The current banking crisis explained by an Irishman Young Paddy bought a donkey from a farmer for £100. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day. The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news. The donkey's died.' Paddy replied, 'Well then just give me my money back.' The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I've already spent it.' Paddy said, 'OK, then, just bring me the dead donkey.' The farmer asked, 'What are you going to do with him?' Paddy said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.' The farmer said, 'You can't raffle a dead donkey!' Paddy said, 'Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead.' A month later, the farmer met up with Paddy and asked, ' What happened with that dead donkey?' Paddy said, 'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at £2 each and made a profit of £898' The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?' Paddy said, 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his £2 back.' Paddy now works for the Royal Bank of Scotland

That brought a smile and a memory flooding back.... To the heady days of S4E..... And the meetings with Wilde & Crouch as the gallant heroes tried to solve the problems all by themselves Sleep well Stl et al. Notice the poopey trust had the same result "learned nothing new" But I'm sure they felt all important

Puncheon is a good player and adds to the team. HOWEVER. He clearly cannot play (or get his around playing) at Left Midfield. SDR is not a left midfielder (still touch & go whether he is a RM either) but in the PL will be useful on the bench as an option when we can have 7 players there. Chaplow, Morgan & Hammond have all shown that they are not as effective at LM. We have seen that in many games a Diamond formation is useful as AN OPTION, but we have not been as effective when it has been our ONLY option. Holmes has had horrid injury problems. BUT there was an article about the team at Staplewood identifying the weakness and rebuilding his leg muscles "from scratch" Holmes is now getting regular games and (providing the Staplewood team are correct in their assessment) he will now be getting match fit for the first time in about 3 years. While he is NEVER going to be a replacement for AL, he DOES IF match fit give us an OPTION to keep a proper shape in midfield. I'd never play him on the right in the same way I'd never pick Puncheon to play (90 minutes) on the left. I think he could still provide important cover for us. I would (for eg) rather play Holmes tonight and give AL an extra few days to get over his groin strain IF he was back at the club. Hell, Falque or Holmes on the left to keep a proper shape? I do however believe it he will not be needed in the PL

The Gurgle of fat in the pipes..... But there was one sound better than a Merlin. Or a Mossie. Or a Lanc. That was a Merlin re-engined ME 109 doing a mock Dog Fight with a Merlin engined Spitfire over Old Sarum Airfield some 20+ years ago. Better because the engines weren't sync'ed as they would be on twin/4 engined planes and they changed RPM's at different moments as they did low level passes rolls and climb outs Never forgotten that summer evening Think there was also a 50th birthday of the Spitfire held at Middle Wallop airshow one year. Think they got about 8 or 9 Spits in the air at the same time for a fly past. Now THAT was a sound The Vulcan of course, Concorde (from inside oh yeah baby) and a B-52 taking off for sheer fillings falling out of teeth

Sorry, what was that? Buses? And where do those buses come from? Oh yes, a supplier. And does anyone think that a Bus Company is going to lay on enough buses to transport 862 people from nottarf krap to SMS to a Company in Administration WITHOUT payment up front as well?

And don't forget that West Sham also have HUGE debt problems. IF they DON'T go up, then next season they'll last about as long as Avram in an Industrial Estate in Horton Heath Now THAT would be Karma

You really can't have been reading this thread for very long can you? When have ANYONE connected to that end of the M27 believed ANY evidence offered up to them about ANYTHING? Evidence of Financial Mismanagement would have been a good place to start. 2 years ago. Might have saved them a few sleepless nights for a start

Ah those heady days when reaching Page 100 was seen as an achievement........ Some of the gems from pages 98 & 99..... No, honest these were over 1000 pages ago

Oh goodie Here you go peeps. Think this should get the PTS party started Just had it installed today (just in case we got some good news this week)

Jesus H Christ. OK There is a remedy, luckily I'm a highly trained medic 1) Book immediate flight to Dubai, take taxi driect from teh Airport to Rock Bottom Cafe. Failing that Take TWO Bullfrogs in pint (500ml for our expats) down them consecutively in one http://www.cocktail.uk.com/Cocktail-Recipe/Official-Bullfrog.htm?reviews=999 They will not make you feel better but you will forget why you needed them If this feeling persists 2) Book a Golf Lesson for next week 3) Order one pair of Incontinence pants, get a family member (or better still, Leather Clad Girlfriend) to tie you to the chair to get you through the next 3 weeks of PYSL (Note IF you select the Leather Clad GF option, you will probably not need to think about anything else for an hour or two)

Now that starts to make sense, hence the rush to get loaned out all of a sudden
-
Thanks for that buctootim

How the fook is KF gonna take that back as carry-on for the flight home.....
-
Not lucky in the slightest Dude, you missed probably THE greatest ever display by a Saints Keeper.

Think you are looking in the wrong place. Putting JP on the left at the start was the source of all our problems, he looked like a fish out of water. NA changed it after 20 mins to switch JP that left Cork & Morgan being swamped. Bringing Hammnd on helped to settle us but Cork was then out of position on the right, sometines left as he & Chappers tried to switch play around. End of the day we do NOT have cover at LM for AL. We got out of Jail today

Great post Frank. Also needed the Defib (but for future Mrs D_P) while down the pub. Luckily for her there were plenty of volunteers for CPR. For once I couldn't have given a flying banana's simply couldn't take my eyes off the telly
-
Oh and someone with the technology (& Sky+) needs to do a montage of all those saves on You Tube
-
Sensational No other words. Thanks KD
-
Wrong He got exposed a number of times - JP was AWOL in front of him. But compare those to the number of times he did manage to usher the winger into nowhere land or nicked the ball away or made himself available. We all thought in the pub he had a good game and actually commented on how much he has improved in the past months
-
I swear that save from Bechio has to be up there with Gordon Banks' save in the 1970 WC. There was simply NO way he could get back let alone make TWO saves in that situation. Then he pulled off a BETTER one
-
Great atmosphere in the pub over here ended up with about 8 Saints fans & 15 or so Leeds. Got mental towards the end the oohs and aaghhs from us with each KD save were as loud as the Leeds. As for the TV, it got better & better, the local Al Jism 'tater commented on it after about 80 mis that it was all Saints fans trying to rally the team. Thought the fans who went today did us proud in those last 10 -15 mins and had heard plenty of OWTS & Sloop John B derivatives before that, Really do NOT like Leeds fans but we all felt we had to go say how the feck did you not score 6 at the end.... That really didn't help their mood at all either

This He was a 10 out of 10 today. Kelvin was a 21 out of 10.
