  1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2245580/Jason-Puncheon-favour-Southampton.html Blimey TWO articles in the Snail in one day about Saints. Good one here about the row with NC....
  2. Luckily down here, we don't have the same exposure to the media and also, luckily, we don't need them to make our minds up for them. I have a lot of mates in or ex Radio and they, like me are appalled by the simple basic facts on this. One mate in Aus put this in context. It is as horrific a breach of etiquette and taste as hacking the Dowler's phone messages. I don't need the media to tell me that two idiots did something in bad taste and it backfired on them. Ah bless the little possums, they are all shook up. A lot of people I know would like to shake them up as well
  3. Ahem. This is about Churches and Gay Marriage, start your own Education Thread I thought Churches were all about The Bible or God. I must have missed the Sunday School lesson where they taught us about Adam and Steve.
  4. He probably supports the moron who threw the coin at Rio this afternoon. "Cos it was a larf innit"
  5. Should it be allowed in a "Holy Place" Discuss. (note this annoys me because a single practising Christian who (stupidly) fell in love with me is NOT allowed to marry me in a Church outside the UK. Equally, by marrying me she will be effectively ex-communicated and banned from being a Godmother to her niece). I happen to believe that a new legal definition of Gay Marriage should be created, allowing a Marriage in a Registry Office. HOWEVER until ANYONE can marry in ANY Church then this is PC land and lobby groups gone mad
  6. Hang about, don't we have a spare flag we could lend them?
  7. And they were boasting about it. The family now have to take her remains to India for the burial, no doubt at significant cost. A Business with a conscience would make a contribution to that along with an apology. Instead they issued a bland we done nuffink wrong Guv statement. Hope they go bust to be honest, shame for the employees and shareholders but as you say, the station is culpable as their lawyers allowed them to broadcast
  8. We don't play 4-4 fecking 2 Jeez. FFS tell someone to buy you The Secret Footballer for Xmas, if nothing else it will kill most of the Dinosaur opinions held by some on here. Re the OP. Everyone believes it is Jack Cork who has made the difference. BUT go back to Pre Season, who was our 1st choice LB? Shaw. A lot of weight to put on a kid but he has been the main difference, Fox would be player of the year at Reading (or any other Championship team) but in the play from the back world of the PL he is a dinosaur. The OTHER main difference now is that both wide midfielders are giving support to our FB's. Look back at the last 6 games and you no longer see 2 on 1 situations 5 or 6 times a game. IF you hold the Turkish view then Nige has taken control and changed that. IF you take the learning curve view then he clearly read this forum and sorted out his tactics after Ottery & others pointed it out a zillion times
  9. Sounds to me as if their fund raising efforts are flagging.
  10. More to come by the looks of it
  11. As Bearsy seems to be the forum expert on inflicted pain, perhaps we could get him to create a screamometer. Was it a baseball bat insertion level scream? We had chill out music playing in the background at the pub so we're totally in the dark in this debate. We just heard tish tish tish bump boom tish tish tish
  12. this thread is why I gave up playing the prediction league. Of course we will lose to Sunderland at home who will suddenly find their goalscoring touch and rattle 6 past the hapless KD Fulham Away will batter us and we'll pick up our first red cards of the season before a fluked overhead kick from Gazza rebounds off their crossbar to dribble into our open goal to give them a 2-0 win Stoke? Well of course Delap will throw to Crouch for a hat trick we'll battle back but Crouchie will hold the ball up in our corner flag for a full 10 minutes ta the end Aresnil? Well, Morgan will have joined them by the time we play so we'll get done 1-6 AGAIN as our entire team suffer stage fright Villa Away - you know us - New manager Syndrome. Adkins celebrates his 6 million a year pay increase by masterminding a win for his new team over Les Reed's strugglers. Yeah football is easy to predict
  13. Somebody needs to be sent to the humble pie thread
  14. Move bag. Sit down. If one turns up stare at them with a blank look and say Oh Really? Carry on eating and drinking. They start going off on one, say whatever, why don't you go ask security to come and I will explain about your unattended luggage. Stop being such a wimpey Brit. What they do is impolite so do it back to them. Trust me if you were a traveller of S E Asian extraction, you'd just sit ON their bag. Oh and why did you not come in last night so you could watch the game with us all!?! Anyway WTF you on about - you were in SA. NOBODY leaves anything laying around in an SA airport. Christ they can smell valuables in a bag from 100 metres away. Just tell the Germans - What bag? You did WHAT? in South Africa? No wonder the Greeks have conned you out of your pensions.....
