That is really very unfair. There is no way that said person is a bit of an idiot. Complete idiot maybe, but a bit? No way - that's outrageous.

Really liked Ormerod, we played far better with him than without. I bet though that he is still pinching himself that he is back playing in the PL (and doing well) Move on Soggy. If Only are the two most soul destroying words in the English Language when used together. Forwards, Onwards and Upwards

That isn't VERY hard is it Pilchards - just make sure someone tells him not to take Bacon Sarnies into Staplewood

So, would it be fair to say that you are whelmed? (Should have copywritten that damn) I think that the key element that may actually come out of this will be the level of Intelligence that he clearly has, along with the range of training that he has gone through. The man who believes he knows everything is a fool. I think as we (FFS hopefully) climb up the Leagues we have a man at the helm who actually DOESN'T know it, and understands that. Which means that he will look listen and learn.... And, in Alpine speak, he MAY just notice that playing the same way on a cabbage patch pitch in wind and rain as he does at SMS won't work. I like this, I'm happily whelmed AND I think the Mods should move this eventually to Golden Threads. From what I have seen and read he looks to have the attributes to go all the way. Hopefully Our Physio will flatten Mourinho when we get to the CL. (Like that one TDD)

Oh come on, I spent about 3 days trying to find some manager somewhere in the World with the name or initials this. At least you did better than Frank's Cousin, who as always managed to post 3 pages (it seemed like) without actually giving us ANY suggestion

Sauce? Clearly the lines of communication got scrambled

Like I said, this is a remembrance thread for 9/11. What happened subsequently will one day be proved to be the biggest disaster since World War II. It was all done for Greed of US Industry and a desire for revenge "because Saddam embarrassed W's Dad. Anybody with an ounce of intelligence and experience in this part of the world saw it for what it was, and what would happen. In simple terms, Iraq was the buffer to Iranian expansion of influence in this region. The real outcome is not just the lives wasted so far but it will be the lives lost once they get their Nuclear Weapons. Afghanistan is a completely different issue and only idiots get them confused. But of course that will also end badly as it has for every "invader" since the days of the North West Frontier. 9/11 was an event that needs remembering. It was perpetrated by a sane man with logic and reasoning that the West still criminally is incapble of understanding. The aftermath was perprated by an insane man and his puppet for the benefit of their "best buddy" **** at Haliburton. Actually that's unfair W didn't have enough brain cells to be classed as insane

Could not have put it better

Think you may find that is per "consultant" on contract. It also will not include any expenses for travel, entertainment, meal allowances etc. A law firm charging out at 500 a day would soon be out of business IMHO

Good. Welcome Nigel. Now enough of the congratulatory rubbish, get down to Staplewood and KICK SOME FECKING A#S

It had a massive impact in my life. The event itself was traumatic, but if you'd bothered to read the thread before poluting it you would have noticed that it caused huge stress and concerns to many down here. I lost somebody I knew in heartbreaking circumstances. On top of that I spent almost a week with little sleep trying to stop panicking Amercina Lawyers ruining the life of my family by evacuating us and ruining my kids IB courses, destroying the family businesses of two of my staff and possibly bankrupting half of my customers that I had worked with for 8 years. I held conference calls with the Irish Government who offered us "sanctuary" and had help from the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi to stop the knee jerk reactions. No it did not affect me at all. And of course neither did the invasion, nor the car bomb that killed 4 people returning by car from my training them in Damascus, or the car bomb that blew up the office of one of my closest friends in the region which killed his secretary. No, no didn't affect me at all, and as I have tried to tell you all a million times, it will eventually affect me when a friend is killed in a Mall/bus/train bombing in the UK

Which part of Do you not understand Prof? Surely if Saints have a legal issue that makes it not possible for them to elaborate then it is up to AP to break the silence, or for the club to potentially ruin his career and be forced into paying out possibly years of lost earnings to the detriment of investing in the team. The OS did SAY non-footballing reasons. Many just decided to ignore that. If people think it is really really important then perhaps they could initiate a court case to force a disclosure?

To be honest, anyone who reads the media or this site with an open mind would have worked out that NC was either a complete fool or something had happened to make him act the way he did with AP. But then, most of the open minds left ages ago so just a few of us left who aren't surprised. I liked the detail anout the freebies and hangers on, Flybe got more tickets that the value of the sponsorship and the rest. No wonder so many moan or leak negativity about the club or NC. We shall see what happens in the next day or so on the manager front. Maybe I'll rant and call him an idiot, maybe I won't, but the fact is he met with fans (heck even technically uberfans) and told it from the heart. Still think he's a c*ck though - why hasn't he invited us expats back for dinner? What a night that would be TT, Alps, Window Cleaner, Ohio, EoA, Suewhistle & some of our down-under heroes fighting off the jet lag from a day trip..... Heck, even Viking Warrior from his tiny rock could get down in a rowing boat for that one! and we could get some of the Swedes down, we'd have fun lol'ing about some of the Turnips on here

So why do you screw up a memorial thread asking for memories and where you were. Stick your opinions up your a** this thread is about MEMORIES. Start your own and ask the question it obviously means So much to you Oh but that wouldn't be well 'ard would it. And no, some innernet 'ard man in the comfort of some dodgy bedsit in the Uk is totally NOt qualified to comment on what that moron Bush subsequently did to the world. But anyone who doesn't see the link between the two is a total ............ Now sod off and ruin another thread

We all know something about Football Alps. It's just communication skills that let us all down
-
Let us hope then that by the end of this week we are better off Manager wise than last season. Not knocking AP, just praying that who we get in does BETTER than AP rather than worse.

