  1. Actually that's very good. D_P likes
  2. No c'mon Dan, honestly you're winding me up aren't you. He's no footballer, he's the Water Boy isn't he
  3. Let's face it, things ain't ever been the same since we stopped having to sing Swing Lowe....
  4. Shouldn't you guys be running around Bournemouth with collecting tins trying to raise funds for your Youth Team to be able to afford Goalposts instead of having to trainer tops? How's the rent payments going? Be nice to us, you may need to ground share before too long Oh ok look I'm sorry, didn't mean to worry you but I think you guys have more to worry about than whether you lose Howe to us or someone in a couple of weeks. I'm sure Mitchell will do a great deal for you on compensation like he did with Pittman, getting paid in weekly installments over 5 years or similar
  5. Of course not - they are all "strong supporters" of the local clubs, wouldn't dare speculate on gossip, rumour or slander. Unless it's us
  6. Well, if what we being led to believe is true regarding fitness levels, and if we are to take the previous performances into account, may I suggest most strongly that some or our travelling hordes take a set of ankle chains to stop him running straight out of the stadium and back home to Humberside screaming?
  7. Such as? What questions would you have asked seeing as you know so much more about the Dark Side?
  8. If THAT is the case then a great deal can be implied. It certainly puts the events of the past weeks in context and also (again) makes the few with "aggressively anti-anything agendas" in their place.
  9. Posted elsewhere but http://www.tribalfootball.com/portsmouth-admit-breaking-wage-cap-stoke-duo-1106451
  10. Crashing their very expensive cars? Being caught talking on the mobile while driving and appearing in adverts?
  11. Adkins will leave us in July/Aug 2012. He will be appointed as manager at Spurs to replace Twitchy who will become the new England manager after England again fail to impress at the Euro championships. NC will be unable to appoint a relacement for 4 weeks as his office will be buried under applications to replace him, A role that will eventually be taken by Jose Mourinho in a vain attempt to take over the England role when we fail to impress at the World Cup in 2014
  12. Which.... Makes you wonder. AP not working with the backroom staff. Players are not fit. We have fitness coaches. Hmmmmmmm Well, looks like we shouldn't expect much for a week or two until the double sessions start to make an impact, poor fitness, slow mind, poor decision making on the pitch, soul-less lifeless performances. No wodner we haven't seen harding booming up the wing this season - he's fecked by Half time
  13. FFS... Our players were unfit under Burley, they were a disorganised rabble under JP and we bring in a supposedly top class name manager and... The players aren't fit. FFS it cannot be Rocket Science, what on earth did all those people (inc AP) DO all day? Sounds like a good start
  14. Was listening to innernet radio and a couple of songs came up that reminded me of one of the great things about this weird country is how the chance to see unexpected or simply unique gigs. Example, went out to a bar 2 years ago, about 150 people in there and Howard Jones came on and played for 90 minutes in a totally unplugged set. We had no idea something was on, and they introduce him and we look and see a piano and a guitar and Howard & his mate found stuff to fill the time stunningly. The place just stopped in its tracks and (to our shame) we knew all the words and sang along. Electropop unplugged.... A mate was a promoter, he had a venue cancel a gig for Hugh Cornwell so he got him to play a set in his back garden in a villa with about 20 of us taking beer along and talking with the band while Hugh played a full Stranglers set on Acoustic Guitar. We sang a lot. Which took me back to my days at Poly (yep that old) we had 3 mystery band gigs, After The Fire, who were ok, Joe Jackson oh yes, and co-incidentally the 3rd one turned out to be - The Stranglers. Made me wonder, so many Glasto fans and so many of you lucky to have real bands playing in pubs, what was the most unexpected you have seen? (I missed Tom Jones playing in a tent for 70 people by about 10 minutes 2 years ago) Anyone else had a magical surprise musical moment?