  15. I guess that will depend on who we had lined up to replace him and at what price...... Suppose we'd be OK with swapping JP for Messi....
  16. My thanks to Getty Images sorry cannot download a perfect copy but they are Copyright protected http://www.gettyimages.ae/Search/Search.aspx?EventId=157749044&EditorialProduct=Sport Chapel End Charlie about to show his true love of SRL
  17. Dude that was WAY before I discovered the mighty game. Think they were actually hacked off by the 4-1 drubbing we handed out to them in the home leg - they thought they were nailed on certs to win the cup that year. Trouble kicked off within minutes of us getting into town from the airport and kept going all day long (Mind you, now you mention it, The Ladies Golf finished today - did you see me on telly? I did wave..... Jeez, even Bearsy wouldn't go near the lass who won it)
  18. Enjoyed that game in the pub. If we had been anyone other than Saints we'd have sat back and enjoyed the way we controlled the game. But of course we were paranoid. Rickie looked so composed playing in the hole, did what he had to so well. JRod looked much better up front and his moves and jinks show he will become a very good PL player. Kelvin - Looked (a bit Like Jose has of late) as if he finally realised he CAN play in the PL, seemed much more confident and exuded that. Shaw - What a talent, such good decision making in one so young. Perhapsit was him coming in to the team NOT Cork that has made the difference? Clyne - Link up play with Puncheon now so much better still a wobble loosing his man for a header towards the end Fonte - I honestly thought he would be our weak link this season, he is starting to look like a real PL defender Yoshida - Growing into the role, still got brushed aside a couple of times but looking better Lallana- FINALLY he is now hitting the ball/passing first time, not taking a second touch - so much more effective. But STILL needs to improve his shooting Cork - For a DM popped up around their box a great deal Morgan - He just goes about his job, you don't really notice what he does but he does a hell of a lot of "popping up in space" and "breaking up play" Ramirez - Wasted out wide in reality but some of the moments - second half he just took the pace off the ball, settled things down and off we went again And then there was Puncheon. Look I have been a huge critic of his this and other seasons. For me earlier this year his speed of thought and decision making in the oppo half had been slow and woeful. Today he was insanely good. IF he keeps improving he could go a long way. Guly - MORONS - you want to boo your own player well f\/ck offdown to nottarf krap. Rickie was never going to be moved up front to chase and harry defenders, he was knackered. Guly did everything asked of him, held the ball up, passed accurately and made a cracking opportunity that he should have buried. He also gave us height to defend set pieces in the last 10 minutes or so which Mayuka could never have given us. All in all really enjoyed the game. Damascus Refugee Saint joined us along with two newbies - the Dubai Massive grows faster than my beer gut.
  19. Marseilles Away = Rorkes Drift. Absolute nightmare with little old Blue Rinse Ladies wielding brollies & flagsticks standing side by side with "the lads" as the hoardes came at us in the main stand during the game and the CRT just watched. The Riot Police charge, the Tear Gas and FINALLY some help from the local cops. One of our bus stabbed, every window on our coach smashed and a gun pulled on our coach driver at a traffic signal on the way to the airport (which resembled a battle zone with fans on stretchers) No, Enough said, it was a horrific night, has been many threads on it over the years
  20. If I remember correctly we had a pretty useful player turn out for us that evening. Jimmy Greaves no less. And the whole "Shootout" one on one from the half way line. Think we won it though
