  1. Oh and BTW just in case you were worried, my sunburn from the Golf here at the weekend has settled down nicely now thankyou
  2. RUBBISH - it NEVER snows in Salisbury FACT! (Ok well once in '63 and once in '82) Meanwhile 15,976 will be the attendance tonight Meanwhile there will likely be about 8-10,000 in the ground. The Red Cross has asked anyone in the Chapel End to check the one person in the row in front every 20 minutes to ensure they didn't die of hypothermia being all on their own
  3. We haven't sold players in the window the media says we are close to admin Is there supposed to be a day long board meeting on matchdays?
  4. lol Reminds me of a game against Everton many many years ago at the Dell, when they didn't want it to go ahead, we got our orange ball out and whooped their butts To those that go, hope it isn't too lonely in the stands and keep warm!
  5. I've posted before that our "often blinkered" viewpoints on here cause us to miss the "bleedin obvious" Using the standard Forum View that Lowe is an egomaniacal control freak, did anyone NOT notice the not so subtle hint that we would NOT be negotiating any Sales this week? According to consensus, Lowe wasn't even in the country - out there somewhere stalking Alpine Sure he must have a Blackberry but really, Mr Hands on would trust somebody else to screw a decent sell on clause? - Our own logic made such a possibility impossibe! So this means - Lowe is not the egomanical control freak he is taken for on here Lowe entrusted MW to handle any deals to sell The club REALLY meant that they did not intend to sell in this window. We're already doomed so what was the point ho hum What other obvious clues do we keep missing?
  6. Fantastic we don't "give anyone away at half-price" during a transfer window, we bring in a player and yet the thread STILL degenerates into point scoring *****iness. Unreal. Picking up a couple of points from this thread and coming up with a maybe The Upjest chairman wants ties with English clubs. I've heard tales that he is supposed to be "innovative" and "dynamic" and seeking to take his team back to their glory days of the '70's. Saints are looking at 20 somethings that may have slipped through the net between Academy & First Team (Holmes is a good example of a "mild" success except for getting crocked) the others - well maybe one day... SCW was brought in by Rupes to aid that development of players between Academy & 1st Team. An ex manager has set up an academy to do just that. maybe we see a benefit in building a "post grad school" type of set up, cheap nearlies who develop later - same as Hoddle. Or 1) Upjest reckon he will develop better here and have some sort of deal with us sort of like a private education fee as a percentage of a sell on clause? 2) We see something in him that could be brought out by people who look to develop players rather than watch millionaires run around listening to ipods all day 3) They paid us to take him off their hands (we needed the beer money) 4) With that CV he's probably on about 400 Euros a week or something Everybody was doing a WTF when we signed the Dutch CB guy, let's face it Zoltan has more experience than Ollie and we only have two CB's at the moment, so for now IMHO he is cover and AS LONG AS we don't get a bad injury there he has the rest of the season to be developed into cover for Perry who may not make next season. I'll wait and see, in case of panic break the glass and call in an emergency loan in the next month
  7. Big lump good in the air and good technical skills. Thought of a a few quips about yeah but so is a USAF A-10 Tankbuster But will settle for, maybe he can kick a few lumps off the opposition and bring them down to saijes...
  8. Interesting, Gary Neville was just spotted slaloming down Shirley High Street
  9. The Cutbacks continue apace at SMS and have damaged the motivation levels of some employees, however Mr Lowe is seen here showing his full commitment to his new role as Hospitality Steward
  10. You KIDDING! Ever seen or heard how bad the driving is here? Well it's the same muppets who go out onto the slopes at Ski Dubai - carnage! They even drive like muppets without REAL cars... http://www.7days.ae/storydetails.php?id=73302&title=Drink%20driver%20carted%20off But there is a nice bar where you can sit and look at the snow which gives an occassional fix when we need one! Be safe on the roads over there today everyone - sounds nasty
  11. Somehow I think we may have had the calm before the storm. We had those stories about players wages and the threat of Admin in March We had a week of Wotte thinking about what he needs or can get away with. Just get the feeling the club needs to get some hard cash in unless Barclays have had a change of mood so could be a busy day. 2.5 mil for Adam is not as good as it sounds from a cash point of view for us because of Bournemouth's sell-on clause (ie we probably won't get any new players in with that money) but should keep the bank off our backs until the summer window opens I also expect that there are high hopes we lose one of the high earners out on loan at least but if it's Saga then we are probably (no actually we ARE) fooked
  12. The evidence of the on field performances support your opinion, but in fairness, one of the few times I was in UK to watch TV, MLT on SSN listed Dyer as one to watch a few years back, just possibly like many kids who get lost to football between Academy & First Team he may be a slower developer. Let's hope he has learnt a bit now and comes back and does the business
  13. You're gonna hate this I got sunburnt today working at the golf here in Dubai.......... But would love to have one of those lovely snowy days back home...... No ok I lied about wanting to be there - off to find some Aloe Vera after sun cream.. But the golf WAS awesomely exciting & I looked bl**dy good on telly...
