  1. I still have a Seven of Nine poster.... Ah those were the nights...... Meanwhile, while in Blighty I (for once) raided HMV for whatever they had on special offer (instead of my usual Bangkok dodgy copies). Ecstatic to get Sherlock S2 for 15 quid in Salisbury & S1 for 6.69 at LHR Duty Free. But I also got Johnny English Reborn for a tenner. My review:- It is funny. Which is actually a huge improvement on JE 1 which was just cringeworthy. Rowan could actually have been said to have acted in some parts of it. We actually found it had some ROFL moments in it the chase of (& fight with) the Chinese Spy in Hong Kong for one. Still had cringe moments, but anything with Gillian Anderson & Rosamund Pike in it works for me. So yes, a Rowan Atkinson movie that actually has funny moments (ie almost old fashioned slap-stick) to make you laugh rather than cringeworthy moments to make you sn1gger Best moment - JE meeting the new PM and the highly - you knew it was coming - silly gas lift chair gag was a close second to the "Why of course Wing Commander" & subsequent "Care for a Tipple" moments when he comandeered the Gin Palace
  2. OK we got through to Season 1 finale tonight. The series still has "issues" of trying too hard to bring in human interest stuff when they should just be trying to survive. But, give them their due it does keep going well, has some good (if obvious) twists and turns and does manage some scary and even sinister moments (the harnessed kids in the Hospital for one). The build up to the season finale is again good if a little predicatable, but the last few moments go into NOOOOOOOOOOO don't leave us HERE mode. In answer to your question about the Mechs. You have to get to the last 2 episodes to start to see more of the picture - sorry - no spoilers here but in answer to your question - you learn a lot more but still no idea where & why and for what. The sinister part is you learn quite early on that the Skitters "LOVE" the children... They really have set it up very well for a second Season (which they have confirmed) they need to go away from little trips into the woods on motorbikes and start to see a bigger picture IMHO. Sarah Carter was a big improvement to the show (in a oh yes please way) But I agree with this last paragraph of a review I have to agree with that. I wanted Terra Nova to be as good as it could have been but it was destroyed by "the Kids". Falling Skies treats it differently, makes the characters stronger and eventually you actually start to care about them, and cleverly makes sure that unlike many series, some friends are lost along the way. Possibly as tense (and unusual) season finale final 5 minutes as I have seen TBH. It isn't the usual simple knife edge, it hangs everything you have learnt so far on it. Looking forward to the summer & S2
  3. Madness is more appropriate Yep all fits
  4. 5 hours to catch up FFS The annoying thing is that there are so many valid posts in the past 4 days that deem a reply or comment but by the time you get to read them they were 10 pages (and two days) ago. Anyways. Well done to the Northam on Saturday - absolutely classic Shalalalala la la la made the hair stand up at times. Thought Appleton on Solent on the way home was a disgrace. No humility whatsoever just give us more players. So we now have two potential legal issues rearing their heads. What great news that is. Nobody clean and with a commercial brain would have brought poopey these past years because of the tangled mess. Their only chance is clean and secure title on everything. With possible legal challenges in the air, nobody will be moving forwards with any bids, simply could not risk buying something to find the court over turning you or changing the debt/charges etc. The longer that stays open the bigger the damage to the limited cash that Birch has to spend. Also IF AA is successful & Birch has spent money then that could also open a can of worms. Oh and there is another REALLY positive upside to this now. Had a Business Meeting yesterday in UK, one of the guys I met with was a poopey fan. You know what? Having one of us "Offer our Sympathy" "Shame your Directors never did their own Due Dilligence (as they are empowered to do by Law) with any of your recent owners" Wow that hurts them FAR more than anything else we could do to abuse them. A lovely ROFL moment that was
  5. FFS I go to SMS to see us demolish Derby, get home & 17 new pages. Oh well that's tomorrow morning taken care of then
  6. Wow what a great day. 10 mins before takeoff got an upgrade to Biz class so slept all the way across and felt great when landed at Heathrow at 7:30. My rental car was upgraded from a Corsa to an Astra SRI at no extra charge, no traffic on the way down and early into Mike's chippy. Perfect build up. Then it bloody rained lads were busy having a chat and the disasters start - I'm getting wet & cold, BUT due to a tech mistake I get an OAP ticket. Totally destroyed my entire day when nobody questioned it. Gutted people think I look 65.... arrgh. The game - Morgan started the game like a train, he was everywhere breaking things up making space and moving the ball to set up our tempo. Was on course to be the best I ever seen him play until he got whacked from behind. But by then the temp was set and Adam came more and more into the game to give a MOM display. Sharp - the shimmies, the layoffs, the dummy's making space - all looked total quality Lambert- Quality holding the ball control, passing Chaplow - really off the pace in the first 30 needing one & a half touches, timing not quite there, but as the game went on he got better and better Cork - How did he not score 2 or 3 in the second breaking through solid work in MF Harding - did very little wrong, couple of times got feet tangled but made the space Fox - best game I have "seen" him play - he got roasted twice by the FB in 1st half when Derby came back into the game but his corners caused terror in the Derby Defence pace on them was superb JOs - couple of great cover tackles but he and Martin were in control as was Fonte. Lee - so much enthusiasm but backed up by a brain - he was not just about running & effort there was intelligence there. His goal - hell we were in ROw N Chapel Kinglsand corner - we ducked honestly thought it would come straight through the net. Brilliant day out loved it. AL my MoM
