  1. Police Statement made
  2. Dear Lord Hope you get through this Dan. Thoughts with you family friends and the team
  3. There's one point the OP has missed. Alp's was RIGHT last season, and he pinged it during the actual pre-season. OK things turned around, and in fact I found myself on one trip back home before Xmas last year defending Adkins down the pub with some prominent posters, I had seen what he was trying to achieve and that things had turned around. I noted that they have acknowledged their points and are cheering us on like everyone else. But on negativity, it is a very valid point. Again many "fans/mates I talk to when back home have stopped even lurking on here because of the pessimistic veiw of the world that some continue to express. It ISN'T about being Happy Clappy or Negative, it's about the WAY those opinions are expressed on both sides, often without any regard for reality or even a basic reading of what NA or NC has said. A couple of obvious skates appeared after the window trolling suicidal posts about not signing 26 new players. The perpetual moaners hid serious posts and attempts to debate by more balanced posters about WHY we had failed to sign the required CB & CF. Their opinion that NC was "at fault" was shouted every time anyone tried to discuss whether J Rod was actually worth 2/3rds of Peter Crouch or double Robbie Keane. The point is the constant drip of negativity and shouted opnion covers up when those posters (like Alp's last year) actually HAD a valid point. CS is right, it is a disease and it does stifle debate. Disagree with Hypo on something and he posts 3,000 times on one thread explaining his position so nobody gets to read any sensible posts in the midst of so much. What we actually need is not Happy Clappers or doomsayers. We need realists.
  4. Call me old fashioned, but doesn't this stink? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8736496/Libya-the-minister-the-Tory-donor-and-a-contract-to-supply-oil.html
  5. And some wonder why Saints don't have a Solent fans forum any longer
  6. Well it's all Mitchell's fault. He's skint and selling anything not nailed down. But he turned CSI Group away at the start of LAST season because they weren't real investors so he kept the moral high ground for his club unlikely the other south coast club to the east Back to L2 for them IF they make it through the season
  7. I like this thread. People are entitled to their opinions and we are entitled to disagree with them. But noticable that most getting the stick are those who are let's say (for politeness) more forceful in disbelieving anyone else's opinion. Guys the way you act in a Dad's Army "We're all doomed" manner every other day of the week. I bet you know for a fact that you have a 1 in 576,000 chance of being struck by Lightning and so you don't leave home just in case.
  8. Sue you are not allowed to have any opinion if it differs from.......
  9. hehehe Do I detect signs of a bicth slap for Warnock here? lol
  10. Oh goodie. So now we know what the Russkies have spent in the window, we know how much they have left in their budget to fund the Operating costs Did anyone bother to google how much they spent on their F1 sponsorship last season? You know their "disposable income for investment into sport? I'd have thought that at least Corpy would have looked it up. Oh well, never mind, I gave you the chance to find independent confirmation. So, now let's work out how far the remaining 3.8mil of their budget will go this season covering all those wages.
  11. Jeez Again so many muppets have no understanding of Sports Psychology and why we are ebing successful at the moment. Beattie is poison. He is a self centered egotistical has been. The only club in this region that type of player is now welcome is at poopey. Have none of those advocating "bringing him in" listened to a word that NA or any of the players have said in the past 12 months. Want to sign a Celtic reject but want to hang themselves because we bought a Celtic player with CL Experience. Christ. I'd rather have Puncheon back.
  12. I think that NA & NC will also be disappointed. But the positive point for me is that we didn't get suckered into destroying the team morale and stupid money going out the door. Somewhat proves the point. It's all very well wanting to buy something at a shop, but if it's not in stock or it's at a stupid price, you wait a month for a sale or look around online for a better deal. I have no doubt that we will still be looking. If we have to make do with a loan then so be it. Again we may find someone overseas like Papa Waigo but with consistency that we can get on loan with an option to buy. The reports of Jos playing in Scandinavia show he has something and then add that he only played a handful of games for Celtic & had injuries show that we could have found what we needed at the back. The only game e have lost so far was because of a slip by Fonte lnocking us out of our stride early on, yet everyone panics over Seaborne.
  13. Telegraph reporting today that the fee for Beckford with add-ons is 13million. That is insane
  14. Perspective - proven quality. Maynard for 5mil or Robbie Keane for 3.6mil. We don't have a game for 10 days, still plenty of time to bring in sensibly priced quality for Forest, and still have Barnard & Jaidi to return from Ankle & Knee Injuries respectively
  15. I have no doubt at all that we ARE going for it this season. I also believe that the club are doing it the right way, by ensuring that we have a TEAM to support. The players have a freedom of expression that many other teams do not have because they all know each others game. TEAMS can achieve a hell of a lot more than a bunch of names, look at the "shock" winners of the Euros like Greece Denmark for example. One over inflated player can damage that cameraderie. I for one am glad that we haven't hurt ourselves in this window by bringing in a "name" to satisfy some "fans". I have no doubt that now the panic buying season is over, the club will still be looking to find the right type of players at the right price. The squad has had our best EVER start to a season and we still have two key players to return from injury., and 3 months or so to bring in loan players. (And loans CAN become permanent - Chaplow for example) Some people's lives must be so damned miserable, spending all their time worrying about tomorrow and missing the fact that we are having our best time in decades. We will be pushing for promotion, we will have ups and downs and injuries but this is a damned good team. It CAN get better, and we're already second.
  16. Well if you don't think we have any ambition then fook off and support Crawley Town or Man Citeh.
  17. Trust me, that is a VERY bad idea. It always ends in a mess
  18. Good transfer window. We sold some players who did not want to be here and brought in some quality to the squad. PMSL at the muppets crying into their milk because the CB we managed to sign is not a superstar on a fans forum. There is still another month or more of loan window. We can still sign some more on a loan with an option to buy in January. We now have 5 CB's that will get us through tyhe next few weeks And sorry, I simply cannot see how Nicky Maynard can be worth the same money as Scott Parker
  19. We don't bloody want him. There's only room for ONE washed up Brit ex pat with a bad knee over here. He has to find another role to fill. Let him sod off to Oman, they let anyone in these days
  20. Strange move by Citeh. After all so many didn't think he was good enough for us to have a punt on. But I did like this comment.. Hargreaves Joins Man City on a 4 year pay as you play deal valued at 0 pounds
  21. Simon Cowell's face during the Susan Boyle oment was a never to be forgotten moment. This one landed in the inbox from a Greek TV Version. The chick's face! [video=youtube;16QgTZ3-OZc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16QgTZ3-OZc&feature=player_embedded You have to put up with a few seconds of the usual inane pre-performance banter (in Greek) and then......
  22. Rickie one on one uses his pace to beat the defender and bury it
  23. It's OK I used a hammer working now but the volume is a mare
  24. Can't believe it fecking Saints Player has totally died on me arrgghh
