreading. Excellent start to the new season. A welcome return and on a usually dull Monday night as well.

The Official Unofficial Glastonbury 2015 Thread
dubai_phil replied to swannymere's topic in The Arts
One of our team got through entered all the details in the payment page and got kicked off. Absolutely gutted. Gonna have to find a blag way to get there. Hell, if I can blag my way onto the 18th Green into the melee with the players & the Champers celebrations at end of The Ryder Cup this one should be a piece of cake.... (and get my mug on TV & in most of the papers that weekend! ) (Actually have a mate from here who just moved in to Pilton so time to feed him lots of beer and try the resident/contractors route) Pretty small chance but probably larger than relying on the resale! He may not be able to help my two mates but he said in worst case he could be able to help me & Mrs D_P. His new gaffe is the VIP Helicopter landing pad for the event so he will have some clout. I hope. -

Bermuda. I've taken a lot of stick on here over the years about golf. But the fact is for 14 years now a couple of times a year I work with many Snappers Journos and TV people at the events and have got to know them well. Most of the guys cover Football or are of course supporters of other teams. They all know I'm a barking Saints fan. Over the years of our journey around the lower leagues their attitude was one of sympathy in fact they looked at me in the same way we would now look at a Skate. When we got promoted they all had that "make the most of it" yo-yo club" attitude Last year it was all "Flash in the pan" "Yes your academy is wonderful but you just had a lucky year" "Shaw is all very well and good but where are the others?". Last week everything was different. For the first time their attitude was one of "respect". This time they were talking about whether Tadic or Pelle would be the signing of the season. The talked of the fact we seemed to have more depth in the squad, we had kept the unity and team ethic. They talked of how they laugh when Utd Scousehampton & the Geordies need time to Gel and yet we gelled from the 3rd game of the season. There are a few grumpy Sods out there. Journos need their sources to get their stories further up the page and massage their own egos but also to help their career move. As one of the Telegraph writers said. "there IS a story now at Southampton, there is something deeper than just a flash in the pan. Quite a few of us have started to look more behind the scenes and we have found things that are interesting to investigate and to wrote about. "You guys" are now finally getting higher up the page than the stories of Luke Shaw going to Nandos after another Utd defeat" It has been a HUGE joke down here that I got mugged by the Chinese Golf Channel for an interview (about the Volunteers & behind the scenes stuff) - BUT they knew everything about us. The detail in their chat went as far as to say Chelsea were mad to let us sign Bertrand. They wanted to know how long JWP would be out injured and my favourite - why did you let Boruc go on loan? Has Gazza improved THAT much in one year? Certain grumpy sods (we all know who they are) will always be negative. But there is a change, people working at all levels in the media now have RESPECT for us. And quite a few of them would LOVE us to stick it to the Big Money boys. Because for them that will mean they can write proper stories abut how it was done, rather than articles about Hair Transplants, Fast Food or In door Firework displays. #onlygoodenoughtogetusto8thplace #somebodyhastokeeppressureonchelsea The Sky taters all said "Hope you can keep it going" Now, what is REALLY needed is for some partner to come in and give Aussiesaint the support and some sponsorship funds to turn his GlobalSFC information sharing service into a proper "Recruitment" operation. The basics have been put in place by the fans around the world under his brilliant energy & efforts. Now is the time for the club to help. So many from around the world attend Language schools, Colleges, Universities in our "catchment area" they return home and start the small clusters. Again, to become truly global somebody should be communicating with them to bring groups to "less popular matches". It is not Rocket Science. Now a small push to help promote our FB pages to wider audiences, easier systems for Foreign based fans to buy packages to get to the games or at least Match Day Tickets. And help and content from the Media Team that can be easily translated and LOCALISED into Chinese, Russian, Portugese, Spanish & other Asian languages so we can get more "Locals" on board -
Muppet Show Independence Referendum Poll

I already have pics with the Cup why do I need any more? This week was more about WAGS and Families. I landed in Scotland with about 18 followers on Twitter - mainly mates and finished the week with 150+ including loads of Golf Magazines. You want the stories and pics? They were all on there mate. Hell even official SFC retweeted a number of them ffs Why waste good stories in amongst the Tumbleweed of TSW -
[/img] [/img] OK you asked. 1) ALL the Press I spoke to Sun. Mail, Guardian, NY Times, Sky, BBC 5 Live had nothing but RESPECT for what we had done in the summer and our start. They were split s to whether Tadic or Pelle would be the buy of the Season. SAF thinks if we stay injury free until January and are equally adept we COULD keep the run going as the Psychology of football can achieve so much. 2) I was interviewed by Chinese TV and did a piece on the behind the scenes roles and a full run down on our new players. THEY knew all about us and thought Pelle and Toby were sensational signings. The Beeb Interview just focused on wtf the Shirt was doing at the Golf. (It was worn as a "vest" under my uniform on the final day and has been tweeted from the 15th Green where I was keeping my Snappers from killing the players with their stampede) [/img] All those were on Twitter and stuff. Gleneagles was different Nick. It needs a book not a forum. The BEST part of the week is that staying in Auchterader I was surrounded by Saints fans so we had a lot in common and they all agreed with my two "offical quotes" #onlygoodenoughtogetusto8thplace #somebodyhastokeeppresssureonChelsea I haven't renewed because the site died over the summer. We all saw it coming, we warned of it. It needs new blood now let them come. I'll miss many of those that have moved on but waiting 2 days before somebody converses with you is no good in this modern world. I drop by once a week or so now. Once we expand the Stadium and play in the CL next year perhaps it will all come back...............

True Dat. Think it was all covered by the Official Club Twitter Feed. I did have a chortle seeing our old friend Matt Slater gleefully retweeting that our illustrious web fingered cousins are now debt free. Hopefully the final few posters left in the wilderness that is now TSW will be the ones left on here to get this thread to the 100,00 post mark.