    Air Miles

We have a local Franchise, Air Miles Middle East. I have 327,462 miles on it. I called them last week and asked what I could buy for this. Not much they replied, about the only thing you can get for that is Portsmouth Football Club, but you would have enough left over for 3 round the world trips.
  16. I lol'd when it was shown on telly. They came up with a new one this week which involved giving birth on the pitch. No doubt will be on You-Tube as well soon. Iceland, not where you would expect to find a sense of humour
  17. RIP Darren. We followed and felt for you from afar, all the best
  18. Adkins needs to ensure that we score a GOAL Then we can do a proper Goal Celebration Was just on our Sports show here - classic from Iceland
  19. Al Qaeda's primary source of support during the years building up to the events of 9/11 was Saudi Arabia It was not ever Iraq. The UK has Al Qaeda operatuves and sympathisers - do the US invade on that pretext? No. Would they have considered invading Saudi? No. Why? Because of Money. The Bin Laden family is massively wealthy and influential and gravely ashamed of it's lost son. Yet the UK allowed AQ symapthisers deported from Saudi to set up shop in the UK at the taxpayers expense. Oh and of course at the time of 9/11 we all know the US closed all it's airspace, save for the flights that got the Bin Laden family (such good customers of Haliburton) out of the US. Afghanistan is a classic example of the mess the Cold War made of this planet and the way that it let the nutters into the void. Who trained the Taliban, supplied them weapons and money? Yep the US. History will show that in fact many lives would have been saved and the world made far safer IF the Yanks had gone in and helped the Russkies (yeah as if) Iraq was revenge and MONEY. The real home of AQ will never be touched. Too many dollars at stake (See Charlie Wilson's War
  20. I agree, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink should have been appointed as player manager. He has a big name
  21. Lol I shouldn't, but anyone else spot N.I. in there trying to scupper the deal before it even began OK I know there was some stick for him on here and some defending him, but FFS see what happens when the media gets hold of a quote and twists it!
  22. Anyone who faills to understand that 9/11 gave Bush the moral outrage that he needed to invade Iraq is totally deluded. They are inextricably linked Anyone who fails to understand that Iraq had NOTHING to do with Al Qaeda or WMD's is totally deluded or is Bush or Blair Anyone who thinks that Afghanistan and Iraq are the same conflict about the same thing is totally deluded. Afghanistan is the single most important issue for the security of you "Westerners". Unfortunately, because of 9/11 and Iraq it has been blighted by a total lack of direction or strategy, and the Regime that is now being supported in the name of YOUR Democratic ideals is insanely corrupt. Because the Afghan mission has failed (lack of foresight and planning on what to do to win Hearts and Minds - ie improving the life of Afghans) the nett result is that you have managed to simply spread the poison to Yemen, Somalia and North West Pakistan. The "War on Terror" is the biggest single disaster of the modern era. It has simply created thousands of new "soldiers" for the extremist cause. Extremist Islam needs to be destroyed. It needs the help of all Muslim Nations to do that. It does not need Sound bites and opinion Polls from the West determining strategy, AND it needs the UK to stop giving Asylum and Social Security to Extremist Imams who are expelled from yemen, Saudi etc for being TOO extreme.

  24. Sorry mate obviously too subtle.... I hope he comes in sees his first training session and says WTF do you think you are doing? I then hope that "nobody" stands alongside him and says "That Nigel is how we (and you) do things here" The SIGNS of change will show that me that many of the conspiracy fears about interference are less strong than some believe. The next thing I will look for are Loan Signings. He got Cork & the Liverpool lad in at Scunny, something like that level of talent in the next 7 days will show he has vision. We NEVER get NMS, and I saw a pile of sh*t against Rochdale - I want to see that changing and damned fast. He does that and gets results great. Guys - we need to get out of fecking League ONE, let's worry about doing that. I am pretty sure Adkins is smart enough to learn as he goes for the CCC next season and beyond, but NOW - we have signed the best employee for the League that we are IN.. (Remember those PL quality footballers when we were dropping through the CCC? How have our CCC quality players done this season?) Get out this fecking League Nigel - that is all you need to worry about until April/May
  25. While critically important in the context of aiming for automatic promotion this season, the MOST important wish I have for our next two games is that Adkins watches, analyses, learns and then sorts the team out FAST. I have no doubt whatsoever that the "Squad" will look fantastic, professional and organised on the training ground, and I hope again that Adkins sees something there and shakes it up. The point is, we the fans weren't happy with the start of the season. I have no expectations of amy Magic Wand or New Manager Syndrome in a week, but for somebody to stand there from outside, look at what we have been doing, say WTF, change it, & work on the change. So I hope for a kick up the Buttt in the Mental attitude of the squad by the weekend and some tweaks in tactics/style that show we are changing and that the existing coaching staff aren't standing there saying "No, this is The Southampton Way"................
