  1. Karma is vastly over-rated. As I have enjoyed today, it is far better watching a pompous selfish idiot trying to be clever than it is to say "ah it's just fate" This thread Sooooooooo mirrors reality it is untrue. The difference between Karma and pompous idiots is always in their reactions when what they thought was reality but which all the world can see as stupidity blows up in their face and they stumble around asking WTF was that? When the world knows and says "Ah, my friend, that was the Bleedin' obvious"
  2. Anyone else old enough to remember Adam going out on loan to Bompey in April 2007? Their manager then was harping on about signing him............
  3. Oh ffs. Sod all point going down the pub to watch the game on Sunday now we know we'll be down to 9 men by half time
  4. Derry made the most astute comment on this thread - remember, for Asians, "Face" is all important. To lose it is to "die" publicly. Cover up is a Western concept/word but it the first thing they would do is to have tried to avoid showing any error on their part. The fact a lot is now unravelling around them and many more questions remain unanswered is not to be unexpected from that part of the world
  5. Meanwhile on the subject of the passengers, IF this was a Hijack for "flying bomb" type reasons then a pilot who can turn a switch to disable the comms should not have any great difficulty disabling the emergency oxygen supply and depressurising the cabin. Even IF he could not disable it, simply continuing to fly for a period of time until the emergency Oxygen ran out would have had the same effect.
  6. Starting to believe that David Moyes has now proven his credentials to take up a role at poopey having shown he is a out of his depth as their Board
  7. But that was around the time the Comms were turned off. If the crew were dead how did it then pass the Waypoints & change direction?
  8. ^this Keep Adebayor in check and dry up the supply to Townsend and catch them on the break.
  9. Watching Sturridge & Wellbeck this evening there is one thing that is starting to stand out about JRod vs those two, JRod has a brain, both intellectually and in a footballing sense. He does have a chance of going. Needs more goals between now & end of season to get ahead of Wellbeck. IMHO Rickie is on the plane barring injury and the only issue will be whether Adam starts in the WC or not
  10. One save late on from Adebayor after a dodgy 5 mins at the start of the 2nd half It's fair to say that they came to life after HT, but by then they could have been 2 or 3 down, the defensive mess from the FB's pushing up and Oxo breaking at speed made even the 'taters comment on how bad their set up was. Sure 2nd half they had passion and the 2 Arsenal CB's did a FAR better job than Fonte & Maya (probably) could do on Adebayor to keep them in the game, but you could sense the frustration. My point about falling apart was about their wins in how many games? stats - they are on a run almost as bad as us over Xmas. While they at least had a shape and some type of style and in the 2nd half Passion about them, they should have been buried before 30 mins were on the clock. Mind you, while not good, their set up shape and ideas made Manure look like a Pub team
  11. Spurs seem to be falling to pieces at the moment. Shame they didn't pick up some knocks or Red Cards. Without Adebayor they would be nothing although Townsend is improving. What fun it was watching the Man Ure game, shame Gerrard missed the "1st Penalty Hat-trick" but what a shambles Moyes has made of them. It won't happen but life would get very interesting last few matches IF we pick up a win on Sunday.
  12. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2581696/THE-FOOTBALL-GRAPEVINE-Chelsea-sell-Lukaku-replace-Costa-Falcao-Tottenham-replace-Sherwood-Van-Gaal-Manchester-clubs-fancy-Barca-star-Alves.html Lukaku may become available. Perhaps he doesn't get sent off enough for Jose?
  13. Phew, so no place for Cleverly, Wellbeck or Carrick then.
  14. The Commentary team on Saturday mentioned the Lambert v Carroll debate and the Cole v Shaw debate. For the LB slot it was a no brainer - Experience, especially IF Baines gets injured first game As was the Lambert/Carroll debate. Carroll is injury prone and will not be taken for that reason alone.
  15. Oh great so IF that is the case means a whole new raft of Airport Security being tightened up (again)
  16. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/malaysia/10700652/Malaysia-Airline-MH370-911-style-terror-allegations-resurface-in-case-of-lost-plane.html Uh oh.