Best Squad/first 11? Yes, undoubtedly. Best TEAM? Not by a very long shot. Technically, the team is short of pace (you cannot rely on a 16 year old kid performing 110% EVERY week) and with only one "flyer" it is easy for teams to negate him. Yes it has creativity in the missing Lallana and to an extent the potential of Puncheon (if only his decision making was better) BUT, it is not a TEAM, it is 11 technically able footballers. TEAMs are created by a good manager, but they also rely on a bond between the players. For a simplistic example rewatch England in the (actually ANY) World Cup and compare to Germany. It is not TOTALLY a manger thing, the manager establishes the environment for the team and allows not such good players to be better than the sum of their parts. (Example - see Bournemouth last season and the start of this) Could the TEAM have been unsettled by something? Or is it simply the Manager (lack of) not getting them to that level? Is it something simple such as Guly being brought in instead of an Antonio/Papa clone? Or is it something different? Is it something simple where a new player earns more than an establisehed player causing resentment? Those who say they are professionals and it should not bother them have never understood the psychology of Team building, again as an example look at the Terry / Bridge incident. Both professionals, both should have seen the need for the greater good, Bridge walked out on the Team. The Manager plays a critical role in fostering, nurturing, mentoring and coaching, but the TEAM spirit, the togetherness, the almost psychic understanding between players comes from within. A good manager knows how to do that. But if something happens to knock that spirit it is VERY difficult to get it back without changes to the players, management or environment...

Alpine was right, I (we) were wrong. I will criticise him though, it was a little bit of the Boy who Cried Wolf syndrome. We won't know for some time how badly the Richardson injury hurt the plans he had for the season. But the Burley syndrome is an interesting analogy simply for the way the team seems to have gone off the boil and the way we accumulated full backs in the transfer window (as oppposed to CM's under Burley). Good luck to whoever comes in, the job looks harder then we thought

Radio Solent Not "A source close to the club" but specifically from Cortese who found the Solent reporter and spoke to him. Was made about 5 or 10 mins before kick off" NC spoke to Adam Templeton before the game at Swindon and made it very clear with the words Les Reed Has Never Is Never nor will be involved in First Team decisions, he is emplyed to run Staplewood and the football development. It was quoted as a direct quote. I can only assume that the issue has caused annoyance at the club and has been made public. May well be added to any up coming statement as it is clearly an issue causing some harm (probably to the process of finding a new manager IMHO)
-
Hope the holiday is good Pilchards, we've needed your tree climbing expertise these past weeks. It's quite simple really, we interviewed a number of people. Each time we interviewed one, their wife, agent, cousin, lover, chairman decided that they were obviously getting the job and went off to get their names in the press. Most of those comments were shown to be not quite exactly word for word how events had unfolded, but that did not stop the opening of old closets and garages and dusting off the pitchforks and torches that last saw the light of day with Rupes. Either that or we just watched the single most incompetent recruitment process in the history of football. Basically, nobody believes a word our club has said in the past 12 days or so.
-
NC obviously takes note though . The statement in the week about the ST installment plan and the Statement today about Les Reed's role. Now surely, you don't think that was ONLY aimed at the few fans listening to the pre-match build up on Solent? We are NOT the font of (any) knowledge, we do not influence matters a great deal, however anyone considering taking a job at a senior level in any company will either ask his secretary/agent or fingers to do some googling. This forum took it as read that NC withdrew the ST plan to annoy fans. That opinion was held by many fans who have never heard of a forum, we were wrong
-
Yeah but I only posted it now because I'm angry. I think NC's reaction today by telling Solent about Reed is because I think any "Manager with Intelligence' would get his agent to research the club he is about to join. That research would then take in fans forums (in the same way we checked Scunny) When you then have people with "strange" motivations repeatedly stating conjecture about the structure et al as fact then that can cause prospective managers to be wary. How many times did we say MON wouldn't work for Les Reed. For all we know he may have believed that bollix and turned us down even IF it was not actually true
-
Les Reed - has and will have NOTHING to do with the first team
dubai_phil replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Well to understand that you have to believe something you have heard. No point posting it because it is not attributable and then I'd only get sh1t from those who's agenda it doesn't fit. Allegedly a warning was issued about something sometime, something re-occurred, only one 1st Team Coach appeared to know nothing about it. Anyway, nobody believes or cares. I believe we are in a hell of a lot more trouble than it appears. It isn't simply down to one man and it may not be something that we can afford at the moment to put right. Something is wrong, it isn't a fecking Committee that is for sure.