  14. Obviously I wasn't there, but iinteresting that both the Mail http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article5627846.ece and the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/feb/01/southampton-swansea-championship Comment that we showed a lot more bite & aggression and the latter printed the comment "But they made it difficult for us. No-one coming to St Mary's is going to find it easy now." In other words other teams thought we were push-overs at home before as well as us fans!
  15. Oh good grief
  16. Is this the thread or the thhe ththread? Evening all, a big thankyou to my mate in UK who phoned me while I was stuck in a traffic jam to take the **** about me being on tv today while working at the golf and BINGO Saga scores while I am listening to his commentary. If I could afford it I would do that every week but hey ho Not many chances and a goal - sounds like the game on Tuesday, oh & thanks for the txt updates EoA, I've told Henrik to keep a beer in for you tomorrow night (Oh Erik seeing as THEY scored just after you txt'd you are now banned from txting updates mate!) COYR!
  17. Keeping on the subject, now he's in trouble! Actually accused of BEING A LIAR in PRINT today - call for the lawyers Saggy! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/tottenham/4383219/What-Redknapp-said-is-a-lie-says-Freds-agent.html
  18. Good post WC, finally somebody else on here trying to read between the lines of WTF is going on. My alternate take was that Wotte has a good reputation with bringing the kids through and didn't actually want the higher risk role of being the first team coach - nice little back office number, not much in terms of deliverables as we say in Corp land. Then whether he disagreed with JP's almost stalinistic view on We will play this way, maybe they fell out. My reading of some of the comments is that Wotte was reluctant because he is now in 50:50 land - some good results he keeps his job but gets all the pressure, some bad results - he loses his nice cushy number. Must be about another 4,000 reasons out there
  19. The more I hear Leon the more I wonder why NOW. I know we need some money but these seem strange tactics. If he thinks he is holding the right cards to get us out of bother in the short term then he knows he only has to wait and phone the bank at the right time - bingo he has control again. So the ONLY reason I can see for all this NOW is that he is worried Rupert has found the money or a way to save the club himself. (Ouch THAT's a nightmare scenario) and that Leon and his buddies are worried about not getting their seats in the hangers-on box or get to play with the train set again when the music stops I find it all a bit odd at the moment.
  20. Some thoughts McLaggon played well by all accounts. BUT remember, he IS young and he WILL be inconsistent (look at the "praise" for Gobern after Preston aas an example) It doesn't matter one jot what the line up was or what happened before with JP here. The ONLY thing that matters is that we get RESULTS from now on in. AND as far as results are concerned, Wotte will be in charge on Saturday so we have to cope with that! As .comsaint says, that means WINNING our home games and a LOT of them (not every single one but a LOT of them) because we need 54 points at least again. Wotte got out of jail last night by getting a draw, that IS important after the last week because for the PLAYERS it will help to build some confidence because if we'd continued to play like we had UP until halftime, we could have been slaughtered and we MAY never have recovered from it. One critical thing that happened for the FIRST time this season is that we had a manager who changed things around during the game (into something that resembled a proper football formation) AND got a result from it. In the job of getting to 54 points or more, picking up a point at Norwich is a START. IF we get to that figure we should be safe as teams around us will be playing each other and taking points off each other. Even IF all of us at the bottom go on a run, we will bring other clubs into the mess as we all take points off them So again, EVERYTHING comes down to one simple fact. Did Wotte LEARN anything tonight? He tried to play a variation of the Ted Rogers formation, it did not work again. He had two days of training to experiment with it - message - IT DIDN'T WORK, and it looks damned sure that even with 2 months to experiment, IT WON'T WORK. If he HAS learnt then we stand a chance of getting to that points tally. Use 4-4-2, use Saga and possibly Euell for Wotton (by the sounds of it) and BY ALL MEANS use 4-5-1 IF you need a plan B. BUT if he hasn't learnt then we really are in the sh*t. Anyway sod football for a few days - 5 days of golf to work at now - better for the anger management skills!
  21. Now, I wonder if lessons got learnt tonight? If they did then maybe things won't be so grim (on the pitch) Well battled lads
  22. Wow a battling draw Wotte unbeaten You better have learnt a lesson tonight Dude
  23. aargghh off the line by Euell Not good for the heart this
  24. How many shots we had now?