  17. Thoughts. First part of the game we looked different. We moved the ball much more positively in their half than of late. Could have had 2 or 3 goals. IMHO that was down to Gaston being more positive than others. Norwich, like many other teams of late made huge efforts to press us and close us down. In many of our recent games we have not had a plan B to playing it around the back but yesterday in that first part Norwich were disconnected and that left gaps for Morgan et al to ping some cracking long balls out from the back (not hoofs but 30+ yard pin point passes. During this period JWP showed a lack of "match sharpness" - simply speed of thought wasn't at the same level as the rest and he got caught a few times or misplaced passes - not a skill thing more like not quite at the same timing. In previous games that press had disrupted us. The out ball in previous games has been from Boruc to the touchline towards AL or JRod where we also have the support of a FB or another MF. (As opposed to the hoof down the middle for a 2 on 1 vs SRL. That out ball totally did not work yesterday, whether because JRod was up front OR Boruc was feeling a knock. After about 20 mins (and a lot of shouting from the touchline we could hear on Telly, Norwich got a better shape closed the gap (maybe held a higher defensive line) and got Pilkington & Snodgrass to stop playing as extra full backs. We started to run out of ideas again. SRL then came on and Norwich showed Hughton's lack of quality coaching OR lack of intelligent footballers as they simply did not react to our change in shape and bang 2-0. His gamble of throwing on 3 attack minded players in one go then gave them fresh legs to press us again and we got sloppy. Last few minutes were like the old days - All hands to the pump with SRL & Guly at CB! Yes we shredded a poor Norwich side. Yes we should have scored a lot more goals. Yes Guly is a good squad player. Yes we should be adding quality in the summer from the Academy or new players. No JWP should NOT have gone for a red card to stop the goal - who the hell else do we have left to play in midfield with Big Vic & Cork out? BUT. The actual biggest concern for me is that we do now seem to be an easy team to "Negate". Our pressing was fantastic at the start of the season and disrupted many teams. Now others are doing it to us and we do NOT have a reliable set of alternate plans. We still try and play it from the back which is good, but we aren't YET Barcelona and we do play ourselves into problems. For me THAT is the key element MP et al must solve during the summer, a reliable alternative tactic when WE get pressed. Really enjoyed the game, wish it had been in the Pub but hey, that's next week
  18. Did you ever play much golf oops football Bearsy? He was walking across holding his hamstring. He was subbed because of a hamstring injury. Cork is out for 5 more weeks, Big Vic was out injured, Adam had gone off with lumps kicked out of him and you then pull a hamstring. You don't run those off you simply hope they ain't a tear. Only one thing you can do or it can get worse and you can be out for weeks. Guly came on as we'd run out of other Midfielders. I would expect to see Harry Reed get on the bench soon but with JWP AND Reed in the MF leaves us awful short on experience as well as just very short. Guly was denied by a cracking save by Ruddy but we still scored from the same move. He is a squad player until the rest of our U21 squad are ready to step in
  19. He just lost his balls He just lost his baallalls Poor Dejan Lovren, he just lost his balls....... What a crazy end to a gentle stroll in the park. Great for Sam Gallagher hope his Dad was watching from "upstairs".
  20. You mention Golf & DP and Morgan scores a beauty. Golf is the New Nuns
  21. The map they just showed live from KL helped make a bit more sense of this "Corridor" stuff. Clearly a "Ping" was received by a Satellite and that gave them a distance. The map then looked like a normal Radar Plot - ie Circles indicating distance from the Satellite that (I guess) could be determined by the strength of the signal. So what they now have are two arcs where the Ping & the fuel could position the plane some 6 hours after contact was lost. Interesting that the Northern line covers some of the area of China that is seeking independence and has seen some Terror activity of late. Also the Malay Police are now searching the home of one of the Pilots. Confusinger and Confusinger. (It's on Diego Garcia of course, rendition and all that)
  22. Most feasible idea so far Damn, I so liked the Stephen King Langoliers idea
  23. Hmmm Plenty more for SM & Pap to build conspiracy theories from now. Why Andaman Islands? Why a route used towards the ME or even Europe? Curiouser & curiouser
  24. Ignore Bearsy. I once suggested he watched The Golf Channel to see the follow through in Natalie Gulbis's chest after she swung a driver. He tuned in too late and saw an image of me in a Saints Sash shirt instead. Ericofarabia has been in therapy since it also happened to him back in January this year on Sky Sports so I can understand the Bear's bitterness. Oh and he was also hacked off that I got to watch S1 of Game of Thrones 6 hours before him so was able to see all the Bewbs first.
  25. RIP Tony Benn. Both he and Enoch Powell were great minds of their time. Both were conviction Politicians who always said what they believed to be the right things the wrong way and in never quite the right context. Each Villified and Divisive, (rightly so) even by those purporting to hold similar views and we all know that they came across as Arrogant and Self Interested. Each made crushing mistakes of Judgement/timing or wording in their speeches/interviews that caused great harm to their Parties and in the long run to the Nation. However as Intellectuals, Idealists and Thinkers, they put to shame the Modern Political Class of Spin Muppets. I hated Tony Benn with a passion, as I did Powell. But I admire them both over anything I see on offer on Sky News or BBC World News today
