The money received by the EPL for the overseas rights has trebled in the last 3 auctions. So you are saying that someone in Thailand, India, Africa, Egypt should pay the same as someone in the UK to watch? Perhaps the UK could have a Sky Coverage Benefits system to make it all more equitable? My Entertainment package (Sky equivalent) is US$350 a year. The Cable Subscription for PL matches is $20 per month. Internet subscription to get the package for PL is $130 per month. So DON'T give us the oh 70 quid is a lot of money crap. I could have gone for direct Sat feed, but the OSN (Entertainment) uses a different system and box and AJS, so it would have cost me US$300 for the box and dish and another set of holes drilled into the walls and more cables snaking along the walls which the Landlord will not allow.. All of that would have been useless in 30 months time anyway as some other outfit would no doubt win the rights with an increased bid. (As all those who bought Abu Dhabi Sports boxes discovered when they lost the rights this season. For Arab Nationals in the region (ie non-English Speakers) AJS is a great service as it is broadcast on Arab & Nile Sats and they tend to have already had those systems installed. We have 4 different main Service Providers in this region unlike your monopoly. Anyways, the Watch live thread is nonsense. We PAID for a service. It has been taken away because of breaches. It has NOT been taken away in the rest of SE Asia for example. AJS will tighten up their systems by January. But then ART & other wise posters will find a way of hacking the live feeds from the US. Anyone imagine for one moment they would pull the TV rights from US Service Providers? The issue is that people in the UK used fraudulent means to make money - note how others have said Pubs were busy, good atmosphere etc. Well those Landlords are taking EXTRA money on the days they show games, they are BREACHING the rules on Broadcast Rights in the UK. It is not OUR fault that you lot want to drink cheap Supermarket booze at home and any remaaining pubs have to resort to breaking "the law" to try and stay in business. Sky Italia have also had their rights pulled. That makes around 3 million people who have lost access due to the actions of a few greedy Pub Landlords in the UK. The decision to PULL the rights is Bullsh1t. It is Sky & PL & UK Police forces being LAZY. They should be banging on doors and arresting the pubs that are doing this NOT screwing OUR football watching experience (and by OUR I mean EVERY bloody PL fan in Middle East, North Africa & Italy) The issue is simple. The PL should be allowing Pubs to take a LEGAL feed of all games - it should be sensibly priced. The PROBLEM is that the clubs say it will reduce attendances. Well, the posts on this thread prove that people would prefer to watch in the pub than pay stupid money to fund the salaries of the players they want clubs to buy. So PL will not provide a service that people WANT. But why the HELL take it out on US?

I'm a Season Ticket holder. I would LOVE to watch every game at home. God I dream of the day I can come back and do that. I can't, so Al Jazeera was my salvation. I paid for an annual subscription to 380 live games. We formed a family of Saints fans here in Dubai to share the experience of watching the games together. And as I posted in the early days of that Watch every game live thread, all the fraudulent activities needed to sign up, dodgy work arounds that are listed would lead to trouble. What I never imagined was that the actions of so many greedy bstds in the UK would lead to ME and fellow Saints fans here being deprived of a Social event. Frankly if I could find a way to report every damn one of the people cheating the system so we could get the service WE paid for back. I would do it in an instance.