  7. Wow I got a reply from Matt Slater on Twitter woot!
  8. Which is why this is not finished yet. Entering Admin while under CVA having not paid anything on the previous CVA There is enough grounds in that alone for Discretion. Meanwhile at the airport plane is chocka ho hum
  9. Right. Final bits of packing, gotta hit the taxi call & shower before hitting the lounge & Duty Free. Anyone want any booze bringing? Ping me in next 15 mins, Tobaccco allowance all gone I'm afraid. Jeez I hope you lot have some decent songs to sing about all this tomorrow, none of the ******* poopey on a string (and a prayer) stuff either - need some really ROUSING stuff. Sha lala la lal lalala who's laughing now will do as a start
  10. Think I agree with this (sorry I was watching Falling Skies on Catch up so prob 4 pages behind) I think they have done the automatic, but just get the feeling they might do a Swindon and relegate them 2 divisions at the end of the season. the FL Management Committee may defer a decision and put it to the entire League members. Strangely, I also think that is their best chance of actually becoming a Community owned club. The very last thing they need right now is another dreamer. Trevor Birch will probably be able to use Google unlike AA
  11. Jesus H I had to pop out at 2:30, I get back at 5 and it took 30 minutes to catch up. Could this finally be a new dawn? A proper professional running poopey. Oh those skeletons are going to rattling cupboards over the weekend.
  12. 90 minutes. Is it on SaintsPlayer?
  13. OK so what was that Stunning revelation? That TSW has been ahead of the game all the way through this?
  14. Nursing a mahoosive hangover from the "Please sir can you drink your free bubbly faster" night out at the JB gig last night. This evening? Flying home to join the celebrations at SMS 2mro
  15. Ah The Spinnaker Tower. Another stolen idea they couldn't get to work. Jeez, it only took me & Eric a pint to get the original lit up in Red every time we win
  16. Jeez, James Blunt fans AND reading the same possibility into the situation....
  17. From where we sit on the outside, this seems totally logical. So if we then go back to the Facebook comments from the Jobsite Corporate Box of a couple of days ago where Lumpitt is alleged to have said they are dead :But they will keep on fighting", that makes the request for the UHY appointment appear to be their last minute Hail Mary Pass to buy some more time. You know what? The way this ridiculous story has twisted and turned you can really see poopey council & Penny standing in front of Microphones on Sky later on saying... No but we were trying to SAVE the club, it wasn't OUR fault that our actions were what caused the final death. Probably followed by The FL/Government must do something, we're going to apppeal, we're going to..... Amarillo
  18. NOOOOOOOOOOO It HAS to be a tear them a new one performance, with at least 50 passes leading up to each of the 10 goals that we score and 52 shots on target. (Simply so I can annoy Eric with tales of the game for the next couple of seasons )
  19. Pretty much the thoughts of my mates back in Salisbury. IMHO you (real) fans have only made one mistake in this whole affair. You should have started Plan B the first time around, you'd have been getting close to being one step back up the ladder by now, but then we'd have lost a small part of our moral high ground and hence Entertainment value. Also while some like you have seen the light recently, it's a shame that there did not appear to be many letters to the press or MP's in protest about being owned by a Child Maimer's stooge living on borrowed money (Standard Bank) even back then
  20. As we enter into the final days, following from GM's rather excellent post about the FL being misled, I'd just like to pose one final question. Didn't someone indicate that CSI only had a limited amount of funds to invest in the actual running of the football club? I think the comment "a fixed budget" was mentioned? IIRC I think it caused some feathers to be ruffled. Just asking like.
  21. Right. I'm just back from seeing James Blunt in concert. (Don't worry I have already booked into therapy, especially as I thought he was actually fantastic) The support band (Dubai Jazz Festival) was Acoustic Alchemy. They played sort of meh Spiro Gira stuff to guzzle free booze to.. BUT They have a song about Football. It is called the Beautiful Game. (Link here ) Which reminded me of why the skates SHOULD die tomorrow. They have Poisoned the Beautiful Game for these past 5 years. They deserve no place in it Meanwhile Now you're just some football club I used to know My fav song of the moment fits so well. You're just a Football Club I used to know Goodbye you cheats
  22. Hey don't start going off on tangents about meeting people on planes or ferries - stick it to footie matches. Otherwise I have to mention who I have met who plays sport at the GOLF again..... I SOOO know you don't want THAT to happen
  23. Falling Skies Couple of episodes in shows some promise. BUT What is it these days with US series? - is there some template that there MUST be family side plots? Terra Nova became rubbish real quick as a result of dumb kids and FS seems to suffer from the same story concept so far. I mean the Canvas is Broad enough as it is with a story line but why make it 60% the kids centric?
